This is definitely one of our most favorite restaurants in San Diego. The views of downtown are beautiful and the food and service is top notch.

Afternoon lunch, so may not be the same for dinner, not very busy. Spectacular view and food to match. Very professional service. Overall, pretty good value, for lunch. Excellent appetizers and entrees were available, however. Excellent experience.

Great service, The best service I have had in a restaurant in a long time. The staff when out of their way to make sure your dinning experience was the best. They took care of your dinning needs without hovering around the table.
Amazing view of San Diego
The food presentation was very well done and the food was very well prepared with great flavor. Would love to have seen a slightly large menu.

We had a wonderful unhurried meal for our 50th wedding anniversary. Bertrand was a genial host and Kyle was a knowledgeable server. Additionally, we enjoyed a spectacular sunset to cap off the dinner.

The area of concern was the server.
1 error in wine order and one cocktail missing on reorder of drinks
2 my guest ordered an item, which he thought was an entree on the special menu on the left side of the menu. Nothing was said by the server at the time of ordering food that his choice was an appetizer item, not an entree. When the food was served, the server had made the decision to substitute an osso bucco for veal medallions. I called for the manager to let him know that service was complicated, interfering with our normal experience of Bertrand at Mr. A’s.

It was Easter, the weather was beautiful and we were seated by the windows so we could really enjoy the amazing view. As always the food was perfect, I had the Lamb chop with Osso bucco and my husband had Parmesan crusted Seabsss served on English pea risotto, both were wonderful, we’ve never been disappointed!

Very lovely meal, ambiance & service. This restaurant is really sensitive to allergy needs as well, even served gluten free bread which was tastier than the regular bread. The duck was cooked to perfection, sea bass was full of flavor. Definitely a special occasion spot for us :)

The perfect location with a great view to make the atmosphere complete with San Diego’s scenic view. The waiters were consistently asking how we were doing and made sure anything when needed was swiftly dealt with. A location I will definitely come to again when I am in the area.

I was searching for an elevated brunch experience with a view. This came recommended via OpenTable. The reviews seemed to sell this place for its view and cuisine. Some service concerns but overall a good rating. Upon entering, a hostess greeted us and asked us “if I can put you on a momentary hold” as if she was used to saying that on the phone instead of looking at us and saying “I’ll be right with you” it was weird. She went to grab a manager and he came back and said “we’ll be happy to seat you however for next time, a collared shirt for men and closed toed shoes is appreciated.” We certainly would’ve dressed more appropriately if we would’ve seen that noted in Open Table under attire. But we didn’t. We were seated next to a window. The view is lovely. We ordered drinks (sangria and Bloody Mary, Italian style) the waitress was lovely and attentive. We ordered eggs benedict and the lemon ricotta pancakes. The lemon pancakes were delicious. The eggs benedict were over cooked. We alerted the waitress and she quickly sent them back and apologized. The second try was perfect and we enjoyed our meal. They brought us a nice dessert since we were celebrating our anniversary. The check didn’t show any discount for the inconvenience of having to send a meal back and me basically eating alone. The service was nice, views are spectacular and food is delicious.

Very nice place. The view was incredible. The service very good. My wife was very pleased with her order. I was very disappointed with my dish. It was my birthday so I decided to splurge. I ordered the lobster, which I normally really like. It looked like a lobster, but certainly did not taste like any lobster I've had in the past. Maybe I should have sent it back and reordered, but I didn't want to watch my wife eat while I waited another half hour for a new order.

My girlfriends and I went out for one of our birthdays. She had not been there ever in 78 years living in San Diego. She enjoyed it thoroughly. All three of us are disabled and is in a wheelchair and I put that in my notes and they had everything set up for us like that’s just the way it should have been. They took our picture, they were just right there and we enjoyed every single moment and it was an experience that I personally will never forget. Thank you for the wonderful day the dining room and kitchen staff provided.

I had the Filet and it was perfectly cooked and one of the best I have ever tasted. My wife had the pork chop that was recommended by our waiter and it was fantastic! Also had the Peas and Shrimp Risotto as a side, excellent. Of course you can't beat the view. I will definitely be going back.

I love this restaurant! We had a wonderful table but the window for our brunch. Yummy Pomegranate Mimosas to start with sweet & savory pastries. My friend had the spinach omeley which she loved. I had the poached egg benedict which was prepared perfectly. Our server David was excellent and very attentive. His busser Daniel made sure we had plenty of water and checked with us on occasion. This is and has always been my favorite restaurant in San Diego. I also want to mention the lovely hostess but I didn’t get her name. Arnold the Valet took great care of our luxury vehicles.

Chose Mister A’s to propose to my fiancé and we were not disappointed. It was our second time dining here and the food was amazing. The views of downtown San Diego are breathtaking which made for the perfect backdrop for the proposal. Our server was kind enough to take video and photos of the entire thing and they brought complimentary glasses of champagne to our table. This experience along with our prior one have led us to make this restaurant a must visit when we are in town.

My Husband and I have been up and down the California coast for years trying really good restaurants, and this was by far one of the best. The service was unpretentious but perfectly attentive. The whole staff truly came across as enjoying their jobs, and coworkers . The food was elegant, but not forced. The history of the restaurant, and its view, was an added feature but not a distraction or excuse. My only regret is that I don't live closer so I can return sooner.

Food was very good and adequately priced. I had the sea bass that was seared to perfection. The Mac n cheese seemed a bit plain but at the end of the day it's Mac n cheese. You can't expect too much from Mac n cheese. The fois grois was some of the best I've had. I highly recommend that.

My only concern is their dress code policy. They do not specify that you need a collared shirt on the website but they will remind you that it is part of their policy when you arrive. This made us uncomfortable since the dinner was a surprise for my brothers bday and it made him the most uncomfortable. We checked ahead on the website but it didn't specify. Honestly I think dress code policies like this are dated and will ultimately lead to a lack of business for the establishment. Most hot new restaurants focus more on presentation, service and menu rather than what their customers are wearing.

The notes on the menu referencing the service charge were a political intrusion into our meal. Prices should be raised rather than making political statements on a menu with a surcharge that blames workers for a basic wage increase. I would gladly pay higher prices for menu items knowing that the laudable service provided by the staff at Mr. As guaranteed a decent, livable wage. I would encourage you to remove the surcharge and do what all great AMerican businesses do - change and thrive.
