   I had chicken and waffles which is usually very good. This time the chicken had no flavor and my Waffle was cold. The waitress did replace my Waffle but she couldn't do anything about that chicken. This is one of my favorite places to have brunch but I was underwhelmed this time what you say now

   The wait staff and ambience is great, but the eggs in the Bernie's benedict were overcooked as was the lox and cream cheese omelet. Noisy at first, but then the loud talkers left.

   Our prior request for quieter table was not acknowledged when we arrived, and had to sit in the bar area with live music. Next we received dirty and frayed menus. Upon ordering, 4 items chosen on menu were not available, including one of the specials. When we received our food, the basic salmon and steak dinners were burnt, and the two others were very poor. After discussing our disappointment with the manager, we were offer gratis slices of cake for our a birthday celebration. While the cake was good, it was served with soup spoons since they ran out forks. All in all, one of the worst dining experiences.

   The back area and the private upstairs are perfect for larger groups and the outdoor space is small but nice for intimate get togethers. One complaint was the size of the drinks, specifically the old fashioned which was too small and made too sweet.

   I will definitely be back. My daughter recommended and said the food is great. We had brunch, can’t wait to try dinner. It was rather busy because it was Mother’s Day, but both of our orders of fried were very cool to cold, I tried one and the seasoning was great but couldn’t eat cold fries. Otherwise, very good and definitely worth going back.

   Saw Bernie’s on TikTok while looking for for brunch places in Philly and decided to give it a try. I went Sunday, May 1st and was definitely impressed, there were plenty of food options and they even had a special May Menu. It was busy so the kitchen was backed up but the service was good and our food ended up not taking too long. The mimosa flight was $40 for a bottle, so our group of 3 got 2/3 mimosas each (~$13/pp), solid deal in my opinion. Overall Bernie’s was really good, I’ll definitely be back.

   The server basically ignored us most of the time. The food was ok… but nothing amazing. The cocktails were bland, but the place itself was pretty. We got mussels, ahi tuna nachos, fish and chips (undercooked batter), and the vegetarian seitan cheese steak. They give you a lot of food… but I wish that they would focus a bit more on how it is made.

   It was a birthday dinner for my daughter. We’ve been to Bernies before and enjoyed it. On Thursday night the menu was very limited. No beef except hamburgers, no pizza, no crab meat, it was very disappointing. The server was very kind but no explanation from the chef.

    I don’t know if this was a fluke or if Bernie’s is just suffering from severe understaffing, but my experience for brunch was really not great. Our orders came out very spottily. Two people had waters of the four of us for like 15 minutes (on the very hot upper deck), then we got more waters and half our drinks but the waiter had completely forgotten about the other half. Waited a long time for food which can be forgiven during a busy brunch day, but one person was served a good 45 minutes before everyone else and was done before anyone else even got their food. Then my food came out, and it was a good 20 minutes before the other two in our party had food. When they eventually got their eggs Benedict, the Canadian bacon had been subbed for sausage in both of their meals, effectively ruining them because neither of those two people liked sausage but they were starving enough that they didn’t want to bother ordering another dish so they just ate around the sausage. We wouldn’t have minded if we had been told the kitchen was out of ham (what we’re assuming happened because it’s happened to me the first time I was there as well). We just wish we’d been given the opportunity to choose something else from the menu or at least had part of the entrees comped or something. There was also a DJ on the upper level who was blaring music so loudly we had to yell to hear each other. Granted, we were seated close to the speaker, but still. I don’t usually leave reviews, but this has to be my worst dining experience in the city in the last 7 years I’ve been here. Very cute atmosphere with a lot of potential and the cocktails and coffee were very tasty! Just horrible service.

    We was seated and the waiter didn’t know we was there. We waited 20 minutes before I asked the hostess about our waiter.. Some of the food we ordered was tasteless.. And the price was was high. We did enjoy the drinks though..

    We tried Bernie’s for breakfast a few months back and this has became one of our favorite spots for brunch. The food is always consistently delicious and the service is always great as well.

    We waited for over an hour for our entrees to come, that we had to ask for it to go. We barely got an apology and nothing was comped, we paid for food we never actually got to eat. When we got home and were finally able to heat the food up, we were unimpressed.

    My husband and I took his parents out for brunch and we all had a good time. Tables were a bit small for 4 people but the food, prices, and service were good. Would go back again. Bathroom is on the second floor so wouldn’t recommend for people like my in-laws who couldn’t do stairs.

    I ordered the shrimp and grits, and one pancake. I wasn’t a huge fan of any of the food. They were quite busy which I initially took as a good sign, so that would potentially account for the service being a bit slow. I requested one pancake on the side and inquired about price prior since only a stack of pancakes was offered on the menu as a side, for $8. I was told I could order just one no problem for less than $8. Unfortunately, when the bill came, I saw that I was charged $8. I was told it was because it was a specialty pancake. I did not request a speciality pancake but instead was told that’s what they had that day and accepted. That’s too much to pay for one pancake that I did not even like. And we had to look for the wait staff numerous times. I don’t believe I will return for another visit.

    We’ve dined at Bernie’s on several occasions, however this time it wasn’t great. Our server was awesome but the food was not. My husband had to reorder his Turkey burger as the avocados were brown and the burger was tasteless. Even the reorders burger was tasteless. The drinks and fries were very good. I had the crab cake which was very average as it had a lot of filler and not enough lump crab meat.

    Brought out of town friends here today for brunch. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Pieces of the meal were brought out every few minutes on a million little plates. I waited 25 minutes for two pancakes that seemed as if they would never arrive so I cancelled them. By this time both of my friends were done their meals. They also gave me burnt potatoes that I had to refuse as well. Never had a more terrible experience at a restaurant. The best part was the coffee but oh yeah they ran out of half and half so they made a mixture of coconut milk and oat milk. Good thing I wasn’t allergic. Trust the reviews! I didn’t and look what Happened.

    This is our second time dinning at this location and once again We we’re underwhelmed. The first time outdoor and indoor seating seem fully booked, so we let it go when one of party’s order came out late and cold. However our server and the manager were apologetic and kind. We chalk that experience up to sometimes crap happens. We returned this pass Sunday for a 10:30 brunch reservation. This time the restaurant was less crowded and weren’t too far from the kitchen. My friend ordered coffee, the blueberry pancakes and bacon. I order tea, 1 blueberry pancake and a side of potatoes and bacon. When our food finally came out my friends pancakes where lukewarm. My 1 pancake was cold, the potatoes were lukewarm. My friend tried to eat her pancakes. I ate my potatoes and bacon, because I was hungry. I told our server that my pancake was cold, she offered to bring me another one, but I declined. She apologized but never checked on us again until we asked for the check. Eventually the manager came to our table and apologized, saying she forgot to turn on the warming light, as we had already paid our bill she couldn’t comp us but she also didn’t offer a gift certificate to make it up to us. We were disappointed and we will not be dinning at this location again. We’ve dined at the Jenkintown location many times and always had a wonderful experience from the service to the food and drinks.

    Food came out in the installment plan: eggs, muffin and bacon arrived separately on three different plates. There was no bread for toast; specified dry toasted muffin and it arrived buttered, barely toasted. I do not blame the wait staff and I know restaurants are having trouble with help but there needs to be communicated and training between them and the kitchen.

    My wife and I went for breakfast/brunch and my wife always gets the pancakes and when the hostess sat us she never informed us that their griddle wasn’t working that is used to cook pancakes and French toast. The waitress let us order drinks and then bought are drinks back and then told us the griddle was broken. I feel both the hostess or waiter should have let us know this upfront. We did not stay we left and went else where.

    I really want to love this place. The restaurant has a great vibe and a killer menu but the service really isn't great. I went here for my birthday dinner and the server started by telling us the long list of everything they were out of on the menu which ended up being at least half of the cocktail list. It took over 30 minutes for our cocktails to come, way after our appetizers arrived. That being said the food was good when it did come. Would definitely recommend the thai curry mussels -- they were unique and delicious! Might be a good spot when you're not in a rush and don't really care about service.

    In a nearly empty restaurant with ample staff, it was difficult to have the waitress come to the table. About a half hour waiting for drinks and an additional half hour waiting for beverage menus, the brunch turned into a more serve yourself experience trying to track down anyone who would wait on the table.

    This was quite literally the worst service I've ever experienced. I had an 8:00 birthday reservation with two of my friends. We arrived at 7:55 and were sat in the back room away from everyone. We weren't given water or even greeted until 8:25. Multiple people walked right by us and we were finally able to wave someone down to then be told "I don't know where your server is, did you want to order drinks or something?" 15 minutes after that we received our drinks from the hostess who also said she didn't know where our server was. She then took our order and advised the live music wasn't happening and that the two meals we wanted they didn't have. I then asked where our server was and suddenly she said it was her. We didn't receive our food until well after 9:00 even though the restaurant was not busy. Luckily the food was great because the first hour of being blatantly ignored and the confusion with who our server even was was terrible. First and last time going.

    Music is too loud for brunch. Coffee wasn’t changed before brewing, making the coffee taste like water with a hint of coffee. The food, as much as it is understandable that the wait was over one hour, didn’t come all together. I wish they don’t overbook the restaurant when they are understaffed. I am pretty sure it is stressful to the staff, but a very unpleasant experience as a consumer. The place was very packed and chaotic.

    We walked into the restaurant and it reeked of fish. When seated at our table it was so wobbly our drinks nearly fell over. The first 2 beers we ordered were not available…they were seasonal so understandable but it was all down hill from there. We tried to order a Buffalo chicken wrap but were told they were all out of chicken. We then tried to order Buffalo cauliflower and were told “oh we’re definitely out of that too”. I decided to move onto a pizza with a side of onion rings but they were out of onion rings as well! We were then told if we wanted to order from the sandwich section they’d have to substitute the roll for a wrap so I guess they were out of bread too! We told them we were just going to finish our third choice drinks and leave and the waiter was completely shocked! I felt like we were being punked. I’ll never dine here again.

    Our server was new and willing to help but was obviously very green. Several things were unavailable on the menu. We ordered apps and entrees. All the food was brought at the same time. The tuna nachos sounded amazing but there was maybe 6 bite size pieces on the entire dish, the French onion soup was lukewarm, the tuna on the ahi tuna and risotto dish was over cooked, both salads came without dressing. When we asked the server to bring the dressing for them, he informed us that they didn’t have the dressing for either salad we ordered. He never brought a replacement and tried to charge for both. I wanted to like this place and the menu sounded really good but food, service and noise level made our experience less then desirable. We left hungry and unfortunately won’t be back.
