The quality of the food is over the top good. Wait staff is far superior to most restaurants that are in this price range. If it is available. order the crude fish appetizer. It is a raw fish served with cucumber and strawberries and literally melts in your mouth. The wine by the glass prices are a little high but order the Italian Mia Tia if you go. Worth the price. Overall, the friendly service and food here is spectacular. Worth a night out.
Outstanding!! Our party of four was shown to a nice table by a window. We had a lovely and very helpful server, necessary given all the categories on the menu and trying to assess the right amount to order. We started with the sfizi (small bites) and the antipasti, then one of us had a pasta main course, the others had fish. Every dish hit the mark. We will go back as often as we can.
Food was great as usual but the service was unbelievably slow. Would have ordered dessert but didn’t want to wait another hour.
We know we can always rely on Benedetto for an outstanding meal experience. It is the one place I can think of where the acoustics actually allow you to converse. We were just there to celebrate our anniversary. The servers are warm, professional, and really know their food and drink menu thoroughly. All the menu choices are tempting but I can never resist the home-made pasta choices. The wines are thoughtfully curated. All in all a class act! Bravo, Benedetto!
Consistently interesting and delicious food served in a nice setting. The service was great and the drinks were excellent.
Loved it! The tagliatelle pasta and chicken dish were amazing. Wonderful service as well.
Wonderful experience in every respect.
Our dinner was superb - an unusual meld of flavors both for the salad (the greens with radishes and delectable baby pea pods and pea tendrils. We both got the fresh halibut with rhubarb and grapes, which just got better and better as we ate. We sat on the patio and it was perfect!
The food, of course, was very good--fresh ingredients and well-prepared-- but perhaps a little too "elaborate" with additions that I don't think are necessary for great pasta dishes. Having lived and worked in Italy, I prefer keeping it simple--fresh, well-prepared--without the extras. What impressed me most, however, was the exceptional service and responsiveness of all of the staff--from receptionists, Stella, Tyler, bartender, room manager, and especially our server, Rocco. He accommodated all of our requests with impeccable care, attention, and personal engagement; he also made great menu suggestions. My friend and I had a really good time and definitely would like to return with other friends. We left feeling that Benedetto is "in gamba" (on the ball)!
Excellent service, food and ambiance.
Able to accommodate large party celebration.
The service was amazing and so was the food.
Chicken liver pâté and sardines were great appetizers .
Both Halibut and salmon fishes were very moist and flavorful .
Various pastas were all great.
Always save room for dessert as they are delicious and wonderful presentation.
Went to Benedetto before theater at the ART. Good looking, airy dining room, an indulgent and very charming waiter, and fine food. Plainly an excellent choice for pre-theater dinner.
Location on the patio was lovely. Seemed understaffed - service was somewhat slow and not very friendly. Drinks were excellent. Food was fine.
The restaurant was not completely packed yet the service took a very long time to get our food. The portions are small for the price, tasty, but small. Food was lukewarm when it arrived but so hungry that we ate it all. We were there for a birthday dinner yet no one gave us a dessert menu. Half the table had left and the rest was leaving, bill had been paid, and they brought a plate with a candle. Timing was waaaaaay off
Our first time. Benedetto is inside Charles Hotel. Everything was excellent. Dessert was a bit eclectic, not your run of the mill taste, but good. We would definitely go back.
Food and service was great. This is the quality of Giulia but so much easier to get a reservation here!
It was excellent all-around until I wanted a spoon for my pasta noodles and nobody was around to ask. That was the only flaw. Whenever noodles are served there should be an offer of a spoon.
Otherwise we had three servers with beautiful flexible service and fabulous food. We will go back!
Really refined and excellent food with each item a surprise in texture and quality
Christine is terrific!
Hadn’t been on a while and i had forgotten how good the food is and how extensive the wine list is. The pasta dishes were cooked perfectly and the fish and lamb dishes were excellent.
Linguine vongole was best I have ever had
Wine list extensive and fairly priced
A very nice evening
Small portions over priced and bizarre feedback on their wine selection
Great dinner in a comfortable space.
We had two different pasta dishes and both were excellent.
Service was very good and tables were far enough apart to ensure conversation.
We will return!
An amazing meal prepared by talented and creative chefs. Desserts are works of art so save room. A very delightful experience.
I can't wait to go back! Their options were fresh and seasonal. Started with a great cocktail, homemade pasta for dinner, and amazing dessert.
The excellent service by staff who knew the menu made our dinner extraordinary.
excellent service and atmosphere- pricy, but we knew that coming in
Potions were too small for the pastas
My son had 6 ravioli and was still hungry
Clams in pasta and veggie pasta too small as well
Tagliatelle was a fine size as were the appetizers
Great service, delicious food and lovely atmosphere. We our dinner immensely.
Was extremely loud but we were at a table close to the bar and the restaurant is large so farther away may have been ok. There just happened to be an extremely raucous group at the bar that night. Food is excellent.
Our party included an elderly woman who is very debilitated. The staff treated her and us with great
care and impeccable courtesy. It was her birthday and inscribed in chocolate on her dessert plate was
Happy Birthday and her name. She loves lamb and chocolate; her superb dinner included both. The
other two in our party enjoyed pasta dishes excellently prepared. We sat in the bar area which was
quiet with warm, low lighting. This ambiance invited conversation and relaxed dining. For special events
Benedetto is highly recommended.
Superb attention to every detail of our meal. A great culinary experience.
Excellent food and service, I highly recommend it, Guli
Great meal and experience; Christine made it even better!
This was our first time here. It’s in the old Rialto space in true Charles Hotel. Quite good we had a couple of the pastas and they were delicious. They have gluten free pasta available. Very nice space and service. Can be a bit loud when setting next to larger parties. Very deep Italian wine list. One of the very good restaurant options for Italian and for the area. Nice.
I was extremely disappointed with my Benedetto dining experience. Having had a wonderful dinner at its sister restaurant, Julia, and many fond memories of Rialto, I was looking forward to celebrating my friend's birthday here. The timing of our drink and first course was reasonable but the entrees never came. From time to time the server came by to apologize and at one point brought an appetizer of raw fish, which neither of us ate. At the end of the meal (which took 3 hours in total), she gave us some cookies to go and another apology. There are plenty of other great restaurants in Boston/Cambridge and I will opt for one of them next time.
We had a nice relaxing time with great cocktails and wine. The bolognaise was delicious and the strawberry berry gelato dessert was an excellent way to end the meal. Our server was delightful and atmosphere contributed to a great birthday celebration.
The food was fantastic- my boyfriend and I both happened to order vegetarian dishes and they were absolutely packed with flavor. The burrata appetizer, fusilli, and mushroom entree are all delicious. The desserts were beautiful and tasted amazing as well. I’ve been to Benedetto twice now and it’s a well-kept secret (for now at least!)
Best overall restaurant in the Boston area. Great quality and preparation and suitable for those seeking excellent and interesting food, not the usual salted, pickled and sweetened fare so many places are offering to avoid having to work at providing good dishes.
It was a lovely Easter dinner and our first time there! Thank you for the wonderful service!
