Great food, atmosphere and service. David Burke never disappoints
It was simply amazing
Food was great. Drinks not so much. Super loud.
Very enjoyable waiter was attentive and Ryan McMenamin was following up on every table
Great to see something this good coming to Belmar.
Made a second visit to this new Belmar and met the Chef/owner David Burke. Told him I was glad he opened in Belmar as it is an easier schlep than up to Rumson. The food is creative and well prepared. The same can be said for the drinks. Overall, it is a welcome addition to the Southern Monmouth dining scene.
The actual food is very good. That is not the problem. The problem is you sit for 45 minutes with nothing but water. You have already made a reservation. The wine by the glass since bottles are very overpriced and I don’t drink a whole bottle. is of poor quality and selection. David Burke is a master chef he needs to improve this wine list desperately. even the waiter couldn’t vouch for the Chardonnay or cabernets both of which I tried both of which were terrible. They rely on the ale house next-door which is good but I don’t like beer or a cocktail that does not go with a real dinner.
After receiving a flat bread 45 minutes later and tuna a sticky rice an hour and 20 minutes later you have already consumed more alcohol than you want which frankly at that point should be comped. The two it was delicious the sticky rice was literally 2 tablespoons for a thimbleful what are they thinking are they out for the night and scraping it out of the pot. come on guys I will not come back till I hear the service is better this is a continual problem and if you don’t have enough people in the kitchen start paying them better I don’t expect to spend this kind of money and be treated as though I’m at a hotdog stand. Ps. Our waiter was very Good but hassles and also operating as the bartender. They have a policy against carbon because their service is so poor? It does raise the question
Excellent addition to Belmar! Great food and excellent service. A bit pricey but nothing crazy. Perfect for date night or a family dinner.
Great meal from another David Burke establishment...one critique...it should be told that the brewery is seperate from the restaurant, meaning no flights, and only 6 beers to choose from.
The food was decent .. we had the tuna special and the skirt steak . Appetizers were good but a bit pricey for what you get.
The octopus salad was excellent ! Our waiter was not great. We were dining with friends we had not seen in months and he was more concerned about the two hour time limit which I could understand but there were many open tables and no one waiting, we were so frustrated with him we left to have drinks across the street instead of having them there.
Great service, delicious food!
Delicious food in a hip renovated space .
The local brews were very tasty too !
We highly recommend Belmar Kitchen. The meat and cheese board was delicious especially the fig jam. The restaurant was a real surprise, and didn’t know it existed- thanks to open table. Definitely will dining here often.
I wish they had more than 3 specially mixed drinks to choose from though
Absolutely loved it! We had lobster dumplings, short rib pizza, bacon in a clothesline and this incredibly delicious apple pie empanadas/donuts! Experience was wonderful!
Looking for something new, discovered the Belmar Kitchen. Was attracted by the fact that this is David Burke’s foray in the Belmar restaurant scene. This second floor venue overlooks Main Street. With a large bar, it offered a wide variety of wines, beers, and interesting cocktails. The food ranges from burgers and fries through creative pizzas through full entries. All is excellently prepared. The staff was solicitous. Recognize being a celebrity chef restaurant, portions tend to be smaller and prices tend to be higher. Over all a welcome addition to the Belmar restaurant scene.
Great service and food
Food was good, service was very slow.
Food was amazing. Service has some kinks to be worked out. The steak frites was great with an upgrade to hipster fries. The meat and cheese platter was a great start and the ice cream sandwich was a simple yet delicious dessert. The old fashioned was the perfect cocktail.
Great new addition to Belmar. Service was very friendly and food was excellent, especially the clothesline bacon. David Burke has a hit here!
Second time here. Great environment and a very good menu. Service started out great but fizzled out. We sat w our dinner plates for
Had the Bison Ragu Pappedelle......the fettuccini came out in a ball.... sat too long in the kitchen..... sauce wasn’t tasty......my wife had Pork Belly and it was lights out...... Couple next to use has Salmon and Tuna looked good....
I would give it another try
Our waiter Vince was great - and it was only his second day - management came bye to check on us a couple of times - which was great - the appetizers are fantastic- try the lobster apple
Excited to try this restaurant and it lived up to my expectations. We had the halibut, tuna and tuna special. All excellent! The watermelon salad was awesome and the profiteroles were good too. Looking forward to my next visit.
Great food in cool space!
Great food, drinks and desserts. Service was great as well
Pizzas were delicious esp short rib pizza, Flatbread was tasty. Drinks were good. Great service and ambiance.
Only disappointment was the clothesline bacon, was too fatty
You would figure if someone went out of their way to put in a brick oven, they would be able to make a decent pizza. In this case you would be wrong. The pizza stunk, but the apps and drinks made from local booze were good. So was the wild boar parpadelle. Will give it another shot, but was majorly disappointed by the pizza.
not many healthy choices on the menu; very small wine glasses and drinks as well
Great good and service. Nice decor and vibe.
We were the first people to be allowed to sit at the bar with the COVID restriction being lifted that day. Eric was taking care of us and he was wonderful! The whole night was great: the food, the service and the atmosphere. I am definitely coming back and bringing friends next time. Enjoy!
A welcome addition to the Belmar dining scene, featuring stellar food from David Burke. Located above the Beach Haus Brewery, next to its tavern, this unpretentious, casual, eatery features what I can only best describe upscale bar food. from start to finish, the food we ordered was outstanding. The Flatbread was deceptively simple in its menu description, but fresh and flavorful with each bite. It was the perfect compliment to the lobster dumplings which were outstanding, and gently bathed in an equally wonderful sauce. The short rib pizza was a stellar variation on a Jersey staple. A crisp crust, and short ribs which were tasty, without overwhelming the other ingredients. Chocolate chip dessert was heavenly. Our beers were cold and crisp. Service was impeccable. I visited on Thursday night in early May, just two weeks or so after their opening. Rest assured, this will justifiably become a "go to" place in Belmar.
Love the food, service, and music here!
We had the Lamb Chops and the Perch. both were very good.
We would recommend this restaurant. Food was really good. Loved the appetizers and dessert. My sons has the bison ragu pappardelle and said it was fantastic. Service was quick and friendly. Only problem is parking
Had a few issues but all taken care of; will definitely go back. interesting menu.
The drink menu is lacking and over priced. We were charged $17 for a spicy margarita - was basically a margarita with a jalapeno slice - and the drink wasn't even filled to the top!
The room is very noisy. The lobster dumplings were great as were the Wood-Fired Heirloom Carrots & Brussels Sprouts. Compliments. Exceptional.
The main dish - Branzino was good, not excellent. However the Spicy Oven Roasted Prawns - were a disaster. Virtually no flavor - no spice - actually was served barely luke warm. The "blistered tomato" - was nothing more than 2 cold large cherry tomatos cut in half. The shrimp dish was a waste of money. If you like David Burke, as we do, I highly recommend his restaurant in Sea Bright. Better atmosphere, better drink menu and better overall food and dining experience.
Unfortunately they have a lot of kinks to work out. Service was very slow and not very attentive. Food was ok not up to a level expected from David Burke. Have eaten in many of his restaurants/ pop ups. The watermelon in the watermelon salad was frozen, lamb chops not seasoned well and lacked flavor. Will give in another try but will wait awhile before we go.
Very nice. Good food, service & ambiance. Definitely will go back!
Taste, service, quality, comfort and unique menu!! Great bar service too. Loved it all! It was a bit noisy. But will definately go back. I’ve already made future reservations.
It was a really nice experience and the food was amazing!
