Will recommend with a caution. This is a charming place in terms of atmosphere and cordial service. Two persons in our party ordered the cassoulet and it was disappointing given the French Bistro theme. It was dried out due to much oven time. Neither one finished it and declined the offer to take the rest home.
The lamb and featured fresh fish were both excellent.
To their credit; an excellent, reasonably priced wine list was a plus.
Went here with my 2 kids to celebrate my birthday. The brunch was excellent. We will be back to try other things on the menu. Service was outstanding.
We had a great date night. Everything we tried was
fantastic. The service was friendly and excellent... lots of water refills without asking.
I had the Croque Monsieur and it was tasty...a little heavy on the smoky ham, but the bechamel sauce was nice, with a subtle touch of nutmeg, my favorite. It was quite rich, and served with a baby greens salad that had a pretty oily dressing. My dining partner and I felt a lighter, crisper salad, without a heavy dressing, would have nicely offset the rich, heavy flavor or the Croque Monsieur better. The pickled cabbage was delightful!
Our table was by the entry, so it felt less comfortable, but in general, I like the small room. Our mixed drinks were outstanding, and the wine our waitress recommended was very nice. The salads are simply fantastic, as were the deserts. The lamb entree stood out among our entrees. My only criticism is the limited choice for vegitarians.
I found this gem based on Open Table reviews. Cozy space with authentic French comfort food. The duck confit (with onion jam) was absolutely the best duck I have ever had. My mom loved the lamb entree. The chef's platter appetizer was also excellent. Very reasonable prices for the quality of food. My mom says she's found her new favorite restaurant! (Also, extra stars should be given for the restaurant contacting me to let me know we had left an envelope with a sizable amount of money in it on the table!)
A tasty and delicious meal. Excellent and friendly service.
A delightful French inspired restaurant. A cozy environment, delicious food, and a lovely place for a Sunday brunch!
This was our third visit and we loved it just as much as the previous times. The food and service is outstanding
Nice cozy restaurant, I’m looking forward to visiting again! Our pear salad and lamb navarin were both excellent.
The appetizer cheese plate was small and disappointing. There were little slices of three different cheeses, some pear slices, an overpowering onion jam and a pile of toasted sunflower seeds.
Dessert was a pear & almond tart served with ice cream & whipped cream.
A nice but maybe overworked server.
Lovely experience at Bergerac! Wonderful service, atmosphere and the best lamb I’ve had in a long time!
Excellent food and service. The tomato based appetizer was particularly good as was the special halibut dish of the night. Sorbet with berries was an excellent and refreshing finish.
Delicious food, great service. A wonderful birthday celebration for me! Love this place and will definitely dine here again. I had the lamb and it was yummy!
Everyone should go to a special monthly dinner at Bergerac! The food will be delicious and dishes that you have never tasted before. During the meal the chef will come around and talk about the food, and answer questions. Service is outstanding, and sitting at communal tables means you might make new friends. It was great!
Absolutely perfect. Real good food, real good price, real good experience. If you’re looking for authentic French food without a pretentious experience, this is the place.
An excellent culinary tune-up or teaser for our upcoming trip to the Bergerac area in France.
Food was delicious and as expected. Went there specially for the escargots and not disappointed. thank you Emily and Michelle. The chef came over and chatted with us. thank you.
As always, everything was perfection.
Wonderful, small place with a solid wine list and excellent food.
Great experience. Loved the food and good attention to dietary concerns. Plan to come back often!!
It was our first time and we loved the scallop appetizer, the snails, the duck entree, and the halibut. The fromage appetizer was was lacking, needed less seeds and jam and more cheese. The pots de chocolate was grainy, and pear and almond tart was greasy and lacked almond flavor so less than desirable. We will definitely be back.
Our 'Go-To' choice for special occasions. This might have been our best meal yet! Mouth watering and very memorable. We feel very fortunate to have this gem in our neighborhood.
Really great food! Nice, quiet, intimate setting.
Food and service are both fantastic. Order anything and you won't be dissatisfied.
Outstanding even though the halibut was ovecooked and we had two somewhat noisy people at a table too close to us.
The food was exquisite. We enjoyed our experience very much and look forward to returning!
Bergerac has become our go-to spot when we want great food, great service and a quiet meal.
Excellent food and service. It’s a small space inside but also offers patio seating. Brunch was delicious and I look forward to dinner there someday soon!
Wonderful experience all around, excellent food and outstanding service.
Birthday lunch with a great friend. Everything from the server/service to the exquisite food was just perfect. Want to go there with my sweetie, and would highly recommend Bergerac to anyone.
Such an outstanding dining experience! Tried to get in twice prior to this first visit but they were closed for private events, and I know why, they’re great! I look forward to working my way through the menu and back again. Thank you for the bottom of my belly!
Excellent food and service
Lovely place to enjoy a delicious brunch! It's a great addition to the Woodstock neighborhood.
The location, ambiance and wait staff were all excellent. The food was not excellent. The fromage platter was good but small. The bread was sparse and missed the cruchiness of a normal french baguette. The salads and soup were good but nothing exceptional or particularly french. The duck and vegetables were extremely salty. The special lamb/beef was over spiced and the ragu de champignons was plain and under slated. The pear sundae and pot de chocolate desserts were excellent.
A wonderful little hidden neighborhood gem with authentic French bistro food, a creative cocktail list and a most reasonable wine list. Indoor as well as outdoor seating. Very friendly service staff. I'll definitely make this a frequent choice in my dining experience.
I really wanted this restaurant to be excellent but it was only okay. We started with cocktails — her French 75 and my Manhattan were both on the sweet side. Too much simple syrup and too much sweet vermouth, but overall okay. We should have waited to order our appetizer since they rush out the escargot which was perfectly flavored with garlic, parsley and salt but not very hot. Several more minutes in the oven and they would have been outstanding and we could have finished our drink. My wife had the lamb and I had duck confit. Again well prepared but both served on a cold plate. After we began eating other tables around us were offered a rack of lamb special that my wife would have ordered over the menu lamb stew-type dish. It was never offered to us. We did get help with the wine list and had a good choice despite most wines in the $50-$60 range for $15 bottles of wine.
As the night went on the restaurant got busy and they were very understaffed. We decided to forego dessert and after dinner drinks as it would have taken way too long. Lots of potential if they work on some very fixable things.
My friend and I had a wonderful dining experience at Bergerac. She had recently returned from Provence and four years ago I had spent time in the Dordogne so we were jazzed for a “French” experience and we were not disappointed. She thought her duck was fabulous, tender and so flavorful and as good as any she had had in France. My Ragu de Champignon was scrumptious and comforting with rustic polenta and tender mushrooms. We forced ourselves to enjoy the poire “belle Helene” pear tart....yumm! Their wine choice is reasonable and the atmosphere and wait staff is charming. Our wait person was a doll and so efficient and kind. I am sad I live far away as I would frequent Bergerac often.
Found this new little French bistro at Easter and came back for my birthday this July. They have a nice brunch menu and prices seem reasonable. We were the only ones in the restaurant at 3:00. Service was excellent but then again we were the only ones there. Food came out timely. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating as one person in our party was very late, yes you Kristyn! The only thing I thought a bit odd was that we all had to order from the brunch or from the dinner. I guess I understand it’s before dinner, so I was okay with brunch which is kinda what everyone else wanted to order from. They did give us a beautiful birthday desert free of charge for both myself and granddaughter as we were both celebrating. I also received a call before our reservation as to whether we had special needs since I’d indicated it was a birthday celebration which I thought was very nice.
I would like to try their dinner menu next time. Again prices seemed reasonable.
Bergerac is truly a neighborhood find. The cuisine is authentic and interesting. Delicious too!
We have visited for two of their "special events" which utilize Oregon ingredients in a very innovative way. A wonderful communal meal. Enjoy great food and meet new people.
They always have some excellent wine selections as well.
