Service was excellent, with polite and experienced staff. Side dishes are overpriced versions of what you can buy in the freezer section of most supermarkets. (IE $16 canned mushrooms sauteed). Lobster Bisque was overdone, but had solid pieces of lobster which was nice. Steaks tasted great; 8 oz and 16 oz filet. Wine is seriously overpriced. $65 Bottle will go for $130. However, they have an amazing wine selection and whiskey selection!! Rare stuff on board. If money is no object then go ahead, but I'll save my money next time.

We have walked past Benny’s many times. Finally, during our most recent trip into town, we decided to give it a try. We are so glad we did! We had reservations for the dining room, but once there, chose to dine in the bar so we could enjoy the live jazz music. The atmosphere was very cozy with plenty of space between neighboring tables. The steaks were perfect and delicious and the mac and cheese was phenomenal! Great experience!

Went there on a Saturday night to celebrate 50th birthdays for 2 of our party of 7. Service was attentive but not suffocating. Servers were knowledgeable and pleasant—answered all of our questions with a smile, and re-did food orders (once to cook pork belly a bit crisper, and once to add a topping to a steak) without complaint. Drinks were refilled promptly—which is always appreciated! The food across the board was excellent. Everyone had some form of steak, and I think we had 1 monster side dish for each of us. Both of the mac & cheese dishes were decadent and delicious. A special shout out to the 5 layer chocolate cake. It’s the one all chocolate cakes should aspire to be. Just decadently rich. Perfection. Only minor quibble was the noise level. I’d been there before when it was less crowded, and was a bit surprised how loud it was on this night. It led to a more raucous ambience than I’d anticipated, but we all had an amazing time.

I've been to a number of steak houses in the city and among them Benny's paled in comparison. The service was average, no hiccups, with our order or anything but our server was inconsistent with his charisma between ourselves and other patrons in the room. Not that the food was bad, but for the amount of money spent, my finance and I expected a little bit more. We don't mind spending $200+ on a wonderful meal; we've done it at Maple & Ash, Bavette's and RPM Steak, all great experiences. However, based on the overall experience at Benny's, we feel we paid too much for such a bland and lackluster experience.

I have always wanted to go to Benny’s, once previously at the bar. My son had gone 3 years ago and had 5 star food and 5 star service for his 21st birthday. This time, the waiter was knowledgeable but didn’t make eye contact with my son (only talking to me) when he initially came to the table to address us. We were there at 5:30 & it wasn’t busy so he shouldn’t have been distracted. The food was great but things fell apart between the main course and clearing plates and asking us about coffee and dessert. We waited a long time for all of that. Kind of a bummer when at a high priced, fancy restaurant.

Food and service were excellent. Side portions were rather large. May want to consider smaller side portions for a party of two. Otherwise excellent experience.

Very consistent and a very good menu with something for everyone. The truffle fries are crispy and a must order. The natural steaks have a very good flavor similar to dry aged steaks even though they are wet aged.

Service was incredible. From the hostesses to the server, the busboy to the manager, exemplery. We went for Chicago Restuarant week lunch. Very good food, quiet for private discussions, lovely ambiance (no massive Chicago-steakhouse feel) and we had the fish and pasta specials - not steak! We'll be back.

The service was the shining aspect of this restaurant. Our server was very attentive and diligent. I just do not think the food was that great. Everything was okay. My children had the kid's steak meal and my husband had the bone in ribeye. I had the chicken dish (there's just one). My stomach did not do well after dinner. My family said the birthday smores dessert was great, but my stomach was already telling me not to dare. I think it is one of those restaurants that I just can't justify the price. I am willing to pay crazy money for an excellent meal, but this just wasn't one.

Our lunch was fantastic. The service was superior, and I would recommend to anyone looking fora good meal and some good wine.
