We’ve been to Bernies a few times and it’s always a good time. Drinks are great, food is great service tonight was fantastic.
Modern relaxing environment. Food was amazing and the restaurant staff were professional and friendly.
I was not happy with the food and the service
We had a party of four and asked to sit at one of the larger round tables. We were told they were reserved for parties of 5 or more. There were several of these round tables that were not in use. I understand the policy, but it would have been nice if the host could have checked if any of the round tables were already reserved.
Otherwise the food and service were excellent. We usually go to the Glenside location but we enjoyed the larger space in Hatboro.
We were sad that the parfait was not available!
Bernie’s has consistently good food. The menu is on the smaller side. Waitress and waiters are all amazing.
We ordered Roast chicken with pan gravy and gravy never comes with it and the waitress said its new chicken roast receipe so we checked the menu again it should be comes with gravy sauce and my wife ordered sauteed shrimp that comes with extra hair dressing
The food and atmosphere were great! There are not too many places for dinner in Hatboro and we enjoyed our visit but the service was very slow and the restraunt wasn't very crowded
Food took 1.5 hrs!
We visit Bernie’s in Hatboro regularly and are usually satisfied with our visit This visit (6:00 on a Friday night) was horrible. We were seated promptly and always make a reservation We were in the back room (aka their party room) While busy and with 3 servers buzzing around the room, no one approached or greeted us....for a while. Other tables were seated after us and had water, drink orders taken.....it was like we were invisible. After some time, I stepped out to ask for a manager. I was exasperated.....don’t take reservations if you can’t handle them. The mgr got a waiter for us. We tried to relax and enjoy our dinner Not sure I’ll visit again on a weekend. Not worth the stress
I ordered eggs Benedict with well-done yolks, but they came out runny. Second time was perfect & delicious.
Convenient location, casual dining. Quite loud, good energy. Lots of sports viewing. Server was great! Food was better than usual this last time. New cook?
Nice place, good food for a decent price. Great bar with awesome staff, great beer choices and TVs. Usually have live music Saturday nights. Bathrooms should be cleaner.
Food and service were great but the cocktails were weak. My friend and I ordered two different drinks and we tried each other’s. My cosmopolitan was not strong and her blackberry spicy margarita was way to spicy no blackberry.
Food was great, we had seafood, steak and salad. French fries with my crispy beef were the big hit.
Brunch was awesome. Great shrimp and grits. OMG! French toast to die for. Staff was very friendly.
Had dinner prior to listening to a local band. Server was nice but struggled to give info on favorites or recommendations for drinks. Service was slow and bussing tables was lacking. But the vibe was good and the food was better than expected. Would have been great if service was better. But they are trying
Dinner was underwhelming. Stick with their amazing small plates and apps.
We always enjoy Bernies! We make sure to request a table away from the bar so that we can talk.
Pleasant dining experience in a neighborhood pub. Good friendly service. Good variety of menu choices with many options if you are vegetarian. Although they offer a variety of pizzas, this particular Saturday evening they had no pizza available. Don’t know why but we weren’t getting pizza so it didn’t matter to us. Burgers are very good and so are the sweet potato fries.
My first visit with a good friend. The food and drinks were terrific.
Love Bernie's! We come all the time, but don't always sit in the restaurant part. Everything was great.
I already posted a review on their site on FB. They aren't the same. We r always there. NO more gone downhill
New Years Day
Good job Bernies. Food and service were impeccable, clean bathrooms, I 'll be back.
A welcome addition to a growing neighborhood like hatboro. It has and will become a landmark in the community. Food is great with a nice variety- superb service a little unusual for this type of venue.
Great service. Great vegetarian choices
Awesome food. Very attentive wait staff. Felt comfortable and home like. Celebrated my sisters college graduation and it was the perfect setting.
Bernies is an open feel restaurant with a large dining area and a spacious bar area. The food looks, smells and tastes delicious. It is a bit pricey, but worth it to me. The pool tables upstairs are also a nice touch.
Reservation got us a high tip table at the bar. Table dirty. No service. Unable to get refills of our drinks. Only 2 waitresses for the entire bar. Ordered a wedge salad, got a warm mixed salad. Food not good. In face, not even sure if it is safe to eat here. Could not complain to waiters as she NEVER came back. Would not recommend and would NEVER go back. Definitely different from Bernies in Glenside. What a waste of time and money!
I mostly come here for the beer and atmosphere. It's a nicely finished space with trendy accents and a nice, big bar. The beer ranges from $2 tall cans of PBR and Narragansett to more expensive pours of various, rotating craft beers. Most beers are sold as "16 oz." pours, but they use small glasses and serve them with large heads, the 16 oz. cans of beer don't fit in the glass... Figure a bit less than a 12 oz. pour in reality. The food is affordable and of decent quality. The real value is in the small plates, I highly recommend the poutine.
Their 4-seater tables are the same size as the 2-seater tables, so you will be uncomfortable and the table will be cluttered. There are other, much larger tables available for big parties, but the 4 or so of them take up the majority of the space. They could use a re-think on the seating in the dining room off of the main bar area. Service is a mixed bag, it has been great, but our most recent visit left us a little wanting... Service was generally slow with a couple mix-ups regarding one of our sides, and an incorrect entree was brought to our table (crab cake salad instead of crab cake sandwich). I also went long periods without a drink, my second beer was brought to the table only minutes before our check. Thankfully they serve water to the group when you sit down. I would have ordered more beer during my meal, but I was only given the chance once, the second time I had to ask her to stop as she walked past our table.
Overall, I would recommend this place to a friend, but for best results, get appetizers & drinks at the bar. Table service is cramped and inconstant.
Daughter joined us at the very end of brunch, asked for a mimosa, and was charged $15 for bottomless mimosas even though she only wanted and had one.
A nice dinner with friends. The service was very good and food satisfying.
We've been faithful customers of Bernie's Glenside and were looking forward to a possibility to check-out Bernie's Hatboro since it opened. This weekend the opportunity came up as we were celebrating 4 family birthdays that happens in December. We decided on this restaurant because of location which was convenient to everyone.
We were seated promptly upon arrival. The hostess, while seating us, proudly proclaimed that they are 'good for private parties' and noted that 'there is one going on right now'.
Perhaps that should have been a red flag, although in all fairness I cannot be 100% sure that our experience was directly tied to that.
Our server made apologies beforehand stating that he is 'brand new'. no problem - we've dealt with new servers before and actually worked in restaurants ourselves so we are not the type to give someone headaches just because they are still green. So repeating the orders, even to the point of showing the entries on the menu can be brushed off. The 3 starters, however, took a while to appear and our daughter's drink was quite potent (granted, Cosmos are usually very potent-but this was a bit over the top)
Just when we were almost done with them, the server came up to the table and again with apologies, informed us that 'he lost our order'. We had to give our choices again and obviously the waiting time increased. Given the fact that the whole party now is sitting there with no food and 'nothing to do' - there were no attempts to somehow make it 'right' (I am not so much suggesting any monetary compensation but perhaps a plate of fries or something similar delivered to the table would have sufficed to tie everyone over while waiting). This was my fourth visit to this location but first time to Bernie’s. We arrived as the Friday evening Happy Hour crowd was starting to fill the bar, the dinner crowd came later. The many rooms offer comfortable seating for small, medium or large groups and remain intimate. Our server was very attentive and saw to our dining needs. We chose an appetizer - the Parmesan Punched Potatoes - outstanding! The blend of melted Parmesan and Blue Cheeses were a surprisingly good combination and the topping of crumbled, crisp bacon - well, everything tastes better with bacon. The Karl burger, topped with cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato and, again, bacon was reported by my dining companion, to be very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I chose the Pacific Coast Chicken Sandwich sans bun. Very tasty indeed. The accompanying steak fries were very crispy, nicely seasoned and piping hot. Served in a metal container, they remained hot throughout the meal. Sadly, we missed the dessert menu which featured peach raspberry pizza, my two favorite fruits. There will definitely be a next time.
It was my second time there! Great food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
Was disappointed in food. 1st waitress was great, replacement totally lacked engagement with patrons. Service quite slow, menu advertised Tomato and crab bisque soup only to find not really crab just tomato. Lost my patronage. Sorry but honest review
We had 2 kids in our group and Bernie's was very accommodating. The food was great and the ambiance was good -- would definitely go back!!
Place is super cute, food was delicious, but a little pricey. Service was top notch. I would definitely come back for lunch or dinner. I'd like to try some of the delicious sounding desserts.
We have been to Bernie’s a few times and always had a great meal this time wasn’t as good as usual. Hopefully this was a one off.
Bernie's is hands down the greatest restaurant in the Hatboro area. Everything on the menu is amazing and the staff is always friendly and extremely attentive to your needs.
Limited menu. Overly seasoned food. Out of most desserts. Tables too small for plates & glasses.
