   We dined at Bernadette last night. While it markets itself as a French-Mediterranean restaurant, the experience didn’t quite align—the menu leaned more tapas meets Caribbean, and the music felt more like a lounge than a cozy bistro. The menu itself is quite limited, and the portions are small, so I wouldn’t recommend going if you’re very hungry. Our waiter was lovely and attentive at the start, but service declined as the evening went on. Dishes came out slowly, and by the end of the night, we waited over 10 minutes for someone to collect our check. We were also celebrating a friend’s birthday. I had noted it on the reservation and they mentioned it to me (once we arrived first, multiple times). While we didn’t expect a big fuss, it was disappointing that all the desserts were brought out without even a candle—especially after being told they simply “didn’t have any.” The space itself is charming and the concept has potential, but overall, we left feeling a bit underwhelmed.

   Servers were very nice and polite. But, slow, forgetful, ran out of flat water before we arrived and took long to bring tap (served drinks and first course before finally reminding them we asked for water)? No dark beers/ran out? Missing two ingredients for one of their few non-alcoholic beverages. Grilled bread with spreads delish, mussels pretty tasty, tuna tartar very vinegary, bib lettuce fresh, seafood medley pasta took forever and the shrimp was raw inside. That was our cue to leave- finally. Shared the concerns throughout the meal along with a few compliments with the servers. When we showed the raw shrimp, no offer to compensate and asked if we wanted to take it with us! LOL! Maybe an off night but won’t go back, not worth the chance.

   Tapas are my favorite way to eat. Bernadette does an excellent job with that approach to dining. I do wish there were more cooked green vegetable options.

   Food was fantastic but portions were small. They were also out of a lot of the options on the menu. The taste factor, ambiance and service is high, but value is low. So it all comes down to what you personally emphasize as important. Drinks were stellar!

   I’ve been several times now – I drive 30 minutes each way to get there – and every time it’s been just fantastic. I’ve gone with my wife, I’ve taken friends. A fun and delicious menu and super kind service. Thank you!

   First time here with another couple. Really beautiful decor, excellent artisanal cocktails and delicious tapas style menu. Our server was terrific and you won't feel rushed through your meal. The only downside, as a party of 4 we were placed at the very wide communal dining table in the center of the restaurant. The table is much wider than a normal dining table and the music is quite loud in the space, so it was difficult to hear our friends across the table. We asked to be moved but they were unable to accommodate us. Next time we will be sure to ask for a partial booth along the perimeter of the restaurant in order to better enjoy our conversation.

   Started strong with good cocktails and lighter plates to share (especially the prawns). Service dropped off mid-meal, as our waiter seemed to forget about our corner of the dining room for 30+ mins. Final course tasted like it had been sitting under warming lights, and we left before dessert.

   This experience was horrible. Came in for dinner on a Saturday night. First, they couldn’t find our reservation. When they finally did they sat us at the bar. The three bartenders there were inattentive and aloof. It took them 10 minutes to get us water and put our drink orders in. The drinks were water down and overpriced. When they finally took our order after being there for 25 minutes, it took another 45 minutes to food to get out. Our order was wrong. The food was mediocre at best. The steak was so undercooked it was still bleeding. The noise level was high and I could barely hear my partner talk. What a waste of money. Never going back here.
