Berkeley North

Our experience for dinner at Berkeley North was delightful. We felt very safe as everything was extremely clean and well spaced out. The servicer was prompt and attentive. We shared four courses and each one was as good as the next. We had mushroom dumplings in a ginger miso sauce, a large handmade falafel platter with pickled beets, a decadent avocado salad with edamame and jalapenos, and a koji nut ravioli with parmesan to finish. My partner had several excellent cocktails and some cabernet sauvignon with our meal. Sadly, we were too stuffed for dessert. Overall, an excellent dining experience.

A simple menu for complicated times. We felt comfortable dining with the spacing provided indoors. Wearing a warm coat while dining is not inconvenient, it provides peace of mind as the outdoor air is welcome inside the dining facility.

COVID guidelines strictly adhered to, even a bottle of hand sanitizer provided for our table. Dumplings and shrimp tempura highly recommended. All sandwiches are fresh and delicious. Salad ingredients and dressings very innovative. Parking across the street (IMPark), some on KW. Calm relaxed ambience, terrific service. Owner stopped by our table to thank us for our attendance.

New to Hamilton and was very happy to find that there are a few good quality restaurants to visit. Food was very flavourful and the service was excellent. I love it when food is delivered to the table and the waiter gives a brief description. There is lots of parking across the street which is very convenient when it is cold out. Can not wait for round 2.

Great food and service. Both of our meals and dessert were delicious. Also recommend you start your evening with one of the signature cocktails.

Had a great dinner with our family. Owner was very gracious and came over to say hello. Staff was attentive and very friendly. All protocols were well thought out and made our group feel safe. Food was great and everyone in our group left impressed. Thank you for an excellent evening.

Went for my girlfriends birthday. Our server was amazing. Food was delicious. Smaller portions, but we still left full. We tried 4 cocktails and they were all really good.

Tapas style dishes are excellent, two people with average appetites will share three to four of these dishes plus a dessert.

Had a great experience at Berkeley North! The food was delicious and you could tell it was made in house, the atmosphere was very cute and modern, and the overall experience was great! I had the Cod Burger and that was great!

As always, nothing but the best at Berkeley North! Fresh, local ingredients made into simple but perfect dishes. Great wine choices and absolutely superb service. Love this place!!

Our first time and here and it was incredible! We started with the Mushroom Dumplings which were insanely good. We had the creamy garlic shrimp pasta and the fried chicken sandwich as our mains. The sandwich was out of this world and I highly recommend getting the rosemary and garlic fries! The pasta was yummy but the portion size was a bit small; delicious nonetheless, and the fried chicken sandwich was massive so that made up for the smaller pasta. Our drinks and service were also outstanding and we will definitely be back soon - I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

Amazing as always. Atmosphere makes you feel safe and relaxed indoors. Best food and fantastic service. Always our number one recommendation for restaurants.

Shrimp Tempura was good but not really a tempura, more like fried shrimp.
Lamb pasta was good but dry. 'Egg noodles' actually pepper papperdella.
Back yard salad was one of the 'special' featuring local tomatoes with peppers and cheese. Tomatoes were good, but if there was any cheese, it was mixed onto a sauce and the peppers were pickles. It was more of a deconstructed thousand island dressing.
Wine was a little expensive. Extremely limited selection
Service was great.
Space is nice.
Overall a pretty good place but maybe tries to be a bit more than it should.
Had I gone at another time or on another occasion I probably would have sent the salad back and questioned the tempura

Went for an anniversary dinner. Although the menu was condensed due to Covid, there was a variety of options. We enjoyed the dumplings, chicken skewers, shrimp and a salad that the chef had just created using local tomatoes. Everything was very good. Hopefully they are able to expand their menu again, we'll definitely be back.

Our server Natalie was excellent, and the drink named after her was also excellent!

This was our second visit to Berkeley North. Great experience and the food did not disappoint !!

Thank you for a lovely evening. I was very impressed with the spacing and the protocols in place to ensure comfort and safety. Starting with drinks-we wanted to try cocktails created by Roisin(one of the best bartenders in the city). Our server helped point them out and they were excellent.
My guest and I both started with the feature tomato salad-beautifully well balanced use of simple ingredients. For dinner I had the fresh cheese pasta, which was ridiculously good and something I would come back for.
Overall, the service was wonderful, well informed, and I could tell care had gone into training the staff in all the new safety procedures.
Thank you again-it's not easy to create such a warm atmosphere and welcoming environment in these..."unprecedented times" haha ...but I hear we will all get through it together and Berkeley North is definitely doing its part <3

I felt very comfortable. It was obvious they took excellent measures to keep everyone social distanced. It was an excellent dining experience. Excellent service and good.

Atmosphere is great and so is the service. They used to have a more veg-friendly menu with small plates, I prefer that to the more basic menu they have now. Maybe the menu is reduced due to COVID? There isnt a ton of choice and the food was someone bland, other than the mushroom dumplings which were amazing

The restaurant managed the new covid-19 rules fantastically without compromising a warm atmosphere to enjoy your meal in. Not only was the atmosphere fantastic but the food was out of this world. Very fair portions to price ratio and I left the restaurant feeling very full and satisfied. Will definitely recommend.

The food at BN was fantastic. I had the dumplings and the fresh cheese pasta- easily the best pasta I’ve had in a long time!

Love the room and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

We enjoyed a restaurant meal recently at Berkeley North, our first "indoors" since March. We found the food to be excellent as usual, and the service friendly and efficient. The safety precautions were remarkable. There was at least 2 meters between all tables, staff were masked, there was plenty of hand sanitizer, and the restroom was cleaned between uses. Not only is the ambiance of this small restaurant pleasing, its design means that the ventilation was excellent, because a large garage-type door at the front of the restaurant was up.

Matt and his team always make you feel like you are their most important customers. There’s no place in Hamilton where you can get this quality of service plus food, drink, ambience (good vibes only!) all in one. Their health and safety protocols are top notch too which is so important these days.

Great staff, very accommodating-great service and the food was delicious!
