Love Bellota and I have been 4 times since their reopening. The paella is a must. So good. And while you're waiting, have the bravas (the best), the costilla (out of this world), the tortilla (better than any I've had in Spain), the anchovies (I'm not a fan of anchovies but I order these every time. Will make an anchovy lover out of anyone) and start with a signature cocktail. I could say so much more, but I'll leave you to explore the menu yourself. Everything is good, and the waitstaff is awesome. For a less robust noise level, ask for a booth. Makes a difference.
Lovely resultant and excellent service!! The decor inside is beautiful and parklet is cute with lots of heat lamps. As a vegetarian I was happy to see veggie pállela ! Good size variety on the tapas. It was expensive but a good experience.
Professional, attentive and knowledgeable staff, very nice ambiance. Food presentation as delicious as the taste. Excellent wine list.
It's my 3rd time back, the food never disappoints and the staff is always amazing :)
Such a warm welcome and all of the servers were efficient and friendly. I haven’t been here in a while and it was nice to know it’s still a terrific experience, food and service both stellar.
Amazing- couldn’t recommend higher. If you are craving a delicious Spanish experience, go here.
Great experience and outstanding food and service. One criticism: The outdoor eating area was great (though slightly out of level!); however I found the music was too loud for good conversation.
Bellota is good every time. The cocktails are always creative and delicious. Good wine list. Excellent tapas - good portion sizes. Worth the wait for the paella. Delicious. We've had Kim as a server several times and she is awesome.
Beautiful space, comfortable even in COVID, excellent service, great food
Outstanding!! Great service
Bellota is a reliably exceptional restaurant. The staff is always friendly & hits the balance of just the right check-ins on the table & not too much. We always think we haven't ordered enough food until it's arrived & then we're asking for to go bags or feeling really, really gluttonous if we haven't. I am super impressed with their parklet because while many restaurants scrambled to get one out, they clearly put time & resources together to make it reflect their elegant aesthetic.
My partner has celiac disease, and therefore cannot eat gluten. Our server completely understood what that meant and immediately identified those items on the menu that we should avoid. The food was excellent and all of the staff we interacted with were friendly, patient, and extremely helpful. Will absolutely be returning!
Great food, great atmosphere, fantastic ambience. Lots of fun. We'll definitely be back.
agree with other reviewer that food has gone downhill, paella bland and hardly any seafood. fewer pinxos than before. waiter said menu had been pared down during covid. understand staff shortages but chef needs to up the flavors
The food at Bellota has gone very downhill. I have been a regular for the past several years and was highly disappointed. The paella’s were undercooked and frankly lacked flavor. The tapas were mediocre at best and the churros for dessert were some of the worst I’ve ever had. Sad to say, I will not be coming back to Bellota.
It took a good 15 minutes and only after letting the manager know did we receive attention! The manager was very gracious and apologized and made up for being not acknowledged!
The food was outstanding and we enjoyed our dining experience! We also liked that they checked to make sure the patrons were all vaccinated!
We would absolutely recommend this restaurant and would come back!
Spectacular atmosphere with outstanding food and service. Just beautiful
We had a great
Excelente lugar para tener una cena con un grupo de amigos.
Bravas were a hit! Everything else (Paellas, Croquetas, Tortilla could've done without). Decent place to go once but likely won't be back.
Amazing food and service, they were very accommodating to our party that had increased after reservations were made. Very much appreciated!!
Sat in a booth, delicious cocktails, ordered the paella first because it take 40 mins. A great all around experience. Especially loved Tomate, costilla, and bravas!
Fantastic evening catching up with friends. First night out in over a year and so glad we chose Bellota. The staff made everything feel so comfortable. Waitstaff offered plenty of suggestions, all of which were spot on. Tried pretty much every tapa on the menu, as well as two paellas and desserts. Will definitely be back!
Service was excellent. Jerry is the best waiter. But the food lacked salt, some dishes were cold and the paella was mostly rice and the rice wasn’t crispy with deep flavor like it should be. Particularly for a $60 paella
We will go back one more time in 6 month and make a decision on writing a review.
So lovely, so fun. Went two Friday’s in a row - one with good friend, one with husband. Perfect return to going out more regularly - great drinks, amazing tapas! Great esp. now that SF requires vaccines which I do appreciate! Had the same waiter both Friday’s at a two top in the bar area - so professional and nice guy:)
- service was excellent, and visually the food was beautiful, but nothing could make up for the cardboard tasting food, there was no salt or flavor to any of the dishes we ordered. To add insult to injury, it has led to stomach upset issues the following day.
- same issue with drinks, I ordered an egg white based cocktail and it smelled funky. I’ve had several egg white based cocktails before and this was the first time it was funky.
- we told them we were celebrating a birthday and they made a note too, but we didn’t get anything celebratory out of the experience, we left disappointed and didn’t ask again given the taste less food
Would have given 5 stars if we'd eaten inside. Outside the wind was up and one person in our party was freezing. The heat lamps were ineffective. Dumpsters were being loaded noisily next door. The food, as always, was PRIMO!!!!! We loved everything and not a scrap was left on our plates. Will need to reserve earlier to make sure we're inside next time.
This is a favorite date night location for my boyfriend and I. We had a great time on Valentine's day before covid so we decided to come back once things opened up! Both times we ordered 4 small plates and the churros for dessert - it was the perfect amount of food. I loved the plate with roasted beats and my gin and tonic was delicious and lasted the whole meal.
required to put $25 to reserve an outdoor table. When we got there, we got placed in the bike lane???? We asked to be moved to the regular outdoor area with heat lamps and were told they would try. They proceeded to seat others in the regular outdoor area. We were very cold by the end. unimpressive.
Love this restaurant. Service was excellent. Ate outside to smoke since not the same as their beautiful indoor facility. Ordered the tomato salad which was great except I think a salt shaker was dumped in the greens. Really ruined it. Veg paella was good but that could have used more seasoning and herbs to make it more flavorful. Just an off night I think.
This is my 2nd time at Bellota. First time was 2-3 years ago and I’ve always wanted to come back. Had lunch then and this time we came for dinner for our 30th anniversary. Our son and daughter joined us and that made it special. The restaurant though did not bother with even a greeting when we checked in for a 6:30pm dinner (it’s not busy yet). They scrambled in checking our vaccination cards and IDs. I did not feel like they were happy we trekked to San Francisco to celebrate there. Hostess and host did not look you in the eye even for a brief welcome to Bellota. It wasn’t a great start. The vibe wasn’t very welcoming to me.
Our server was better eventually. But our table was “bused” so quickly though, that I felt rushed. Maybe turnover was important.
Food was good in general but short rib tapas and lechon belly tapas were on the dry side. The patatas bravas was the best of what we ordered.
Re the paella, we ordered the divida with Valenciana and Pulpo and a whole pan of the lechon. The Valenciana was the best one if the three. The lechon itself was dry, the pulpo was not memorable.
Anyway, I probably won’t have any reason to return or recommend the place because of the vibe and lack of a welcoming atmosphere. I think this is really important when people make an effort to dine and enjoy restaurants these times.
Hope the feedback is helpful to management.
Awesome place and awesome food! Paella was amazing!!
Great place with good food, but the paellas came a little bit burnt and could've used some extra flavor in there.
Have been here several times live the food and the drinks are good. Typically sit by the bar first time in the ‘dining room’. The noise was reflecting off the walls a lot more. It was a bit hard to have a conversation. Not the best for a date but we made it through ok.
My boyfriend and I went to dinner for his birthday. The authentic Spanish food was delicious, the location and decor beautiful, with a mix of modern chic and a little urban. The service was amazing, the attention to details was outstanding.
I absolutely recommend.
Really enjoyed the serrano ham and the pork belly.
Always a pleasure dining here. Great service, excellent food (croqetas for the win!) and a really nice selection of cocktails. Highly recommend.
Loved every aspect of it!
Always amazing and last night was one of my especially favorite meals there!
