We had a 8:15 pm reservation and did not get seated until after 9pm, food did not begin until nearly 10pm. It was a terrible experience, if I would have know I would have taken 3 hours to do dinner I would have never gone. The service was terrible and while the food was good everyone's mood was sour as we were all extremely hungry and service was taking so long.

Food was outstanding but waiter kept forgetting I was there. I was seated in an area away from the chefs doing the performance cooking by request. I just wanted to have a quiet dinner alone which was mostly just what I got and I enjoyed myself.

Pre pandemic service and food were great! Tonight, our soup and salad left a lot to be desired! We got the last of the soup for the night and it was cold. Salad portions were lite. Took an hour after reservation time to be seated and another hour for the chef to come out and cook. Didn't really get a "show" but our food was well prepared
Are reservation was at 6pm.... we didn’t get seated till 625pm......0ur server was really quick and got our drinks and soup and salad in a timely matter, he took our order but for whatever reason there was A delay with our cook?.....the cook came and turned on stove and then disappeared for what seemed like eternity. It was probably like 30 minutes.... he did finally come back and started cooking for. The food was delicious , but the long delay did almost ruin our experience
The hostess/ host were very rude & unprofessional & were selective on who they treated better than others which was discriminatory
Took over an hour and 10 minutes for the cook to arrive at table. Slow service. Felt like they were understaffed.
People in my table were complaining about the bill. My bill was brought late and the waiter took my phone to scan my Birthday discount. A different waiter brought my bill and was a jerk about me complaining. They took so long my to go ice cream melted so I left it on the table.
Wait time for out reservations was good , the chef and severs an all the attendants where excellent... we even had a manager come ask us how everything was going 👍🏻
Disappointed I can’t even lie. It seems like they grouped us with a party they assumed we were with because we were all black. I noticed Latinos sitting with Latinos, blacks sitting with blacks. Then the lady at our table had a screaming child, the cook was entertaining but did not make any sauces for us. No sauces, noisy, made this a one time visit.

Our chef and server were excellent. However, I don't understand how if you have a reservation, you still end up waiting 40 minutes to be seated. And this was at near opening not and the dinner rush.
This place is nice for special occasions, great food and entertainment while they cook the food in front of you.
First time there and it was a very bad experience it was my anniversary dinner celebration 🍾. Spent 200 dollars and had to wait 1hr and 15 mins on a reservation and wait for cook.order was wrong service took for ever!
Right from our arrival there were flies all over the restaurant. We were given the wrong drinks. We were charged the wrong amount. Overall it was not a great experience but I respect the staff for trying their best to accommodate us to their best of their ability.

Service was awful. After waiting over 30 minutes we were finally greeted by a server. No one came to check in with your table until I complained. We eventually received met a waiter who took our order we didn't get soup and salad till 855pm. I felt sorry for the guy whose birthday it was and first tim at Benihana. His experience was definitely one to remember not in a good way. I will not go back to this location
We waited 15 min to be seated for a reservation even though we arrived 10 min before. Waited an hour for the chef. The food quality and quantity was extremely poor.
Felt rushed when eating. We asked 3 different waiters for hot sauce and my husband's food got cold before getting the sauce. We got paper napkings while the rest of customers got cloth. Messed up our plate as well.
Enjoyed the ambiance and the social distance protocols that were practiced. Food was delicious.
We were supposed to have a reservation at 9:45 PM this past Sunday. We were asked to sit outside and wait for the host to sit us down that took like 15 minutes by the time we were in we were ask if we can wait for the other parties to arrive in order for us to get served! How dare there I didn’t even rest I came out at work I work in Glendale Galleria I came out of work headed directly to La Mirada to my boyfriends house he then told me babe we have reservation set for 9:45 PM I was excited I was thrilled I’m going there to try it out you know I mean I’ve never even been there so I thought to myself my boyfriend Is so sweet. I am hurt I am hurt and I am bothered and I do not ever want to go to this place in my life I recommend you guys to save your time and go somewhere more elegant or some where else.

Looks abandoned, disorganized. Didn’t really try to make it a thing for the people even if they can’t cook in front of you there was definitely a way they cld have inconporated from the table nxt. The rice was hard!! The flavors were good but definitely not worth it
We drove over 2 hours to take my niece to Benihanas for her first time. I did nothing but brag to her about how this is our favorite restaurant and how the show is always the best part of the experience. Our reservations were at 11:30am, I checked in at 11:10am we were not seated until almost 12:30pm. After being seated, we were ignored for about 15/20 minutes. We were finally greeted by our waitress. She took our drink and meal order, and the asked about appetizers. I let her know that I had questions about the ingredients in the rolls and we needed her expertise deciding on a few sushi rolls, and she told me to give her a few minutes. After she passed out our drinks I asked if I could just order the sushi rolls, and she held up her index finger asking me to wait. I waited, I waited so long, that I was never able to order any sushi rolls. Anyways, the kicker is that our food was not prepared at our table. I understand this was due to Covid, but what is the point if were not 6ft apart from other guests at our table? And I would have liked to know that the chef wasn't going to cook at our table because that was one of the main reasons I brought my niece for the whole experience. Service was trash and the food was not hot. We should have been notified upon check-in that the chef would have his back turned to us the entire time. I spoke with the manager on 04/24, and let her know how disappointed we were, and she said that we "should" have been notified upon check in. That was all. $250 wasted on this place. I think I will stick to Shogun from now on. At least they consider what the customer expects. Sorry, but looking at someone's back while being ignored in a very awkwardly quiet environment for subpar food is not what Benihanas has ever been about.
Hostess and staff at front desk are rude. Also, asked if due to COVID if the chefs cook in front of you and was told yes with a reservation but not true. There we no show and the chef cooked with his back to us on table on the other side.

From start to finish my dining experience was unsatisfactory and arduous. My reservation was scheduled for 8 pm for a party of 3 and I did not get seated until approximately 8:50 (and that’s being gracious) at a FILTHY table. The “manager” Louis gave us the Covid speech and ensure us our “server” Christian would be right with us. Christian took our drink and food orders and disappeared for 15mins. We remained drinkless, foodless, and without napkins or cutlery at a dirty table. The best part of this story is that Christian went home after he brought us soup in dirty bowls and failed to communicate that to us or his teammates. NEVER WILL I EVER RETURN TO THE DOWNEY LOCATION!
Mr. Hughes And his staff was outstanding we had a family passing after the funeral we all needed a bite to eat went right before 3pm and he accommodate it all 14 total
service was outstanding but one server stood out so much he should be rewarded such as Louis the manager
You guys gave the right people jobs jobs to take control and interact with Guest I did not mention one time we came from a funeral and they made us all feel happy and wanted I was so pleased that day I’m glad that I chose Benihana’s even though we have to wait it gave us time to talk and catch up on conversations our family has not had in years once again Louis Hughes and your bar Jabar Lewis needs a Pay raise promotion and he needs to be the person that trains the server and yes I made sure I asked for the name so I can take my time to give this review on them Because they made my whole family feel really special paid the right amount of attention and once again I love how they made sure to follow the CDC guidelines due to Covid!!!
We were informed when we arrived that the chef would not be preparing our food at our table but at a different table. It took an hour to get soup and salad. Our food was cold when we were served. The chef reheated our food but it wasn’t great. The manager gave us a 10% discount for the inconvenience.

Unfortunately everything took way too long. Reservations we’re at 8:45 and didn’t get in till 9:20. Drinks took more than 25 minutes to get. We were there for 3 hours just to have dinner. I’ve been to other locations and had a lot better service.
