Ce n’est malheureusement plus le notkins!!!! Menu semblable et aussi beau design et ambiance, mais la bouffe n’est plus aussi bonne et le service est terrible ! C’est dommage, j’adorais cette place !
It seemed like the energy was down at Sunday evening after a busy weekend. The oyster Guy was very friendly, the female waiter had an attitude I did not like.

Friendly, top quality oyster bar (and more) just north of old Montreal. Shuckers know their stuff here, and the selection of oyster varieties is quite good. In addition they offer other cru seafood as well. On my visit had half a dozen raw oysters of mixed types, then Belon's version of oysters Rockefeller - nice and cheesy. For main dish, I had a half pompano on the bone, broiled perfectly with crispy skin, accopmanied by redpeppers and zuchini, and a carrot ginger puree. Also had a very nice bottle of Gruner Veltliner, which not all restaurants stock. The female server was very helpful and nice; and I did sit at the bar and was able to chat and get advice on what oysters to get, etc, with the shucker. All in all, a very nice evening.
We waited for our RAW appetizers for over an hour, the calamari app was a joke, we got 5 rings for 17$???
We got there at 7:30 and left way past 11
We love eating here and actually invited some friends who have been dying to try it out, needless to say we were a little disappointed and embarrassed... we have been raving about this restaurant to them for 2 years and we finally go and it was a flop. We didn’t just come for the food, we came for a nice night out without kids...
The main dish took 2 hour, we were very hungry, and the server forgot to order it for us. Unacceptable
The server had an unfriendly vibe. They had run out of the wine we chose and didn't bother to recommend an alternative. Two of our guests were served first (mussels that needed to be eaten warm) and had time to finish before the other two were served. When asked for an explanation we were told that there was a big group upstairs. They did not serve our crab, we had to ask, and came back later to tell us they had run out. Jut a bad experience overall especially given the pricey menu. We felt like they didn't want us there. Would not recommend or go back. Too many good options in Montreal.
I had higher expectations since my experience was much better when it was “notkins”
Saturday evening 8:30, we were told that they no longer have lobster which is one of their mains on their menu. Then I asked for a second mojito and was told there was no more mint, but what was mostly disappointing is when we ordered the muscle and clam bake and got muscles only... waitress admitted she forgot to mention that there were no more CLAMS.
What DID they have left??? No apologies were made, we were charged full price even though we were never informed about the clams... waitress never even offered us the dessert menu! It’s a shame because it’s new management, but I would never recommend this restaurant.

Fresh sea urchin was excellent. Clam chowder had only 3 clams in the shell and no clams in the chowder, just potato and bacon. Very disappointing and at $15 extremely overpriced.
Really enjoyed our evening there, the food was fresh and good, they had creative choices on the menu, the music was not loud, our server was very polite, knew his menu very well and the service was just right not rushed. I would definitly recommend.

The lobster burger was fantastic. The scallop risotto was skimpy but tasty. We would go back for sure.

Food was fantastic and lots of seafood options. They put together a custom seafood platter for us with a bit everything and it was perfect. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The place has a cool vibe and energy to it. Will definitely go back!
Bad on all fronts.
They didn't have most of what was listed on their online menu, so some friends didn't get what they had come expecting to have.
The atmosphere was uptight without actually being classy. Lighting felt dank. Decor was pretentious (bathroom doors look like port-o-potty doors but inside is overly ornate. Really trying too hard to be clever)
The food was overpriced and bland at best. Portions were disappointing, clams were meh, fish in the fish tacos was probably frozen.
Our server was in our face when we didn't need him, but couldn't be found when we wanted to order, wanted the bill, or wanted to pay.
They young guys shucking oysters in front of us at the bar were probably the only good thing about the place. They were friendly and seemed to really be good at preparing and plating oysters.
The clientele looked like a bunch of blowhard businessmen with some money and no taste.
Montreal had so many amazing restaurants. There is no reason to waste time or money at notkins.

Très beau décor! Belle ambiance et confort des chaises. Fraîcheur des produits et belle présentation des assiettes.
On a commandé l'assiette à 100$ de fruits de mer... mais il y a avait autant de patates et de saucisses que de fruits de mer (1 homard et quelques moules ,et palourdes) et, élément étrange, un épi de blé d'Inde... Pas génial. Bref, un brin de déception pour le prix!
This place is slowly degrading, prices are higher overpriced in my opinion, menu not as inspired as it once was, service is not as professional as it once was and no more live DJ(at least when we went)
The decor and ambiance are still very unique and present.
The ingredients are fresh and so are the oysters.

Les huîtres étaient excellentes! Le repas d’arrivages Du jour, donc poisson etc était plutôt ordinaire, un peu trop cuit. Notre serveur était très patient et cherchait des solutions pour notre amie avec allergies , et il a fait un excellent travail!!
My potatoes weren’t cooked and the mushrooms weren’t great. I got the special and I was surprised that sides weren’t great. It was kind of amateur to have undercooked potatoes and to leave a woody stem attached to the mushroom topping. Halibut was good but fried and kind of heavy.
Merci à notre serveur Christophe qui s'est soucié de notre soirée. Il voulait s'assurer que l'on choisissent les meilleures huîtres pour nos goûts, le meilleur vin pour nos goûts divers et il a pris des photos de nous à notre demande même si ce n'est pas très tendance! Il a également monté le chauffage lorsqu'on lui a dit qu'on avait froid. Le resto nous a laissé prendre notre temps et ils nous ont laissé parler longtemps après le souper même si c'était un samedi et que certains restos poussent leurs clients à se dépêcher.
The food is amazing... soooo good if you are a seafood lover. We had the best seats on stools next to where the cooks prepare the oysters right in front of you. Would definitely go back.
My partner and I spent Valentine's Day here, and enjoyed an incredible seafood platter. The service was excellent and attentive, the ambiance was sophisticated but relaxed. We would love to come back here again, it's definitely a new favourite of ours!!
Valentines dinner. It was very nice but we never told that we wouldn’t be seated in the main area . Rather than go upstairs we chose to sit at the bar. Service and food was excellent though.

Amazing food! We ordered the calamari, Rockefeller oysters, fish tacos, and lobster mac and cheese to share between two. Everything was amazing and we can't wait to come back to try more. We recommend sitting at the oyster bar. We got to watch them prepare the huge seafood platters and the guy preparing them was so nice and talked with us and explained what he was doing. When we come back we're definitely ordering one of them. Great experience!

I love Notkins because it is the place in Montreal for seafood, not only for their amazing raw bar but also because you cannot go wrong with any dish on the menu. The restaurant is beautiful, the service is impeccable and the food is delicious. I highly recommend the New England clam bake!
The service could of been better. The waiter forgot a few items that we ordered and the the main dish was cold.

Oysters were great. The Main food is overrated. No spice or taste.
The food was very expensive factoring in this is fresh seafood. A lot of love and labour goes into the product but I don’t find there is value added because of this. Or rather many people would find it hard to lay out so much for a dinner . Restaurant is vibrant, seating is interactive as you can discuss the oyster prep with the staff . This makes it more interesting . Is the food wow ?? Not really. Is the seafood fresh ? Yes very and for a person who doesn’t love oysters I became a fan . Enjoyed the fresh scallops and I don’t usually love the texture either. Now I realize you must have it fresh to enjoy these delicacies. Staff was very friendly and eager to please. Difficult to find parking which is a negative. I think in the summer or nicer weather months this would be an ideal place to drink with friends and enjoy the freshest seafood .

Service was great abd foodcwas fabulous.
Malheureusement, nous avons été très déçus par notre expérience chez Notkins. sucre omniprésent dans les plats (noisettes très sucrées en entrée, noix de grenoble enrobées d'un centimètre de sucre - bonnes en dessert mais incongrues dans la salade de homard), salade détrempée et molle, palourdes ensablées, carte des vins sommaire, et facture plutôt salée...
Les huitres étaient bonnes! Heureusement notre serveur était très gentil. Il nous a offert notre deuxième verre constatant notre déception.
Dommage car nous avions entendu de bons commentaires...
