Benares - Tribeca
The staff was great food was amazing!! 😋 will be back!
It was great!
Unappreciated gem in NYC. Go now before it becomes another packed place in nyc.
If you only care about the quality of the food, you may enjoy Benares. But reservations mean nothing, the staff is not even apologetic when they inconvenience you, and expect upcharges on the bill. The lunch prix fixe said paratha and naan were included, but I and my guest were each charged $2 extra for requesting paratha. After being kept waiting over 10 minutes for out table that we had RESERVED, I was too done to start arguing over $4, but it seems to me they should have been looking for some small way to apologize to us, instead of tacking on extra charges. I will be visiting some of the other excellent choices in this area for Indian from now on. Not recommended.
Food was outstanding! Restaurant is simple and clean- but their food is what shines. Very good portions for the prices.
Excellent food and service
So wonderful! The gentleman that served us was fantastic. We had three Indian dishes all were equally amazing. The garlic naan was some of the best I’ve had. Highly recommend this place.
Food was delicious. Service was awesome!
Staff is amazing and the food was very flavorful! Enjoyed dinner very much that night :)
Great food and service! Excellent brunch 👌🏾
Not a business venue for lunch..they try to rush you..and seating is too congested..even with a reservation we were given a really bad seating area. Service is very average as well.
Excellent food with reasonable prices
Tasty food and great value for the neighborhood. Very noisy and service was spotty, though friendly. It looked like they were understaffed.
Amazing restaurant with authentic Indian food in the heart of downtown Manhattan.
Great food and fast/reasonably priced
Decent food. Very poor service, poor choice of music and too loud.
Had samosa and kadahi paneer, good taste. Slightly spicy but I was warned about it. Good for me, not for everyone.
Food was mediocre at best. I was dining with my kids and wife and asked for all of the items mild. It is as if they ignored that request entirely and brought out spicy dishes for everyone. Plus, bathrooms were disgusting and filthy. Would never go back and waste money on this dump.
excellent food, and wait staff, I would highly recommend
The food was delicious and the service was great. Highly recommend!
Great food. Good ambience and location. Would go there again.
Pathetic stale food. Poor service. Paneer was so chewy. Felt week old. Zero empathy towards customers
Nice atmosphere, although there was a shrieking child that the parents didn't seem to care about. Food was good - especially the chicken tikka masala - and plentiful. Overall, a good dining experience.
The restaurant flawlessly and graciously served our group of 12(!). Different dishes from spicy to plain to the delight of all.
This was the first time I came here for lunch. The lunch option was good but the portions are definitely smaller than the dinner.
This is a good place to come for business lunch. Also good price.
I definitely recommend eating dinner here if you're in the area and craving Indian.
They definitely do Indian food right here. I particularly love that they have a separate menu for the vegan options. The waiter was also very kind and generous to explain the vegan options.
I had the eggplant potato curry and roti. All the dishes came with rice. The curry, roti and rice was very delicious.
I enjoyed it so much that I came back for lunch today.
Delicious food. New interpretations on old classics.
Other than out garlic naan being delayed and then overcharged on our bill, this place has decent Indian food. Recommend if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat!
I give high marks for this restaurant, also menu has many options for vegetarians and vegans
I love this place!! Best food
Food was so delicious and the service was amazing! Service was attentive and the flavors of the food were great. They have lunch specials so it’s great for business lunches.
Yummy Indian, great wait staff and a really fun night.
Great value for tasty Indian food. Great for big groups and sharing different plates.
I enjoy Indian cuisine but a lot of the casual restaurants in my neighborhood don't have the ambiance that I'd like while enjoying a meal. They also don't offer wine. That's why I liked my dining experience at Benares. Besides serving good food, the ambiance was nice and they have a wine list. Now I know where to go when I want to enjoy Indian cuisine the way I'd like! I recommend Benares to diners.
Very good Indian food. Venue is alright, prices are a bit high.
Fantastic atmosphere and wonderful service. Everything was excellent
Great food for the neighborhood, excellent service
Used to be good.
Waitress didn’t knew anything about food
Quality of food worst
Kebabs in starters are microwaved and served
Great. Just do it.
