    The service was the worst I have ever experienced. Even before we sat down our server Angelica acted indifferent and ignored us. It was obvious they were focusing on the table of 4 of 6 to try and get more tips. I made this reservation early and noted we were celebrating our engagement, no check in about any celebration or anything to acknowledge the special occasion, the table was not ready when we arrived and we had to wait as we watched the server seem to do anything but set the table. Throughout the service we were ignored, even having to catch their attention by stating « we are ready to order whenever you are ready » after sitting for 10 minutes with zero check in. I asked for a wine recommendation, I was brought a sample of one of the two wines I was considering, I decided on the sample. I was then brought the wrong wine which wasn’t even one of the two that I was deciding between. We placed our order before the table of 6 next to us yet they received 2 courses before we even had our appetizer. I had to ask for an update on when to expect our appetizers (elk tartar and charred bannock), then part of our appetizer was missing (charred bannock) and since there again was no check in, I had ask once again for service. Sadly it didn’t end there. When we were finished, no drinks or food in front of us, continued catering to two other tables and ignoring us. Only when I made eye contact did they ask if we wanted dessert. We declined and they brought the bill another 10 minutes later. While my fiancé was paying, they repeatedly looked at the machine as he was paying and entering tip. Overall horrendous service, I hope they receive updated training. The food was delicious, however overpriced considering the cod was 42$ and came with the single piece of fish. Based on advertisements I expected much more. I have been talking about this place for months, which is why we chose to celebrate our engagement here and I left feeling ignored, upset and frustrated.

    Dinner was absolutely delicious! Highlights were the brisket and potato and cheese dumplings but everything was tasty, well seasoned and expertly prepared. We’ll be back!

    Bernadette's is a cozy and intimate restaurant serving seasonal and elegant indigenous dishes. We ordered multiple dishes a la carte, including the raw elk, the eggplant, and the absolutely standout and delicious brisket. The brisket was so delicious that we ended up ordering it twice. Service is friendly and the overall vibe is excellent.

    Way too expensive for what was served. We asked for their “Mystery Movktail” and they sent us iced tea. Also the food was incredibly expensive for dishes that could honestly be made at home if you know a bit about cooking… we also had gone to Bundok the night before, and that was amazing and we got more there for the same price as three mediocre dishes here. The most disappointing thing was that we were hoping to experience traditional indigenous food but what we got was more Italian. First, the salad (radicchio, endive, apple) was $28 and had truffle oil dressing and parmigiano (Italian). Then grilled eggplant with tomato, pine nuts, and goat cheese (Italian— eggplant marinara). And then cod which was over $40 and we got a one ounce piece in butter sauce (admittedly, this is more French). Anyways, I was underwhelming and not worth the hype. Go to Bundok if you want a true culinary experience

    Shocking in the best way possible! Edmonton is very fortunate to have a chef of this caliber in the city for our enjoyment. The menu was exciting and delicious with every bite!

    Amazing indigenous food experience. Food was incredible service was outstanding. The owner was very knowledgeable in Indigenous cuisine and even came by our table and introduced himself. Very humble man and friendly. Have told friends and others to try it and we are definitely going back to try other menu items.

    We tried 6 dishes and a wonderful wine. Every dish was delicious, generous and prepared with the owner leading the way. Service was informative on both food and culture. I will visit Bernadetes every visit to Edmonton.
