Waited an hour with reservation for chef to cook our food. Drinks came after us sitting for 40 mins. Too many people for our table, 5 of us plus another party of 4. Manager refused to move us or them for more space.

Apparently they’re under new management and do not provide lunch prices on Friday. I’ve been a loyal customer for over a year, and I usually go on Fridays. This is very disappointing. The new manager was also rude. I’m not sure if I’ll be back.

It took us almost 3 hours to get in and out—with a reservation. Poor service; we waited long lengths of time without seeing the server. Cook was lackluster and low energy. Chicken was over cooked. Probably my worst Benihana experience (I’ve been countless times)

An off night at Bennys. Took 20 minutes to get seated 30 minutes to receive our drinks Almost 2 hours to get our meat. Veggies were really stingy… didn’t come with mushrooms as advertised on the menu and there was one onion and 5 slices of zucchini for the entire table. So stingy. All in all, it was a meal. But definitely not something to be excited about.

First and last time going to Benihana at this location I give the food a 5 and the customer service a 6.. the cook was all over the place my food wasn’t even cooked in order and the soup was ice cold… the lemonade was good tho ..

This was my first time dining at Benihana. I was apart of a small group of 5 there to celebrate my sisters birthday. Staff was friendly, welcoming and professional. I enjoyed our cook and the quality of the food. I should’ve come sooner!! Thanks Benihana…10 STARS!!

I got the birthday certificate, which came with more stipulations and rules then doing my taxes. I decided to deal with it, and went anyway. No where online is it specified that this is *Hibachi only* despite the reservation asking if I wanted a table or not. Nor does the online menu match the actual menu at all. I was very disappointed and felt misled/lied to, to simply get me in the door. Employees inside also we not understanding of being hard of hearing. The very loud atmosphere did not make it any easier to hear the workers. My partner and I ended up walking out before we even got our drinks. I'm not sure if the food lived up to the price, but for $6 just for a ramune, it's obvious there's intense upcharge. Very disappointed.

With reservation waited 30+ mins to be seated, waitress took over 30+ mins for drinks. Prior to check gave waitress bday coupon, took coupon and didn't add to check, took 30+ to tell us resolved. Issue is not resolved, we have 2 charges, 1 charge for full amount and the other for the amount with coupon used. Called yesterday told would all back, no call back. This is frustrating, there is no way a customer should have to keep following up for an over charge error to be refunded. If not resolved today we will be calling bank.

Our reservation was for 7:30 when we arrived they told us they were running about 30 minutes behind which they were very accurate with time us being seated at 8. The food was really good he put on a nice show for us the overall experience 9/10

Upon arrival at the restaurant around 1.15, I used The bathroom , the floor was very sticky and one of the two sinks looked like someone had thrown up in it and it had not been properly cleaned. There was no toilet paper holder so you just had to unravel by hand. Upon leaving the restaurant almost two hours later, the sink still looked the same.The restaurant was not at all busy. Our server took a long time to bring our drinks. When she brought the soup out, she placed it on a station And we could see the steam coming from the soup which prompted me to advise our guest who was visiting from overseas to be careful as the soup can be really hot. However, our server then decided to bring the station next to us their bill and wait while they processed their bill. The server then left to get our drinks( 2 waters and 2 Pepsi). By the time we got our soup it was barely warm. Long after we had finished our soup, our soup bowls had not been removed, so we had to remove them to the next just recently vacated station to make room for our food. Before we got our food, I requested a knife for my meal, the server advised me that they do not have knives, only plastic knives which I agreed to. , I never got one. When our chef ( who was awesome, Eric was his name) was getting ready to serve us our food, our server had not provided bowels for our rice, so chef had to run off to get bowls. Overall , I will not return to this Benihana, I wish our chef Eric much success as he really went all out to make this a very entertaining experience,

The menu boasts a six course meal. However, we were not given our dessert nor was it offered. The food is pricey so because of that, I feel you should be offered everything that's included. The server came to bring the check before the dessert. I felt we were being rushed.

I mentioned my DIL birthday when I made the reservation. I mentioned it again as we were seated, to the waiter and to the chef. They did NOTHING to acknowledge this So disappointing.

Wonderful food and service. Cook was great at cooking, despite the novelty, jokes and puns feeling a bit dated. No complaints on taste or quality. Drinks could arrive a bit faster tho, as that was a small negative. Other than a couple minor changes items, Benihana is still a Chicago gem and staple not to be missed.

I’ve been to few benihana… i think their food is not good as before. Average taste with expensive price, the service was so so so slow and not friendly at all. Since we were very hungry and i was in the mood for hibachi, we decided to go here but was a mistake. There’s a lot of hibachi places that less expensive with good taste.

Reservation was at 830pm got there at 820pm showed my email to show our reservation time and name it was under received the flashy thing. After 15min of waiting my husband whom is a police officer was asked to change his jersey lucky he had another shirt in the Car not to mention we drove an hour and an 15 minutes to get there. Fast forward shirt changed still sitting waiting on a 830 reservation we didn’t get a seat until 9pm which upset me because it was my birthday we wanted to see the hype about this particular place because the first time we attempted to eat there maybe two months ago it was packed and very unprofessional the host was cursing and talking like he was making deals on the street so we left. It was a long wait even after being seated. There were a total of 8 at our table my husband and I and a group of 6 everyone had chicken except me he had 3 chicken breast cut up for 7 men. Moral of the story I have never 👎🏽 been to a hibachi restaurant and didn’t have a Togo container. Prices are too high for the sample size serving we received we will stick with HOUSE OF KOBE IN MERRILLVILLE IN

The service took forever. We waited over 35 minutes for our drinks for half of our table to even get water, the other half literally got up and left. Then when the chef showed up, he didn’t have all the food he needed, so he put food on the grill, and we walked away for a good 5 minutes leaving the shrimp and chicken to burn and dry out. The male manager on staff (supposedly the head manager) was apologetic at first but then walked away and never returned. The bathrooms were disgusting - no soap, towels and toilet paper everywhere. I finally went to get the manager and found a female manager who just came on and basically told us she was very sorry and would do her best. The original male manager came back with our bills after another 15 minutes and when we pushed back on the whole experience, he nastily grabbed our bills out of our folios and stormed off. Very unprofessional, very disappointing. Will never be back.

Our server was Seven and he was very energetic and enthusiastic about serving us and helping us choose the best drinks on the menu. Our chef, Ardis was phenomenal!! I've had hibachi several times in my life, but I've never seen a chef put on a show while cooking like he did! Simply Amazing!! 2 thumbs up!!! Go here and ask for Seven and Ardis!
