Excellent steak dinner! Sat inside. Service was very good and attentive. Managers came over several times to make sure everything was okay.

Ambiance outside very pleasant although there was a large party of 8-10 nearby who were very noisy. But that happens often on a Sat night. Big issue is the food. They need a new chef. Prices are high and should be of quality of other steakhouses but food (and drink pours) do not compare to Spark's on East 46th.

A little pricey but overall good

I have been dining at Benjamin’s for many occasions in the past and I had nothing but a great impression, but this time was unexpectedly disappointing. I ordered the Power Lunch for me and my guest. Both of our Sirloin steaks were very thin, tough to cut (even with the steak knives), very well done although we both ordered “medium”. I also requested a candle to celebrate my guest’s birthday in a Memo of Open Table reservation and I called ahead around 11:40 to confirm it. First, they couldn’t find my reservation, then confirmed it and the birthday request as well. When we got there, we were brought to the small table right near the entrance where there was notably the busiest traffic of passers-by and staff, so we requested to change the table a little far away from the entrance out of many empty tables. In addition to the very disappointing main course, my guest’s desert didn’t have a candle.

Dinner was fabulous. They do a great job with outdoor dining and steak is completely on par with Lugars without having to go to Brooklyn. I will be back

Had a quick last minute date night with my boyfriend, we were going to go to STK near by but we didn’t like the vibe. Even though we were dressed super casually, the staff was very welcoming and accommodating as soon as we walked in. It’s much more relaxed, quiet and dark at Benjamin. Highly recommended the crab cakes, thick cut bacon, Porterhouse for 2, Brussels sprouts and cheesecake for dessert!

Sent my parents for their wedding anniversary and they had a great time. They enjoyed their meal and had great service. We will be going back for ourselves soon!

As usual, Benjamin Prime never disappoints! We were fortunate to be one of the first people for indoor dining and the restaurant took all the necessary precautions to make the experience safe and pleasurable. Without a doubt the best steakhouse in the city - pre or post pandemic. The staff treats you like a FAMILY and goes above and beyond to provide one of the best dining experiences you can have. The $39 3 course lunch meal is a great steal. Crab cake wasn’t all that, but the sirloin steak was amazing. 10/10

I bought a dear friend out to lunch to a good New York Steakhouse. I had never been to Benjamin Steakhouse Prime before. We were thinking of the Price Fixed $39 lunch but I really wanted to sample what this restaurant really had to offer. We had 2 glasses of very nice red wine. The Porterhouse Steak for two wish home fries and spinach which was as good as it gets. Terrific! My former Boss had an appetizer bacon and tomato salad which was wonderful. I had the lobster bisque which was very good but the oyster cracker were a little stale. We had coffee and split a piece of key lime Pie for desert. The pie was a little old. We chalked in up to the lack of business during the pandemic. I spend a lot of money for this lunch and it was worth every penny. We both will go back again. Great steak!!!

From our initial hello to our parting goodbye, this was an amazing birthday celebration meal for three porterhouse snobs who have now been converted to 40th St. Benjamin Prime. As a first responder this was a special dinner to celebrate my past birthday and my sons and partners VIRGO birthdays. It was just the best celebration. Benjamin did a great job a making it a very COVID friendly environment and a top notch meal. Thank you.

Food was delicious! Very attentive, exceptional service. Really cute outdoor seating. They really put in their all to make it work & it shows. I wish this rest & so many other rests that are trying to stay afloat & survive all the success in the world. Rest business is already hard. I feel so bad for them. Land of the free?? Yea right! Much luck to them all.

Good news first: The truffled mashed potatoes and crispy brussels sprouts were the best I've ever had. I could go on about those mashed potatoes for days. Bad news: We had the porterhouse for two and filet mignon and they were meh. The filet was better than the porterhouse, but really... no seasoning, a little bit tough - there just wasn't a lot of flavor. For what they charge, it's just not worth it. The service was lovely, but we won't be back.

Very good food. I really enjoyed coming back to here. Very noisy with trucks and cars passing by but given the restaurant location, this need to be expected.

Great food and service, my family and I really enjoyed our time over there

The steak was fine but a little dry. I requested medium rare. The sea bass was fishy.

We never gave this place a second thought even though we live a couple of blocks away, but their outdoor dining setup is very impressive, so we figured why not. The service was wonderful and the food was just as good. A must if you’re in the neighborhood and worth traveling for as well. Support NYC restaurants!
