Took my 11 year old grandson for his birthday. He invited a friend along and my wife also joined us. Great time had by all. Kids loved the show. Chef did extra to entertain the kids. Will be back often since I’ve got three grandkids!
It was just OK. Not special. Two adults and one child. $180. That’s a lot of money. The steak was OK. The scallops OK. The shrimp appetizer was good. The shrimp was good. The fried rice was above average.
This is a fun family dinner. The visuals far outweigh the food. My son said “ can we go to the fun Japanese place!”
Waitress was not interested in quality or expediency of her service. An automatic gratuity of %20 was not only not deserved but rude to impose.
Overpriced low quality food. Loud, Smokey atmosphere and poor service.
Try harder, I remember better.
First time there and the food and service was great!! Also reasonable priced!
We have eaten at Benihana before however something was different this time. First off, we were not seated at our Reservation time, the hostess was not very professional when communicating to us. Our server visited our table infrequently and seemed to forget the things she was supposed to bring when she did visit My glass had a crack in it and wasn't replaced until I reminded the waitress even though she had brought refills for other guests in the meantime. They actually make you pay extra for fried rice at a Japanese restaurant? The main course was tasty.
Just suggest kids how not be at a table if your coming to enjoy a couple night.
It was pretty good, but the soup was only maybe lukewarm. The service was slow, but the chef was great doing his hibachi show and tricks
Great service from our chef and waitress. Great food as usual.
Very good filet and chicken.
Hadn't been to Benihana's in years. The food was good, wait staff and chef were good, drinks were good, but I completely forgot about the seating arrangement. If you are a party of two, it's perfect, watch the chef and have a two person conversation, but if you are a party of four, don't expect to have a group conversation because we were seated in a straight line.
We were a bit worried about the past reviews but the service and food was great. We had absolutely no problems. It was a bit weird that an 18% gratuity is automatically added to any party size but I’m okay with that...just be aware that it is automatic. Food was good, service was great, I had absolutely no issues. The only negative I would have is that the location looks a bit old, inside needs a good cleaning esspecially the carpet.
Great everything! Love Benihana we go every year on our anniversary this time was our Birthdays. Thanks !!
We enjoyed ourselves very much!! Great water and chef!!
My family has been going to Benihana since my children were small. They cater to every age and food choice. They will custom make your food to order. I usually go for lunch and then evenings on special occasions. I highly recommend the hibachi experience. Great show.
The wait time die the check
The restaurant is dated and dingy (old stained carpet, dirty walls)
For the prices they charge, I would like a little bit more of a better maintained space and friendly staff
The hibachi chefs were very basic and showed no particular skill or showmanship while cooking, which is the point of hibachi style dinners
Gratuity is included in the bill, so there is no incentive for the staff to be friendly or accommodating.
The food was good, and was the only redeeming element of the restaurant.
There are many other hibachi restaurants in the area, I would strongly recommend any of those over this poorly managed franchise of what is supposed be a well rated chain.
Came for birthday voucher got changed 10.50 extra for something I didn’t order nice people at table w me and my son which was his first time at Benihana baby cried and cried and cried not fair to place people at table with kids should ask if that’s ok w other people so people can enjoy their meals my son didn’t enjoy the extra activity at the table at all
This place is old, dirty, but the food is consistent.
The manager refused to honor my birthday gift certificate because he stated I was there the night before. I received two birthday gift certificates and the numbers on the certificate were different.
Our server, Rosalita, was AMAZING!
Birthday for 6 year old granddaughter- was wonderful!
We arrived early for our reservation but the staff accommodated us right away. It was my daughters birthday, they brought her ice cream and a picture of our group.
Waitress was a little overwhelmed, she kept forgetting things that She forgot to bring to the table, like more, silverware, water,it was me and my husband birthday and another person birthday at the sitting she brought out one cup of ice cream for my husband and one for the other customer after about 10mins she realized she had forgot to bring one out for myself which looked like she just threw some ice cream and whipped cream on it also asked for some extra sauce was told I had to get it from downstairs waiting seemed like forever for the guy to give me a little cup he didn’t seem like he was in a good mood but overall was a decent evening was my husband first time visiting the restaurant so he enjoyed it so that’s all that Mattered and what was the reason for taking a picture do they put them on you page or what I thought I saw the other couple with a picture not sure just asking
As we are no strangers to Japan and Japanese fare in general, we were surprised and found this Benihana quite good. We moved from Seattle (fish! Seattle) so we are snobs to places that tout good hibachi or nigiri.... we had a great time despite our reservations of going. Food was wonderful....splendid..sublime.
Service amazing...ambiance could of been better...(but it is milwaukee...) overall, a complete rush to all senses! Loved it!
The worst hibachi restaurant I have been to. Extremely over priced. The building is old and looks outdated on the inside
Pick a busier time to go for more fun. Arrived and only 3 of us were there for the cooking experience. Food is outstanding as usual, still pricey. Staff was always on the spot.
Great food and atmosphere. Waited about 5 minutes beyond our reservation time which was no big deal. Will be back in the future.
We went for my nephew's 21st birthday and he had a great time -- we all did. Our cook was wonderful and our server was friendly. It was all of our first time there, but we would definitely go back.
Went for my birthday and they sing happy birthday to you which is embarrassing. But, after they take a picture of you and your friends, print it out for you, and put it in a little paper frame. The food was wonderful and the hibachi cook was very engaging.
Our experience as first timers here was horrible. Our shrimp was unseasoned and dry. Our chef had no enthusiasm at all. You would think for a group that contained children there would of been some sort of excitement but there was none at all from our chef. Also this is the only hibachi I've ever been too where neither fried rice or noodles are included With your meal. Plus you are not allowed to use the parking lot unless you pay 5 bucks, although you are eating at the facility. This was our first and definitely last time dining here.
Wait was too long. Only 2 chefs working tables. Waited over an hour to be seated for a 6:30 pm reservation. I do not plan to go back to this location.
After years of enjoying Benihana, in different cities, my Father's Day visit was absolutely horrible! My party had 5:30 pm reservations (which we were 5 minutes early for) and we didn't get seated until 6:30pm. We were completely ignored at the bar, and once seated, our inexperienced chef didn't give our table shrimp appetizers. Our table's meats were prepared 1st, which made it cold by the time we got our rice and veggies. Called to inform the manager, and she basically called me a liar, and defended the horrible service!! 2 other guests seated at our table, left 10 minutes after being seated because of the unprofessional service. Price doesn't match the service! Extremely disappointing!!! I wouldn't recommend Milwaukee Benihana ro anyone after such an unfortunate experience!
I would have given 5 stars across the board but the dining experience and the seating experience were two completely different events. The girl downstairs “seating” people was extremely rude and was giving every customer attitude, including us. She needs to go. If there was someone more friendly and experienced with handling customers correctly- it would have been an outstanding lunch.
Bad experience horrible staffing which don’t understand anything you are trying to explain.
Food was excellent! Wont go away hungry! Staff was friendly and attentive. Chef enjoyed cooking for us clever at the grill.
It was nice, but with the other area options, would not be my first choice. The service was slow, the order was wrong and the tip was not optional. It is an overall nice experience. The decor was a little dated, but the food was good. It was fun watching the chef cooking, but not worth the price or the wait.
I just assumed that Benihana was the piller of Hibachi restaurants and We were disappointed. We’ve visited several Hibachi restaurants and we just weren’t impressed. My steak was tough after I told him I wanted it cooked medium; he had to be prompted to take it off the grill. The ambiance and lighting wasn’t right, I was cold. I would give it 3 stars overall, wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great.
If you want a hibachi experience downtown, you can't go wrong with Benihana's.
The food was great, I loved the chef and we had the opportunity to meet new people.
We had a reservation and had to wait over 30 minutes to get seated. No one asked us why we were there to celebrate a birthday day. Service was definitely lacking for this location. We’ve had a much better experience at other Benihana’s.
Our service was outstanding. The chef and waitress made this a great experience!!
