Staff is arrogant and won't even por you a glass of water, I get the COVID precautions but this is a little excessive.
Service was at a 12 foot distance. Every question, order or request was only permitted when guests put their masks on again while seated at the table, even when food and or beverages already had been served. As a result, our party of 3 was constantly having to take masks on and off. Made for an awful dining experience. Will never go back here.
Very enjoyable dinner, excellent food inspired by traditional Italian cuisine. Interesting finds on the wine list. Service was understandably a bit aloof due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Outstanding dinner and service! Such a nice evening! Thank you.
They did a great job with social distancing. However, it does take away from the dining experience no fault of Benedetto. The food was good the drinks were good.
I have traditionally really liked Benedetto. But the menu has gotten very esoteric and a bit weird, and the service to start was atrocious. The first waiter had a unbelievably rude attitude and was so argumentative that before we even ordered a drink or looked at the menu I had to ask for a manager to get us a different waiter. The next one was terrific. I spoke to the owner, I’m not sure he gets it.
They are doing a remarkable job keeping everyone safe during Covid; not an easy task I’m sure.
Food was good, not great.
Not sure I would return.
Fantastic, creative food, well trained staff, great distancing and COVID protections. I can't say enough good things. The food is consistently fresh, local and interesting. We sat on the patio which was beautiful. It was a warm night and I understand they have heat lamps for when it gets colder. We throughly our enjoyed our night out and will go back!
This was a Covid dinner indoors-a little weird. Staff was somewhat standoffish, both literally and figuratively. With the limited menu and limited guests, we expected more attention and faster service than we got. Much better experience at Henrietta's Table .
Given covid, all seemed austere, which is understandable...
Hard to get the distancing with staff to feel OK - but what could be done about that anyway....i guess.
Food was fine.
As usual, the food was outstanding. But the outdoor arrangement was really good and made us feel totally comfortable.
Great outdoor dining experience. Have enjoyed wonderful dinners indoors too
Outstanding food and service. Ambience beautiful with outdoor seating and lovely heat lamps!
So nice of Chef Pagliearini to come over and say hello!
The outdoor seating is lovely and quiet. the menu is smaller than before pandemic, but that's to be expected. Service is outstandingly polite, helpful yet unobtrusive. We will come again soon.
Very friendly service, spacious outdoor dining during the pandemic. Nice family dinner out.
Wonderful to have Benedetto open on the patio at the Charles Hotel. It is a very sheltered space so good place for quiet conversation and enjoying the late summer/early fall evenings. Food was excellent, as always, and staff consumately professional.
They do a fabulous job with social distancing. Tables on the patio and courtyard are far apart. I felt really safe. Food was excellent (bass filet outstanding). Our sever Christine was a delight.
I had a delicious salad as a first course, a a mediocre dish of ravioli as the main course.
We enjoyed our meal a great deal; we are devoted customers and love the cooking. It had rained shortly before (this was last Wednesday), and we were seated out in the open area, but alas the seats had not been sufficiently wiped down so that we were quite damp.
Saw the Food Lens guide touting the melon prosciutto salad that looked beautiful and enticing (and healthy), so it prompted us to make reservations that day - best prosciutto ever, and I'm not even that big of a fan of prosciutto! All 4 meals and cocktails were stellar, and it was great to have the chef check on us.
The ratings are misleading. The food was mediocre at best.
COVID 19 dining means the tables are far apart so not much of an ambience. The service was a little slow to get started but improved through the meal. All the food was good with one exception. I had the Sea bass in a vegetable broth with gigante beans. The beans were not cooked and the vegetables were too al dente making them a little too crunchy for my liking.
In this time of change and uncertainty it is delightful to return to the consistency of Benedetto. I thought that eating on the patio would be isolating and not much fun. Wrong on both counts. The staff is respectful, mask wearing , and very welcoming.
The surroundings are peaceful with the conversations of other diners muted by social distancing while their smiles are visible.
The wine list and cocktails are creative and and pleasing. The food is just as delicious and creative as it has always been. House made foccacia is augmented with an array of tasting accompaniments. Fresh ingredients are used in unique ways. The fish filled ravioli was so highly recommended by our server that I has to try it and it was amazing. My husband was equally pleased by his strozzipreti pasta with pork belly and tomatoes.
Thank you for a lovely unique respite.
This was only our second time eating out since covid, but Benedetto and staff are amazing, professional and warm. The outdoor patio is well spaced and comfortable. The food, as always, is excellent! Can't miss the desserts here for sure. 10/10! Thank you!!
Outdoor dining is well set up to provide distance between tables. Food remains at high level of quality and staff do a nice job in making a positive dining experience.
Outdoor dining at a good restaurant is hard to find in the midst of the pandemic. This hit the spot!
Attentive and professional service. Safe and quiet table. And, to boot, food was well-prepared and delicious. Who could possibly ask for more.
We love Benedetto's. You can count on quality food, fun and delicious drinks, and great service.
Wonderful restaurant , great service every time, food always high quality ingredients , inventive and delicious. Chef is the best with vegetables I’ve ever seen. Sea bass pasta is amazing . Do not skip dessert!! Pastry chef is incredible. A consistently lovely experience
Amazing, as always! The food , drinks and service were impeccable . The chef and the bartender are so creative with their food and drinks. One of our favorite places❤️
Benedetto is Back
Our evening at Benedetto was the best night of quarantine. Lovely evening, comfortable seating on patio, absolutely stellar food. The service was careful and welcoming. Especially worth mentioning are the house cocktails B1B and the pineapple spritz. The tomato stone fruit cold stew with calamari and octopus is like a super gazpacho simply amazing. The pasta and focaccia were as outstanding as always. Blueberry polenta cake with ice cream and blueberry gelitan was sweet and refreshing.
We last ate here right before the shut down and it is good to know that chef Michael are back in great form.
Benedetto has always been an excellent experience.
Benedetto is always perfect. I highly recommend.
We had a wonderful dinner with fantastic wine. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the server gracious and attentive.
The restaurant did not live up to the high expectations that we had for it given its high rating. At the end of the meal, all the members of the party were disappointed. The food did not sparkle. One person had skate and they left most of it on their plate. The other couple felt the food was exceedingly rich. They thought there was a lot of butter being used. If so this is surprising for an Italian restaurant. The wine list by the glass was very limited. The most disappointing part of the meal was the service. The waiters/servers were constantly reaching over people at the table to serve the person to the right. There was definitely enough room that they could have walked around to the other person, they were just lazy or badly trained.
The pasta was delicious. The loin strip was served with a thick chunk of fat all along the strip. Service was very good.
Food was amazing. All four of us have it A++
We had a fabulous server who handled our food allergies like a pro.
Loved the gorgeous interior. The wine selection was varied and pleasing.
Didn’t want the dining experience to be over.
Christine was attentive and knowledgeable without being overbearing. The octopus dish is spectacular! Thank you!
The food was good but not great. The service at our dinner table was pleasant, however, after dinner drinks in the bar lounge area were served by a surly and brusque waitress.
Best pasta and salad. Nice ambiance.
