This place seems super underrated! The food was quite good (it’s not the most inventive menu but each dish was solid) and the service added to the experience. The decor tries a little too hard, but would be perfectly at home in Manhattan. Worth planning on if you want to be in LIC.
Food was very good, nice variety. Would have liked to see more veggie options for side dishes - but otherwise was great service, menu and atmosphere. We will be back.
The cocktails were some of the best we had in NYC
I’ve been here now 4 times. The food is exceptional, and the cocktails are great too!
This last time we went with a big party of people and had a great time as well, they were very accommodating, but service was a bit slow, we ordered a bunch of appetizers and they cane out one at a time. Overall gone run here! I’m sure it was a glitch that night.
Great menu and atmosphere, service is friendly and professional. Love the simple modern sharp decor. Amazing found in this area, great to pair with MoMA Ps1 visit.
Innovative menu, extremely welcoming staff and relaxed Queens neighborhood vibe. Service was very professional and polished. One of the best restaurants in LIC.
It's a little too loud, but overall a fun place - good for a group.
This place has become our new go-to and everyone needs a go-to in NY
The service was excellent and the restaurant is lovely (if loud). The cocktails are inventive and delicious. The watermelon salad with harissa vinaigrette was outstanding, as was the salmon. The flourless chocolate cake was perfect, and the coffee delicious, too. All thumbs up!
I thought the appetizers were great. The main courses were not as exciting and slightly over-prices for what they were, except for the patty melt, which was fair and very good!
The food was delicious! Good value and good quality!
Crunchiest salmon skin I have EVER had. Absolutely delicious. Creative and high-end cocktail menu. Great service.
Loved it, food was excellent. Already recommended to a friend.
The food was delicious and the staff was friendly and very helpful. I will definitely go back and would happily recommend it to friends.
As usual, the food doesn't disappoint. Very creative and always a bit of a twist on what one would think of as generic dishes like roast chicken. Once again, we had Nicholas for a waiter who never ceases to make every meal a pure delight. I always say that food and ambiance are only 2 thirds of the equation that makes an extraordinary food experience. With a waiter like Nicholas, the last third is more than satisfied and kudos to Bellwether for finding someone so wonderful.
The food is always on point and the drinks are spectacular. Also, Nick is the best waiter in New York City.
Wonderful restaurant in LIC. We ordered the parker rolls (freshly baked and delicious), the duck mousse (fantastic texture and flavor), avocado starter (SO GOOD - slices of avocado with delicious spread of seeds and oil spread across, then covered by one large and delicious housemade cracker), and the salmon (perfectly cooked including crispy skin). And service was very attentive and thoughtful. Will definitely be back soon!
Really nice clean space with outside seating. Friendly staff. Nice cocktail menu.
A wonderful experience in LIC. In particular, our waiter Nicholas was probably one of the nicest, friendliest and most welcoming waiters I've ever had the pleasure to have. Even though the food was spectacular, his service and attitude made the experience an absolute pleasure.
Always love Bellwether....Juan Pablo is a gifted chef.... enjoyed everything as usual and I’ve been there a bunch...good wine list and great cocktail list...
The Parker rolls.... I won’t comment, I might have to go get me some..
Try it... U too will be come a fan..
The food was not the same and the service was not the same either. I asked if the service was not great due to someone not showing up or being busier than expected. It appeared there was only 2 waiters for the whole restaurant.
Amazing brunch! The cocktails were fabulous. The chicken sandwich was great. Overall, the best brunch we’ve had in LIC.
My son has chosen this place to celebrate the end of 1st grade. I have to say he has a very good taste ... everything about this place is absolutely amazing ... the ambiance, the decor, the service and of course the food. We shared 4 appetizers among 3 adults and two kids - the charcuterie, shrimp tostadas, tuna avocado and the pate ... all were spot in ... especially the shrimp tostadas came in as an unexpected ceviche style and I almost ordered second serving. The mains were the pasta ragu, the gnocchi with meatballs that had a kick to them and patty melt ... all melting flavors, very elegantly done ... accompanied you a great wine and dessert at the end. We can’t to wait to come back again.
Found this restaurant by chance. The indoor dinning room is well proportioned and decorated. The menu is an interesting mix though a bit limited in my opinion. The flavors were exquisite and our favorite item was the duck liver mousse. Service is impeccable and the staff is a dream. Would recommend this restaurant again.
Food and service was even better than the last time we were there.
Lovely welcoming staff and solid l
The appetizers were wonderful. I had ordered the duck before and found it to be very good. This time it was overdone and quite dry. We ordered coffee, tea and dessert to finish off the meal. The server brought a slice of key lime pie but forgot the coffee and tea. Bad form--she may have been looking after many tables. This was my second time at Bellwether, not sure I would come again. I live and work in LIC, and like to spend time at local restaurants. However, it might be best to spend restaurant time and money in the city where you can pretty much count on a great meal.
We love this restaurant. We have been multiple times and it has never disappointed us. The staff is friendly and the cocktails are great. It is very pricey so be prepared.
Fantastic little place, so happy they’re in Long Island City. The food is just amazing!!
I was there for brunch with friends. Amazing food. In personal opinion, Bellwether has the best dishes for brunch around the area (i.e. better than the Michelin star restaurant Casa Enrique).
Bread pudding french toast was really delicious. I liked the beignets but my wife thought the were too buttery. My friend chicken sandwich was not very juicy and crust lacked salt. Also, the biscuit it came with was kind of dry. We would have liked to see more kids options (for example, there were no pancakes on the menu). Service and atmosphere were very good.
Still can get over the avocado appetizer and the tuna tartare. Absolutely delicious!
Entire team are so welcoming and friendly.
One of my favorite spots right now.
The ambiance and service were very good; however the food was okay so it seemed a bit overpriced.
Service was not very good. Food is good but really don’t want to go back, given the service
The food wasn’t really that great. But the restaurant is very nice and the service was good. Probably won’t go back.
The greeting at the door was delayed, even with folks right there at the podium. Wasn't the most welcoming. Our servers had to switch. The first was great, the second needed some reminding that we were his table now. The cocktails were good and the person bringing the cocktails was the most impressive service-wise. Food was a bit salty (carbonara-also the texture of the pasta was good, but clouded by texture of the sauce).
The ambiance is amazing and the staff is friendly! Food is great, plus easy access from Manhattan.
Really great starters and coctails (Haloumi is a great dish).
So this restaurant started off pretty well when it first came to the neighborhood. The portions were always a little on the small size for the price, but the food was good. Last night was my third time back over the last year and I was really disappointed. I started with a trumpet mushroom and leek appetizer. I'll take their word that the 3 rubbery, tasteless blobs on my plate that I could barely cut and chew were mushrooms. Pared with 3 slices of leeks and a pesto sauce, I'm honestly not sure what the point of this dish was, certainly there was nothing bringing it together, just a few totally under-cooked pieces of vegetables sitting on a sauce.
For my main I had the steak. I asked to replace the potatoes with a vegetable which they said they could do for an extra $2. They're not the only restaurant who does that, but I also think it's a bit cheeky. But it was fine. Except for those vegetables being so over-cooked as to almost be mushy. And this was broccoli rabe which really doesn't get anything from being mush. I had a couple of bites and left it. When they took my plate, my companion commented on my uneaten vegetable and I said it was mushy. The server said nothing and I was still charged the $2.
LIC increasingly has some good restaurants opening and there are some really great neighborhood stalwarts, there's no need to pay pretty high prices for mediocre food. I won't be back.
We went for brunch service was great cocktails outstanding and the food was very fresh and tasty can’t wait to go back for dinner
