Lovely little café restaurant. Cosy interiors and welcoming friendly staff. The food was excellent. The lamb was perfect and my family very much enjoyed their burgers and fish and chips. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert, but they looked delicious.

We arrived early but were seated straight away by a very friendly staff member who quickly took our drinks and food order. All was going well, then we waited and waited. Eventually after around 20 minutes another staff member asked if we were waiting for something, we explained we had ordered and she quickly sorted the missing drinks. The food followed quite quickly after that. The soufflé was delicious and piping hot. My main course roast beef could have done with being warmer but I didn’t complain. Would visit again if in the area.

This is an excellent place serving delicious food at a reasonable price. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the establishment allows dogs too which is a bonus!

Father’s Day Sunday Lunch done to perfection . If you want the best 3 course Sunday Lunch in the North East you must try Bertram’s . Fantastic customer service , amazing food and a great relaxed atmosphere.

So glad we pre-booked Bertram's ahead of our week-long stay in Amble. We both chose the traditional Sunday lunch of Roast Beef, Yorkshire Pudding & all the trimmings. The food was in front of us 5 minutes after ordering but if some might infer that it would be less than fresh, they would be wrong. There was a sizeable portion, the food looked appetising & wholesome and tasted fantastic. The staff were friendly & attentive. We gave the starter a miss, simply because we wanted to optimise our enjoyment of the main course! We had a dessert each, with the Lemon Meringue being my Wife's choice whilst I had vanilla ice cream (not a menu item but obligingly provided by the lady who took our order). It would be extremely difficult to fault the whole dining experience.
