Server was rushing us to order food, eating and cleaning the table in a bad manner. She came by to tell us if we want something else coffee or dessert I said not for the moment maybe in a bit and immediately she said how you are going to paid one or two separate bills I said one but we are not leaving yet and insisted brought the 2 bills and left. We stay for 45min and nobody ask if we want something else or even fill our cup with water. Other than that good restaurant bad service experience.
It's a well kept secret more should know about.
We were excited to see a Cuban restaurant come to the area. The food was fine -- nothing special, but not bad, not authentic-tasting. They used an overpowering amount of green olives in the dishes, even the black beans. The mojitos and plantains were good. Service was spotty. The restaurant is also a tiny space next door to it's big sister Tin Lizzy's.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Beni’s. A casual meal with friends, and very friendly service
Excellent food and service. Definitely a place we will dine in again. Simple menu but not simple portions!
I had a reservation and they acted like they did not know. And the server skipped over us and served a table before us.
Nice atmosphere, and the food was tasty. Service could use improvement. Our server seated us, and she did not seem to be aware that the restaurant even takes reservations. During our meal, she was either overzealous or impatient for us to hurry, eat, and leave. (I suspect the latter.) At the end of the meal, I ordered coffee but she never brought it. Based on the food and the atmosphere, I'd give this place one more try.
We love Cuban food. Ordered the Puerco Asada and Vaca Frita on the lunch menu. Yucca fries were excellent. Nicely spiced. Great, easy lunch on a rainy day while out shopping.
They didn’t acknowledge my reservation.
The Puerco Asado was too salty to eat. The Ropa Vieja had too much vinegar and no raisins. They salted the fried plantains without asking.
I’ll not make the trip to Roswell to visit them again, there are much better options.
Great food and quick service. Drinks are good as well. Have eaten at Beni’s a few times, especially when last minute decision, and has always been a positive experience.
Sooooo good! And generous portions. Very reasonable. Bla k bean soup is worth the trip from anywhere! Had long cookbeef: vieja frita? Recommended by owner. Serves w plantains and rice. So delicious! Im going back & taking family!!
Pleasantly surprised. Food was great, drinks were great. Service was outstanding. Definitely will be back
This place was a great find. It’s been around for a little while but it gets lost in the other surrounding restaurants. The staff are very friendly and have a passion for the food. I had the yucca fries and pulled beef. It was so good. So much food for a great price. The empanadas were delicious. I liked the chicken and cheese the best. The waiter was so helpful and friendly. I plan to keep going back!
Nothing absolutely amazing that I must rush back for but definitely worth it when already at the Avenue. Nice that it's attached to Tin Lizzy's so you can technically order from either place. The only special they have is $5 margaritas on Mondays. No other specials. Was a little sad we went on a Tuesday ;)
The food is delicious and seasoned well. Service is great. It’s attached to — and part of Tin Lizzy’s — so there is extra measure of quality control. If it weren’t for Open Table, I never would have know about or tried them.
Beni's was a very pleasant, unexpected surprise. Nestled next to Tin Lizzie's I did not know what to expect. The portions were ample, the food was very good and the craft cocktails were delightful. Would come again without hesitation.
Nice place. Small. Food was good. Casual atmosphere - wouldn't choose this as a nice date-night type place, but good for lunch or maybe early dinner.
Good location within East Cobb area. Went there for lunch. My friend had soup and half a sandwich and I had a platter which comes with a soup, salad or side in addition to rice and plantains. We had the same soup of the day, which was a chicken and rice and it was very good; not too salty. My friend said his sandwich was very good, while I had the vaca frita (pulled beef with onions and peppers in the rice) which was also very tasty. I ended up taking much of it home. Both selecitons were based on recommendations from the helpful wait staff. Would definitely try again.
Decided to try Beni's when we received a coupon in the mail. Met another couple there on a Saturday night. My wife and I usually go out to dinner every Saturday night so the fact that Beni's took reservations was a plus. It is a small place and at 7:00 PM it did not appear that we needed reservations. However it filled up during the time we were there. The server was helpful since we did not know a lot about a Cuban menu. However when they brought the food they had all four orders plated wrong. A young fella from the Mexican restaurant next door got it straighten out reasonably quick. My dish was a little cool by the time they got everything sorted out but it was tasty. It appears that they are running two restaurants out of one Kitchen and are having some growing pains. We will try them again.
Food was excellent. One drink, hotel nationale, was perfect. Mojito, not so great. The mojito drinker at the table said the mojitos at Pappi’s were better. Our waiter was top notch!!
Good food. Not good value. I had a very small portion for the amount charged (vaca frita ). Being from Miami, I know the value of Cuban food. The food was very good and authentic. I would have loved to have had a flank steak, but it wasn’t in the menu. Our server was excellent!
Casual, nice atmosphere. Service was disorganized but staff was really friendly. Not bad enough where it was a deal-breaker, but could have been better. Food was enjoyed by meat-eating friends, but shrimp salad had very little flavor. Vegetarian options were limited, unfortunately.
Fantastic Mojitos!! ... just wanted to get that out of the way.
Four of us got together here for dinner and drinks before a movie. It was our first visit. Our experience got off to a great start with Beni's Mojitos. Best Mojito any of us had ever had. One of us tried he Havana Heat cocktail and it was also yummy! The food was excellent. We ordered Plantain Chips as an appetizer and they were surprisingly good. I wasn't sure, banana chips? But they were good. The garlic aioli and Beni's sauce they came with were very tasty. The entrees looked smaller than the usual restaurant entree, but it was plenty of food. I had the Ropa Vieja. Great flavor. Would definitely order again. (my only complaint was that I got a chunk of fat in one bite.) My husband had the Puerco Asado and loved it. The ambiance is very pleasant. The East Cobb location is an intimate place. It was full, but still quiet enough to have a pleasant conversation. The service was mostly great, but some of our drink orders took too long to arrive. Also learned that Beni's Cubano is owned by same group as Tin Lizzy.
Awesome food, pork dish was delish! Fried plantains are good choice too
Good food just good food. The drinks are good and the bread pudding is great.
By far the worst Cuban food I have ever had. Vaca Frita meat was chewy and tasteless. Rice was over cooked, beans had no taste.
We enjoy going to Beni’s.....seem to always get the Cuban sandwich! We’ve been 5-6 times....service was a little “off” this past time as I think they had some new staff and they were a little understaffed. We actually booked on Open Table and they gave away our reservation, so we ate at the bar, which was fine. We’ll be back!
Very friendly staff. Food is great. One of my favorites for everyday dining.
I was accidentally able to book a Reservation on open table when the restaurant was closed for a private party. The manager was very apologetic and accommodating. We were sat next door right away and were still able to order food from the Beni’s side.
We have decided to save Beni's for lunch. The dinner serving sizes are tiny and the service is spotty. We loved Beni's on our first visit months ago, the serving sizes seemed right for the price point and the service was good. But our first venture there for dinner was disappointing. We love the decor and ambiance, but the bartender serving a dinner table while the one other waitress worked all tables was frustrating. We had to ask for too many things too many times. As with all businesses that don't succeed in EC, it's usually the service and management not providing enough staff. The food is good, and the atmosphere is nice and takes you away with a good vibe. I hope the mgmt will step up the service and portions. The cost is decent for its location, but not for the portions you get on your main. Go for lunch I say.
It isn't the best Cuban food I've had (I'm Puerto Rican) but it was decent, the service was absolutely fantastic and the mojitos were delicious.
Best short ribs and bread pudding ever!!!
