Service was a little slow and the restaurant was not packed. Food was good as always.
Great neighborhood find! It was a delicious meal, we will be back.
Great food, great service and a perfect dinner/date spot
Nice and modern neighborhood place. Interesting and tasty menu selections. Food felt a little heavy but could have been what we ordered. Nice presentation. Great happy hour at the bar too!
Amazing service (Estefania was the best and so thoughtful), family and kid friendly, and of course the food is exceptional. We’re becoming regulars!
We were looking for a reservation late on a Saturday due to a mix up involving Google Assistant! We didn’t hold out much hope for a decent experience but this place proved us wrong. The food was excellent (my wife is vegetarian, sometimes a problem) but everything was interesting and tasty.
Wine menu wasn’t our priority but that looked good too.
Well done Bellwether....I am even prepared to overlook the misspelling!
So unique. The space is so clean and zen. The food is so flavorful and thoughtfully done.
Went here for my Valentine’s Day date night. The servers were kind but the first person who tried to seat me (I believe it was the manager) was a little overbearing. She seemed set on seating me by the doors when there were plenty of open tables towards the back of the restaurant. It was pretty close to freezing that night and I was in a dress so I didn’t want myself or my food to get cold. I had to ask a few times to be seated in the back. The food was alright, but was way too salty and overpriced for the portions. The menu is quite small and unimpressive. I paid a lot of money for salty food which was disappointed. The menu was so limited too. I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.
Service was very good and cocktails exceptional. My only nits are 1) First is with is the hangar steak. Cooked perfectly to medium rare, but why OH why did they have to ruin it with the artificial smoke flavored sauce that it was placed on top of? It made it borderline inedible. I took two bites and gave it to my husband. 2) It was Valentine’s Day, I get it...but the tables were literally on top of each other. We had to move the table just to get in and out to use the restrooms and disrupt the tables next to us. I’ll give this place another go sometime but not for any kind of occasion.
Absolutely superb food and cocktails, lovely space with beautiful moss wall, and v convenient to the 7. Can’t wait to return!!
For the price points of meal I expected a better dining experience. Nothing was “bad” but something was just off / missing
Creative food that is not bizarre. Excellent, low-key service.
Date night with my wife. Second time going back and it did not disappoint. Great service great drinks. Place was pippin’ off with a lot of people but still a great ambiance where you could hear yourself talk. Great drinks. The bartender Mike was on point. Food was so delicious. Will definitely be going back. This is going to become a regular spot.
Very accommodating with our little boy
Food was extremely disappointing.
This was my third time dining at Bellwether. It's so nice to have another NYC-feel restaurant in LIC. The decor, the food, you feel like you might be somewhere in the village if you didn't know differently. However, i will say all 3 times i've been there the service is lacking. The first time we luckily had a sympathetic sommelier (i think that's what he was) who made up for the lack of communication of the wait-staff by giving us each an extra glass of the bottle of wine we just finished. However, each time we're rarely checked on, the wait time between appetizer and food is too long, and even if there is a wait - no biggie, however we were never given any updates on this/didn't see our waitress the whole night. At one point the hostess had to come over to us and take a drink order. At first i thought they were still trying to work out kinks, being a new guy in town, however months later, it seems it still needs work.
Parking is a nightmare. The food was good nothing spectacular. The service was absolutely horrible. Waited over 15 minutes for a waiter to come over. The food took forever. Won’t be going back. This place is tiny. I don’t know what took so long for the waiter or the food. Disappointing.
Menu had many options and everything we tried was delicious.
Overall, a nice environment. A little bouije for my taste- the restaurant was smaller than I had pictured after looking at their website. They had a lobster tail add-on special for $25 which was delicious. We all got the mussels and artichoke/cheese dip that was really good. Cocktails were also very good. They seated us a little late, we had a reservation for 7:45pm and were seated about 7:55pm which wasn't a huge problem. Myself as well as three other friends got the hanger steak dish- the steak was dry and when I asked for steak sauce they did not have any, and instead gave me sauce they use for the lamp chops. Overall, I would give this restaurant a 3-4 out of 5 stars.
Food was spectacular and service was great. My new favorite place in LIC. Will definitely be back.
Excellent food and service. A bit loud and tight table space though not unexpected for a nice dinner spot. Next time we want to try the brunch menu.
We decided to stay local for Christmas Eve dinner since we had our son with us and could walk to the restaurant from home. We were pleasantly surprised by the food and the ambiance. It was all delicious. The drinks could have been prepared in more appropriate glassware but perhaps they were low due to business volume. Otherwise we were extremely happy and will definitely be returning. Thanks for a great holiday dinner Bellwether!
Outstanding meal. Generous portions that were very well prepared and presented
Great service! Our waiter remembered us from last time and I really appreciated that
Brunch with friends
Bellwether is a must-do for dining in LIC. it has everything from outstanding food with a variety of choices, friendly, attentive staff and great prices. We've dined there several times and the brunch is one of favorites. The beignets are warm, soft and tasty and they recently added a bacon, mushroom risotto which absolutely delectable. You can't go wrong here whether from brunch, dinner or just happy hour with a house specialty cocktail and an appetizer.
best french toast i've had in a long time. Service was superb. The amount of food you get for your money is outstanding.
The pork chop and butternut squash pasta were sex on a plate.
Had a great meal! Such an amazing restaurant!!
It was my first time at bellwether. The food was exceptional. Fresh and clean. The service was attending. On top of everything. A gem in the neighborhood.
The fried chicken sandwich was overcooked, hard, and tasteless, the biscuit almost tasted rancid!!! We were very disappointed.
We would have sent it back but we were with friends eating a d that would have put a damper on tne brunch for all.
Service was excellent.
The meltiest, fluffiest patty melt I ever had. Such a great addition to the LIC food scene. Will be back.
Delicious food; good service; cool looking restaurant.
One of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a while, from the excellent innovative cocktails, to the food, to the service.
I've enjoyed my experience here on multiple occasions, and would recommend this place to any friends.
Eve of Thanksgiving so not too busy, staff very attentive, food really good, short and sweet wine list. Just right for our get together, halfway between Williamsburg and Astoria where we respectively came from.
Really enjoyed my experience at Bellwether. Everything was about this restaurant was top notch. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great spot to eat or grab a drink in Long Island City.
What a gem to find in Long Island City. Took a business group for dinner and could not be happier with the restaurant. Service was good and food was outstanding. I will definitely be going back.
