Had a very good time!!! The food was absolutely terrific! Will definitely be back!
First time at Benny’s! Won’t be the last! The bone in filet was cooked to perfection and the live music was fantastic.
We went to Benny's for my wife's birthday and were impressed from the beginning. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and the food was amazing! I would recommend Benny's if you are looking for a great steak and a great atmosphere.
We loved Benny's even though some folks warned us it was a "tourist trap". Uh... no. It was simply wonderful. Beautiful setting and absolutely outstanding wait staff. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the food. Although the food was very good, I couldn't call it outstanding - the steaks were good quality for sure but needed seasoning (go try a steak at Monteverde and compare them to here. They season their steaks perfectly.) My brussel sprouts were a little underdone. Everyone was very happy with their meals - it really was very good. The wine guy recommended a wonderful wine that we enjoyed. They have a beautiful bar area, too. My only disappointment was that we really couldn't hear the piano player in the restaurant. That would have been lovey.
The best steakhouse in Chicago! Dry-aged bone-in ribeye is owesome!
Everything was fantastic!! We will definitely go back.
Benny's is an excellent choice for an outstanding steak. The service is tops and they have a great wine list.
Amazing experience. Food wonderful. Service outstanding and highly knowledgeable server. Hidden gem.
4 couples from Detroit. We had a wonderful time and the staff was magnificent. Thank You for everything.
The meal was excellent as the streaks were cooked perfectly to our desired temperatures. They had a new gluten free bread that I really enjoyed and I’m grateful they continue to provide those options given my dietary restrictions. Luisa was our server and she was amazing as always. Overall, it was a very enjoyable meal.
The food was good except my crab legs were cold and didn’t taste “fresh”.The service was terrible. Our waitress was extremely rude and stuck up. She made me and my friends feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I definitely would not recommend this restaurant there are many other high quality restaurants nearby with welcoming service.
Excellent service and food. Was our first time taking our kids to a nice steak house and it was amazing!
Excellent food, attentive service, and they brought me a birthday cake. Fun night out
My husband and I are big steak fans, we have worked our way through some of the best steakhouses in Chicago and Benny's was next on our list. We decided to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of our first date there. The atmosphere was contemporary and comfortable, romantic but still well-lit. We were extremely happy with the service and hospitality we were shown. The cocktails and salad we had were good and the maple glazed bacon was amazing. However, as we came here for the steak we were disappointed that our steaks were underwhelming. We always order a dry aged bone-in ribeye, my steak was slightly over cooked but overall they lacked flavor and we chewy at times. We actually preferred the bacon to the steak. I would definitely return for their happy hour and maybe to try something else on the menu.
Looking at the menu online, I liked the selection they offered. We went because this was such a highly-rated steak restaurant (Top 3 in Chicago by dome measures). I liked the live Jazz duo (Piano and Bass) that was performing. We were anticipating an exceptional meal, and it was only ordinary. IMO, we have better at home. We ordered cocktails (Cosmo and Whiskey Sour). Ignoring the fact that they brought an Old Fashioned instead of a Whiskey Sour by mistake initially, neither of the drinks were particularly well made. For a shared appetizer, we had Oysters Rockefeller which were very good (although I've had better elsewhere). The bread basket was only OK. Prefer the bread at Hugo's for example. Ordered a glass of Cote'd Rhone which is quite good and a decent pour. We shared a Ribeye, au gratin cauliflower, and brussel sprouts. The sides were both good solid quality and generous portions but there was no "wow". The Ribeye was cooked to the proper temperature but was under-seasoned. I did ask for, and got salt (none on the table). Still it was not a particularly flavorful steak, which just should not happen at a steak restaurant. Regardless, it was certainly not exceptional, and I've made better at home on my gas grill only 2 weeks earlier. Service was awkward. Rarely was the a member of the wait-staff in eye shot when I needed them. Drinks took too long to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy. As there are probably 20 steak restaurants within 5 blocks, we will not be back to this one.
Great restaurant for a business dinner with fantastic food & service. However the prices are
for business or upper class.
Stiff competition for steak in Chicago, Benny’s is a cut above...excellent steaks, Kobi certified, great service...a must while in Chicago.
favorite spot for special occasions. great food, amazing service
We went to celebrate my daughters promotion at work from the time we got there our server was absolutely amazing !!! Food was outstanding!!!! And he followed dinner with a special dessert and 4 little mini chocolate martinis we had such a wonderful dinner and time this was our first time to Chicago and you guys definitely made it fantastic!!! Thank you so much for everything!!
The wait after being seated was quite long. The food wasn’t extra special for the pricing. We wouldn’t probably go back again.
気持ちよく美味しいステーキを食べさせてくれる良いお店です。安くはないけれど、シカゴのステーキを食べたい時にはお勧めです。
Staff was amazing. My daughter couldn't decide between mashed potatoes or mac and cheese and the host heard her and ended up bringing her both (one for no-charge). They also gave us a free dessert. Just fantastic customer service and wonderful food.
The food was amazing. By far the best steak I’ve had and the broccoli was delicious. My boyfriend’s lamb was perfect and he said best he has ever had.
We enjoyed our post-theater dinner at Benny's. The service was outstanding, the Kobe skirt steak was delicious, bone-in-ribeye great however not the best in the city, creamed spinach side excellent, wedge salad with good balance between toppings and lettuce, lobster bisque decent. Wine list extensive. There were families with kids during the early seating so the restaurant seems kid-friendly.
Thank you Benny's Chop House for a wonderful birthday celebration. The steaks and service were amazing. We would definitely recommend your beautiful restaurant.
I have eaten at Benny's a few times now and it is consistently excellent. They have wonderful steaks, cooked just as you ask (seems to be infrequent these days) and an exceptional wine list. I highly recommend Benny's for that special occasion.
Excellent steakhouse. Staff was courteous and friendly and the strip steak superb as were the sides. Would highly recommend
The restaurant appears tired if not worn out. Very noisy in the bar area. Although the food and service were OK, there are plenty of better options. The wine list, albeit extensive, is over priced at both high and mid ranges.
Loved the bacon appetizer, great service and quality steaks. Twice baked potato with truffle very good.
Food was excellent, service was attentive, choices were plentiful and portions were very large. We ordered 2 desserts for 3 people which was insane and sinful because there was so much left over. It was a very pleasant evening with knowledgeable staff and comfortable surroundings.
Went with a special lady and had an absolute blast. The service was on 10 all night long and the steak was done perfectly. The Sommelier was amazing and on point with the selection of our bottle of wine for the evening. Definitely plan to return and thank you for making the evening a perfect one!
Mitchell is a fabulous Manager and Host. He is an absolute pro who brings out the best in his team. Kierstin is always our go to - accomplished, entertaining, knowledgeable and helpful.
We do, however, miss Natalie. Please have her return. She is such beautiful person with fresh energy and Benny's is not the same without her as part of the team.
Benny's never fails to disappoint. Took my sister out for her birthday and she loved it.
My entire experience at Benny’s was very good and positive. Very attentive, professional, and courteous staff. The food quality was incredible, but expected at this price point. I was a little taken back that the steak options did not come with a side option, but I understand that is consistent with other restaurants of this caliber. I selected the 10 oz Natural Filet Mignon with a side of red wine demi. I had a baked potato, which was a $9.99 charge (seemed high to me), but was a large potato that two people could easily split. The potato came with all the fixings...cheese, sour cream, butter, bacon, green onion. The atmosphere was nice and comfortable, maybe a little too noisy at times. I was disappointed that I couldn’t hear the piano being played downstairs while being sat upstairs. In fairness to Benny’s, I didn’t make this requirement known otherwise I’m sure they would have accommodated.
I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting a special night out and is willing to pay $150 and up for two meals. We did not have any alcohol, so with that in play, the bill would have readily been $200+. The service, atmosphere, and food quality justified the cost, but throwing in a potato or side option with the cost of the steak doesn’t seem all that unreasonable to me.
Overall, a nice treat and a positive experience!
Incredible steak house. I live in NYC and have done every steak house in the city, this could possibly be the best steakhouse I’ve ever been to. Caesar was an awesome server. Incredible evening!
It was very noisy. The atmosphere is set up for it to be a relaxing and intimate place. My husband enjoyed every bit of his meal which was scallops and I had the pork chop which was very fatty. Other thank those things we had a good time!
really good food with great service
would highly recommend
This was not our first experience here and I will say that while the food was better this time the service was less personalized than our last visit which was extraordinary
The food was delicious, but we had a terrible experience with our server. She didn’t really pay attention to us, and it took as long for us to get the bill as it did to order and eat. To top it off, when I was going to the restroom, our waitress and another employee looked at me (or possibly my boyfriend) and laughed and then I heard her say “Good one!” I’m not sure what they were talking about, but I got got the sense they were making fun of me. It was truly a horrible dining experience because of this!
