Very good, as always. Our waitress had an aloof presence, although at the end she sent us a complimentary birthday dessert. Everyone else were warm & wore big smiles, including the hostess, manager and the assistant who maybe a bus person and got us the extra plates (our waitress said yes then disappeared for a long while so we had to ask the assistant), grated the cheese, offered the dessert menu ...etc. always friendly with a warm hearty smile... 10 STARS for everyone except our waitress who's earned just a 3.5 stars from us.
Neighborhood Gem: Located across from the Walnut Creek Library, Benvenuti feels like a hidden gem, and after at least a dozen lovely meals there, I consider it a "go to" for both spontaneous and special meals. The small bite Gnocchi melts in your mouth, garlic bread is hot and cheesy, lighter fare is available and the Caeser Salad is perfect with just the right blend of flavors. If you like seafood, try the Sole -- moist, tender and yummy. My husband enjoys their Veal dishes. There is a full bar and the dessert menu includes a light, fluffy lemon cake -- not to be missed.
Benvenuti is a restaurant I choose again and again. The people are warm, the service is great, and the food is very good--very consistent. They have my favorite drink anywhere--Sal's Limonata--always a treat. We have subscription theatre tickets at the Lesher Center in Walnut Creek and we always go to Benvenuti before theatre. I often order the sole, which is made very well, with vegetables and a pasta underneath. Benvenuti also has a great happy hour with wonderful appetizers and small plates you can order during the week. I definitely recommend it.
This restaurant is spectacular! My sister introduced my husband and me to it years ago when it was in San Francisco. Angela has since moved it to Walnut Creek, and though we had not been there since that move, we have now been back four times and loved it each and every time! Everything is spot on, and delicious. Angela makes all of the desserts herself, and her chef is terrific. The wait staff, bussers and everyone and everything else is perfect. We will be back as many times as we can over the next several years. We were there on Saturday, 7/6/19, and already are wishing we could go back again. Lovely place for romantic dinners, family dinners, group dinner and the bar is fine, too. Great cocktails.

we had reservations for four seniors. The table was ready upon arrival but when we were seated it was very noisy. The waiter and staff were kind enough to put together two small table outside for us where we enjoyed wonder food drink and conversation. The waiter had been there only one week but was friendly and knowledgeable. It was a very good evening.
Great meal, and excellent service!
Returned to this place for the first time since it was closed and renovated. The new vibe is much more modern and suited to downtown Walnut Creek. The greeting was wonderful and we felt right at home. Our server was there previously and she was just perfect in her manner and level of service. My wife's cocktail was not to her liking and it was whisked away and replaced with one that was just right. The portions are large, very well presented and served really hot........something I wish other restaurants would do. We had to share the Tiramisu for dessert and it was homemade and plenty for three people. Prices are good and they only charge $15 for wine corkage.....must be the lowest in Walnut Creek! We all took home food for lunch the following day and we will be back soon.
Great open setting. The wait staff was super attentive and our waiter took his time to answer our questions about some of the dishes. The food was fresh and delicious, great portion. Will be our go to Italian restaurant
Very friendly place. We loved the food and the service was great especially friendly was our waiter Josephine. We highly recommend this to anyone who wants to try authentic Italian cuisine with Sicilian influence.
Great food and wine. Impeccable service. Best italian in walnut creek.
Tasty items, served extremely professionally with a pleasant atmosphere EXCEPT...so loud you can not hear yourself, never mind your dinner guests!
AMAZING! Some of the best food I have ever eaten. The garlic bread was divine. We loved literally every single thing that we tried and we were blown away with the speedy service. Incredible restaurant. Can't wait to go back.
We had a wonderful dinner with friends at Benvenuti.
The service was absolutely remarkable (hat tip to Giuseppe). The food was very very good, not out of this world uniquely outstanding, but really good. Like many places we eat, we found that the appetizers and the desserts were stronger than the entrees, which were good, but not outstanding.
The ambiance was perfect. We sat for a long time and never felt rushed. Noise level allowed us to have a normal conversation.
Value was OK, as long as you appreciate that there are a lot of other places in Walnut Creek that are silly overpriced. Of note, corkage was only $15.
Bad news. !!
Authentic, house made pastas, great salad offerings and great waitstaff! Very enjoyable experience!
We love this restaurant. The food is fantastic and so is the service. They are remarkably child friendly too!
Absolutely incredible! My wife and I have been all over Italy, and the service and food here is spot on. As soon as you check in, you're transported to Italy; you're greeted heartily. You're escorted to your table, and that's where the magic continues. Our server was nothing short of amazing. So enthusiastic, so helpful, so happy. The food (especially the house-made pasta) was to die for. The dessert was (tiramisu), to quote our server, "life-changing". It was our first time there, and we were hosting guests from out of town. We all loved it, and it's become our new go-to for authentic Italian food and hospitality.
Service was not the best. Our server just dropped menus off and left. Never introduced herself. Had to flag her down ourself to order drinks. Our food took 45+ to arrive after ordering. Probably won’t be coming back.
Food was excellent. They say us right away and the service throughout was excellent. Good wine list and great Manhattans. Cauliflower appetizer was terrific.
Food was very slow to come out. We sat down at 6:00, had a drink and an appetizer, but entre didn't arrive to the table until 7:40.
Great food, warm service. We all had a great dinner and will definitely come back!
Been here numerous times, too many to count and NEVER disappointed. Sat at the bar and enjoyed an amazing cocktail made by mixologist Vincenzo! We had Guiseppe as our server who goes above and beyond and describes food like i've never heard before. Angela makes the most delicious deserts topped off with Vincenzo's Espresso Martini...The entire staff at Benvenuti make you feel like you're at a quaint restaurant in Italy...Salute!!
Owner Angela, employees, food, the best! We were made to feel very welcome
Everything was perfect except the noise level. We will come back!
The best lasagna anywhere!!
Love this restaurant! We come often, the food is delicious and we always have a wonderful dinner.
Benvenuti, when it was Salvatores, was THE BEST ITALIAN Restaurant in the area. Now, even tho a lot of the same people, the food is ...inconsistent at best. Getting the order correct is at about 50%. The menu is inflexible and has deleted some of the previous favorites. I have done a little research with people I know loved Salvatore's and have eaten at Benvenuti's and have received the exact same comments.
This is a real loss to us, this restaurant used to be the "go to" restaurant when we had special guests in town. We wouldn't even eat there ourselves anymore...a tragic loss.
KEEP BRAISED SHORT RIB RAVIOLI ON YOUR WEEKLY MENU!!
Delicious house made pastas, recipes, desserts and wine. Wonderful service!
It was great
Been here few times, even before the renovation and name change, and it was bustling. Lately it’s been relaxed, even the menu has gone basic as well as the amount portion. For what we spent, there’s another place that my family will continue to go going forward, sad to say..This place needs to be consistent with new fresh menu specials including cocktails to keep customers coming back! So will see...
nice locally owned italian restaurant. We all had pasta dishes and all were very good. nice local vibe
Absolutely Fantastic! I would have given a perfect 5, except the waiter forgot to replenish the bread, even after we asked, but other than that, just perfect...they have a GREAT chef!
Delicious! We had the cod special and the raviolis with short rib meat and Caesar salads, all wonderful. The noisey atmosphere calmed down after 8pm but initially at 7:30 it was extreme
Terrific service and tasty food. It was our first time but we noted there were several regulars whose habits and preferences the staff obviously knew. Very welcoming.
Our meal was the best ever and with outstanding service too!
The grilled artichoke is one of the best we’ve ever had, followed by the handmade short rib ravioli.
We will definitely return! As tasty as dinners in Italy. Kudos to your chef!
Amazing food. My picky 11-year son loved the meatballs and the pasta meat sauce.
Seated 30 minutes after reservation
Main courses took a long long time to come out
Waiter had way too many tables to handle
Had to flag waiter to when we needed anything
Explorer - My husband and I have eaten here a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is excellent. I had a a fish dish with unique vegetables (e.g. purple colored cauliflower). My husband had a pasta dish that he ate very quickly as it was also quite good. Both entrees were served very hot. It's a good thing we made reservations as the place was packed. It was Sat. night on Mother's Day weekend.
We enjoyed the delicious food and very nice ambiance. We arrived by 5:15, and Benvenuti was extremely busy by 5:45 p.m., so if you have a post-dinner engagement, allow enough time. It was Mother's Day weekend, so perhaps that's why there so many big groups (6-10 or more), leading to service that was somewhat uneven. We would definitely go back for that wonderful food!
