The food and service is great. Food cooked perfectly and very delicious.
The food was delicious, but portions were small and I was still a little hungry when we left. Service left much to be desired.
It was a nice atmosphere and the waitress was very knowledgeable of the menu and able to describe very well the items on the menu. I would go back but it is a little pricey so only for special occasions. The food was good and we were full.
Great spot for preconcert dinner. They have a preset menu of apps and entrees for $29 guaranteed to be quick for those on tight schedule. Food was delish. Definitely consider the gnocchi carbonara as an app!!
Bellwether is my go to place for lunch. I like to bring friends that work downtown that have never been there before. Always good food and service.
Bellwether is the best - great food and service!
Food was great and our server (Blair) was fantastic! He made us special drinks which were great! Definitely will be back!
The utilitarian style decor--hard chairs, hard tables and walls with virtually no sound absorption made this place seem more like a cafeteria. The sound level was not so much energetic but more just annoying. The food was great but I think I will be sitting outside next time and it will be for lunch.
Charlotte was our waitress and she was phenomenal and attentive. The food was also delicious and ideally priced.
Important things first: The food was great -- interesting and well prepared. The ambiance is not so great. The chairs are not very comfortable and the ultra modern look with all hard surfaces makes it very noisy. That being said, we will definitely eat here again.
My husband and I had dinner at Bellwether before a symphony performance. We ordered off the pre-concert $29 price fixe menu. Both of us started with the mushroom bisque which was delicious. My husband ordered the short ribs for his entree and was pleased with his selection. I ordered the veggie green curry entree but it arrived missing the tempeh. Our server rectified the situation within 10 minutes. The curry was very good but not as flavorful as what I have had at our favorite Thai restaurant. We ordered the white of the day and red of the day happy hour wines to complement the food. At $5 per glass, both wines were perfectly acceptable. Bellwether offers very good food st reasonable prices in a central downtown location. We will be back!
We had a wonderful dinner and drinks! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and Colin, our server, was friendly and professional. Great addition for Jacksonville!
We have always found Bellwether is a great place to eat, relax and enjoy. We have never been rushed to hurry and order, and the food is always fresh and innovative.
Was a little noisy and once busy, service a little slow. Maybe more help needed at this time of the day.
The food was absolutely amazing. Obviously the ice cream was off the charts. I will definitely be back many times over again.
Have eaten here twice, both times the food is excellent. Also both times, after order is taken and several minutes later, we are told they are out of certain entrees we just ordered. A little odd before 6pm but the second choices were excellent. Love the Flounder of the day and the Salmon dishes especially. Service is spotty and somewhat slow. Drinks given to wrong people, items asked to be left off of plate served on the plate, etc. Convenient walking distance to Times Union Center.
Did I say great ??
Great place. Delicious food and great cocktails
Great food! Broccoli appetizer was a little cold which is rare from our past experience.
Our 1st visit here. Our server, David, was excellent. He provided specific descriptions about each dish that helped us decide what to order. Service was attentive, but not smothering. Food and drinks were delicious.
I eat there every week. Eventually one will assume one day, the hostess will actually have my table ready, and the waiter will remember what I am going to order for the 36th visit
I bring a new guest to eat there with me every time , ( maybe that’s why they don’t recognize me lol )
Other than that , one of my favorite places to eat
Booked reservation like I always do and they did not have me in the system. But here I am, leaving feedback for a meal I was supposed to be there for. While I am not mad, it was frustrating given the meal was supposed to be a treat for staff who are hourly employees and the time spent waiting to be told we were not on the list was ultimately wasted.
Crazy good food. Amazing service by Tailyn and we rarely get that well acquainted with our server but she was charming and lent a special air to our experience. We’ve told countless friends since that it’s worth the trip JUST to eat at Bellwether. It’s a Do Not Miss!
Bellwether is one of my favorite lunchtime places to go downtown during the week. I was meeting a friend that had never been before. I was glad that he enjoyed it as much as I did.
they have a great 'pre-theater' fixed price meal that is very affordable and has some great items on it. Their happy hour goes until 7:00 pm every day, which is nice.
My husband had short ribs, my daughter had salmon, and I had shrimp and grits, they were all excellent! We were seated immediately, and our waitress was delightful! The wine choices are good as well and we had a wonderful Cabernet. I love the sheep pictures scattered throughout!
Had a sister sister date of dinner and a concert at Daily’s Place. Everything at Bellwether was impeccable! Thanks, Dennis for such great service, and thanks to your chefstaff and bartenders for fabulous food and delicious drinks.
This place is easy to miss; the location is not well advertised. However, the food was fantastic and our server was outstanding. We will definitely be returning.
Second time in two weeks. Had the same waiter who is amazing! Food is great! Waiter is super helpful picking wine as well as craft cocktails. Highly recommend!
We chose to dine @ Bellweather since we were going to the symphony after. They offered a pre-show menu, which was a great idea. The food and service were excellent. Bellweather is a great asset to downtown JAX dining.
Our dinner was delicious and the service matched it. When my wine refill took longer than necessary, Jake, the mgr, offered us a free glass and complimentary dessert. (delicious carrot cake). the evening was perfect!
We went to Bellwether's before a night at the Times Union Center and were very impressed. Our server was wonderful in terms of recommendations and attentiveness. The food was excellent and the value on a bottle of their "featured" wine was really good. The only thing we might recommend are some cushions on the chairs :) - they are a little hard. Everything else was top notch and we're looking forward to coming back soon.
Creative takes on some classic dishes. They were all good. It is nice to have a new restaurant in downtown
We were in Jacksonville for a conference and had dinner with a group of five. This is a very relaxed and friendly restaurant with excellent cocktails and a menu that is interesting and elevated without being fussy or pretentious. If I lived in the area, I would be a regular. Highly recommend.
Everything was wonderful, friend atmosphere, server awesome, food very tasty, value outstanding!
I gave the Bellwether a second try after a disastrous first visit in which we didn’t stay to eat. The smoked brisket and chicken & dumplings were excellent. I’m glad we tried it again and that the restaurant was staffed appropriately.
On the way to the Elton John Show, we had dinner here. Our first time, we had a great meal. The bar had righteous Sazeracs during happy hour! Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and the food was great! We’ll be back!
Chicken thigh sandwich, which I’ve ordered several times before, was barely warm and extremely dry. We go here for convenience when going to shows at Times Union Center, but may be looking for a new go to restaurant.
Everyone was Welcoming. The server made some great food suggestions. Service was great. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will look for an excuse to go again.
