The bread and butter, the pickles, the charcuterie, the filet mignon with peppercorn sauce, the fries, all so delicious. I highly recommend. Very friendly and attentive service as well.

I went on Christmas Eve it was totally rushed by the restaurant .I made an 830 reservation and they should not be taking reservations at that time. Management made me feel like I was at a McDonald’s hurry up hurry up hurry up . Ordered second glass of wine and got a quarter pour. Love this place but Christmas Eve was not good.

Outdoor dining they did not have heaters and took an hour and fifteen minutes to bring out food.

Could use one or two more space heaters but this mix the ideal- fully up to codes- outdoor experience! Order a soup and enjoy!

This restaurant feels safe to dine in New York at the moment. It is a bit cold but we didn't mind. Food is as good as pre-Covid-19. Service is great. The outdoor terrace that they built is very nice, elegant and follows the outdoor dining rules.

Every time I go to Benoit I remember why I love it so much. The tarte flambé is a must! So classic, so perfect! The steak tartare is delicious! The berry martini was so great! Don’t even get me started on all the incredible desserts!!!!! There’s literally nothing you can get that you won’t love. Feels like a perfect Parisian cafe with the most attentive and wonderful staff!!!!! GO NOW!!!!!

For a 2 courses meal we had to spend 2h30 seated at the table which wreck our Saturday afternoon

It was my last time going out to dinner in the city with my best friend before leaving to move to Colorado. What an incredible dinner and atmosphere. We were truly able to enjoy a spectacular last dinner as best friends together with the restaurant very eager to make it an incredible last experience and being extra flexible during the pandemic. Definitely recommend the filet mignon with the peppercorn sauce, the butternut squash soup, and a bottle of good Sancerre to accompany your meal. Thanks Benoit!

Had another outstanding meal at Benoit the other night. Food, wine, service, and ambience continue to be top-notch. Although they recognize me from past visits, I've noticed that ALL customers are treated professionally and with warm deference and respect. If you are new to this elegant French bistro, I would highly recommend ordering their authentic French onion soup, their to-die-for tarte flambé, the perfect escargots (no ugly shells), the foie gras pate, their delicious roast chicken, and their fresh king salmon, to name just a few. I am quite fussy about my bread, but their new bread supplier is a genius: it's world class - the very best on the planet. I rarely have room for dessert, but when I do, neither the chocolate soufflé nor their homemade profiteroles will disappoint! Also impressive is the caring way in which they've responded to the Covid situation: the dining room seating has been reconfigured to ensure a generous distance between tables, and additionally, unobtrusive partitions have been set up as well. Already looking forward to my next visit, as usual. :-)

Once again an excellent dining experience . This staff has pivoted extraordinarily well to adapt to a Covid world. Feet very safe dining indoors and outdoors. Staff is professional yet so welcoming and friendly . Food is Excellent as are cocktails and wine .we had the ribeye for two . Set bed with tasty frites and three sauces/ each one was exceptional/ felt I were in France. Very enjoyable and also great brunch spot .

Outdoor dining area was very cozy and well set up. Service was impeccable as always, and when our favorite wine was no longer on the wine list I was directed to an equally good bottle to share.

Absolutely love Benoit. They’ve done an amazing job adjusting to pandemic dining standards. The food is as perfect as always. Charcuterie, profiteroles, appetizers, all exceptional.

I love this restaurant-first outdoor and now indoors.
The service is always on point and the food is wonderful. My friend and I have gone there so much I think they know us now... they did a great job with their outdoor experience-you don’t feel like you are in midtown. It’s fabulous!

Very good or better in most areas... wine by the glass might benefit from some additional focus...
Trivial: if a party of 2 orders a burger and a side of frites, they should be informed that the burger is accompanied by frites

We went for a date there and while the food was great, and the waiter was as French as you would get, 0 small talk - straight into the business, we had a terrible table, something placed between two entrances of two buildings, a psychic reading and a nasty hallway- they did have the nice tables that you see on their website available but we couldn’t get them as it seems they were reserved for other people. Food was great, atmosphere was terrible so you might want to check twice how you want to spend your $200 on a dinner

I made mistake on date of reservation and hostess went over and above to still accommodate us and get us a table.

I was so disappointed by my dining experience at Benoit. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. We had a 4 pm reservation and ordered a charcuterie board( which was ok) it arrived fairly quickly. After an hour and fifteen minutes our entrees still had not arrived. I asked our waiter and he said they were coming. The food came and the grilled octopus was so cold it actually hurt my teeth. My daughter had the grilled chicken Caesar salad and her chicken was ice cold, as well. We decided to just pay and leave. During the time of COVID I am not sure that people want to spend extended amounts of time with a leisurely lunch\dinner. The outdoor seating at Benoit is actually in the bike lane so it is actually uncomfortable with the proximity to the bikers. But what was the worst part was the attitude of the waiter who actually told me after we had been there for 1 1/2 hours that if we were in a hurry that we should have told them in advance. He had two other customers... are you serious? Bad form Benoit. I will not return... there are way too many other great restaurants that need our support to support a bad one.

We knew eating a late lunch in the left lane of West 55th Street during a pandemic was never going to be fun, but it was worth it. I started with a chilled tomato soup and my wife had a tomato & peach salad, then we dove into a tarte flambée, which nearly filled us. We were going to get sandwiches but instead we decided to skip right to dessert -- Benoit profiteroles, which are tiny bite-sized creampuffs that come with a dish of warm chocolate syrup for dipping, fondue style. Every bite was wonderful, and we look forward to returning once indoor dining is legalized again in New York City.

Let's be honest not all restaurants are equal when we think about outdoor dining. Benoit's terrace is located between a busy one-way street and a bike path. It's noisy and dangerous. The noise level is particularly unpleasant coming from the traffic and the building construction happening on the other side of the street. Dangerous, because bikers go way too fast, conflicting with pedestrians who don't care about the bike lane. And with all the foot traffic around you should be a bit more cautious about your cellphone, wallet, and purse. The terrace itself is overly branded by "Veuve Clicquot", looking like a cheap pop-up on Governor Island...not to compare with Marea a few blocks up of course. Service: ordered a perrier with a slice of lemon (I am French) and a glass of rose....got only the perrier, my wife asked for house sparkling and iced coffee (L.A. girl)...got only her water. I don't think at a Ducasse's bistro I have to remind the waiter of my order. The food: The lobster roll was ok, but the Grilled lobster was swimming in melted butter, delicious, but with no bib and only a small disposable napkin...I ended up with butter on my face, my shirt, and my trouser (probably on the pedestrian behind me too) after opening the first claw. Rushed to the bathroom to clean my face. How can you serve tiny bits of dried french fries... I don't know, but they sure did.
Overall: unpleasant terrace, mediocre service, and food. I will continue to patron French-owned establishments during this awkward time but I will wait a bit more for Benoit.
