Great atmosphere, lively place. Menu seemed limited and my meal was okay not as satisfying as I thought it would be, I was expecting an explosion of flavors and looking forward to every bite. I would give the place another chance and try something else off the menu.
Fabulous dinner. Great service. Absolutely would recommend and go back!!
Recommended to me by a foody friend of mine! Best Salmon dish I’ve ever had, and I’ve had lots of salmon!! So good, in fact, I’m taking my sisters there for dinner this weekend!!
The staff is exemplary!! From hostess to server and beyond. They go the extra mile--and with a smile! And one of my primary enjoyments of dining out is good service. I have no complaints with the food --there is always something to enjoy--and my needs from the bartender are simple--a nice dry martini that tastes of juniper berries with the tiniest touch of a nice herbal vermouth and a lemon twist. Any more fluff and please don't call it a martini! And your bar delivers (Botanist gin). I would really love a reduction in the noise level. It is a bit much. We prefer to converse rather than text each other on cell phones. I live next door and am so happy you are here. Of course we are thrilled to be rid of the former scourge on the corner but both the State Hotel and Ben Paris are a more than welcome addition to our 'hood.
THE SERVICE THAT MY GROUP RECIEVED WAS ABSOLUTLY AMAZING AND PERSONABLE, however the food DOES NOT justify their price point. This was my ~10th time coming to Ben Paris and it seemed like the food was very "Buffet" styled... I just expected a bit more options and higher quality for $20+ a plate.
The Berger is no longer the same as when you first opened. The meat was awful with gristle.
The service poor and staff not knowledgeable.
Martini was served in a very ridiculous small glass.
Overall it was a great place for a brunch with out of town guests because it was high energy with great service. My dish (grain bowl) was okay. The rest of the table's food looked amazing but I tried a potato from my boyfriend's plate and it was crispy but underseasoned. So I'm going to guess the rest of the food was fine. But it was a super energetic, beautiful restaurant with good service. I'd go back just for the experience.
I think they were understaffed, the check in process was a bit chaotic. Since it’s attached to a hotel it seems like they could find a better place for guests to wait then right in the edges of tables of the seated guests.
The cadence of service was off, appie came after entree for one of our guests. Server was super nice, but the evening just felt a bit off kilter from the vibe of the staff.
Ben Paris was recommended to us by a friend who works in the industry and has a number of Chef friends. We were told it was up and coming and that they loved to eat there when they went out. it was also recommend that we order the Chef's menu (kind of a pre fixe) which we did. All I can say is that it was one great dish after another. the Pasta sheets in duck confit stood out, but so did the Carrots and brussel sprouts to start out. The Spanish octopus and salmon were delicisous, rich and over the top and the dessert took us beautifully through the end of our meal. We were happily extremely full but so glad we came!
This restaurant is in a great location, close to the market, shopping, and Belltown. A good but limited selection of meals. Some of the food we ordered was a little over seasoned. For instance, the mussels with sausage could have been much better if the broth allowed the mussels and sausage flavors take center stage, instead of the salt and spices. It's so much nicer if you can taste the main attraction. The wedge salad was well chilled, however 2 of the 3 sections of the lettuce were very brown and not at all edible. The 3rd section was nicely green, fresh tasting and not over dressed.
The steak was a little bit fatty. It should have been trimmed a little bit more carefully. The flavor was good and was cooked correctly, it was sad the large sections of chewy, grissly fat got in the way of nice piece of meat. The martinis had something added to them that made them have a somewhat sweet flavor which was a bit disconcerting, but maybe that was just the bartender being creative with his/her mixology skills.
This place was great! The food was so delicious and the potatoes are to die for. :) Will definitely visit again.
Every dish we ordered was outstanding and we can’t wait to return to try more. Also, our waiter was tremendous and charming and put us all in a great mood. Don’t miss the thousand layer cake for dessert!
Definitely get the French Press Coffee and Pastries after the meal -
It’s a very noisy & bright environment- not conducive to sipping on a glass of wine & talking to one’s table mates. The cauliflower & kale Caesar was excellent, as was the grilled octopus. The mussel main course was more sausage than mussels & the sausage was the dominant taste. The pasta duck confit was just so so w/out a lot of flavor. We weren’t tempted to order dessert & linger ...just ready to leave.
Food was great - menu has something for everyone. I had tuna salad bowl with caper-laced tuna salad marinated beans, pickled onion and crisp romaine. My companion had the falafel bowl with pickled onion, grains and greens. We both had cocktails from a very imaginative list! Ambiance was light and bright and clean. On'y small issue was with service - it was a pretty full room and she was the only server! Not her fault, and we were not in a hurry so it didn't matter much!
Forget the hype. Service good. Noise level high. Dressy casual....no early Seahawks Tees or Hoodie
Food. We picked the tour $60.00 per person. Two glasses of wine $ 22.00 per glass. This was not Quilcedia Creek Cab.
My salary ok. Carrots were the best of the evening
Steak. Tough chewy. No taste.
Overall. Overpriced for a down town cafe
$200.00. Capital Cafe. Metropolitan Grill way better value for money
I ordered the salmon omelette. The salmon was so strong and salty I had to remove it to even eat the omelet. The amount of salmon was very small so even if I had liked it , I still would have been disappointed. It was approx 1 heaping tablespoon, very little for $17.
This place has such good potential as the ambiance and food were wonderful, but the service left nothing to be desired. We were staying in the hotel above so went both for dinner and breakfast the next morning as we thought it might be due to them being busy the night before, but we were one of maybe 3 tables when we had breakfast and service was still terrible. Hoping they can turn it around because it's a great spot otherwise!
Excellent drinks, excellent service, they seemed pretty busy but our server Devon was amazing and very interactive.
I expected more. I've been here for lunch and it was great. On a date with my wife (which happens rarely) salad and entree came out at the exact same time. My appetizer came out after that. Service was really disappointing. I wish we had gone elsewhere.
Everything was delicious, and the service was excellent. They messed up my order, but what they brought me was so delicious I didn't mind. Even though I told them that I was pleased, they insisted on giving it to me for free. They went way above and beyond to make sure I was happy, and I definitely was.
Ricotta pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Our wonderful server gave us just the right amount of attention. Great dining experience.
The food was so great, drinks super fun, and service exceptional. Had the octopus, cauliflower Caesar, and poutine. My friend said the poutine was the best she had ever had. Will definitely be back.
Excellent drinks, delicious food, friendly service!
So beautiful! Food was great and service was excellent!
Great food, pretty place
We had the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, the Cauliflower Caesar and the Buttermilk Hush Puppies. All dishes were great...awesome flavor! It was very loud in the restaurant, however I would expect this from a restaurant that is attached to a hotel lobby.
Love so much about this place but the noise level was off the charts. Perhaps my mistake as it was a Friday night and 6:30....I wanted a more quiet intimate setting, but I heard more of the conversations at the tables next to me than my date!
Signature cocktails were very fun. All food was delicious.
Their Cobb salad is delicious....bacon pieces were substantial but this salad could have used far more chicken. Delicious dressing.
Food came quickly which made for an easy midweek lunch date.
Consistent delicious food. Everything came out fast. Portions are shareable and generous for the large plates. Service was on point and the ambiance is so charming. Highly recommend.
Great spot! Great menu..
Food was super average not worth the trip. We were super rushed throughout our meal
Excellent in all ways; our server Devon was attentive and funny, the food was exquisite and the ambience convivial. Thank you for a lovely dinner out.
Lovely wine choices too!
Very nice restaurant. Ambiance was good. A bit noisy because its all opened but service was good. A large drink menu is a bit overwhelming but lots to choose from. I liked they had some small plates. I did not try any of the larger ones. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.
Had read a few "best in Seattle" articles that mentioned Ben Paris so I was eager to try it out. The happy hour menu was limited and underwhelming. The hush puppies and fries were just plain boring and the accompanying sauces were the only saving grace. Probably won't bother going back.
I liked the restaurant very much but the noise level was too high. I would only recommend it if conversation wasn't important to the guest.
Such a nice location, ambience and overall great restaurant. We sat at the bar for Sunday brunch and were treated to the behind the scenes of the bar staff creating gorgeous masterpieces. Taylor in particular was incredibly engaging, just the right amount of banter, friendliness and master cocktail mixer. We will be back!
Delicious food, great ambiance, excellent service. We will be returning.
