A 30-seat full bar and lounge add to the convivial environment, where guests can enjoy live music, an all-Spanish wine list, sherry on tap, dry cider, and Spain’s cocktail of choice, gintonic.
The airy, urban Mediterranean interior features California bay laurel tabletops, custom Costa Brava Blue-colored leather chairs and booths, Moorish light pendants and brass table-lamps, a private dining room for parties and events, and seating around the open kitchen with a custom hearth, the heart and soul of Bellota.
Could not hear each other talk
Sommelier a bit arrogant
The staff is awesome and the food is delicious. The Cubano is a 10.
It’s really nice when you welcomed and remembered.
Another great meal at Bellota!
PAELLA to die for <3 although menu selections were not that many, the paellas are a must!
Cocktails are fun, food is delicious, but noise level for dinner was too loud. Really hard to have a conversation. Enjoyed our experience overall.
Wonderful waiter and great food.
I went to Bellota with my team and it was absolutely a fantastic experience. The noise level is energetic, but you can still have a conversation where everyone can be heard. There was also live music that added a lot to the ambience. Oh, and then there was the FOOD! It was so spectacular. Everything single thing on the menu was so incredibly delicious - steak, paella, charcuterie, brussel sprouts, just so delicious. I can't wait to come back.
Service was excellent.
Wonderful as always
Definitely one of my top ten favorites in San Francisco, hands down. The Black Squid Ink Paella is by far the best Paella I’ve ever had. And the service is always a pleasure.
Tapas and ribeye steak were very good and cocktails were creative.
Food was meh
Great service and delicious food!
fantastic sangria for us as it was my nieces first meal in San Francisco! lovely potatoes and sandwiches - very happy lunchtime!
Waiter got my drink order wrong all 4 times
Bellota has a decent atmosphere and could be a fun place to grab a drink with a friend. I felt that the hostess was rude but the waiter/server was quite nice and responsive so he made up for it. However, the food is a terrible value. They served what was probably the worst paella I've ever had. The rice was mushy and had no texture. Some of the appetizers were decent but because the portions of the main dishes were so small (and not very good) I would rate the food on the low end.
Delicious paella. Too loud to have a productive business conversation.
The Restaurant Week lunch menu is absolutely wonderful and not to be missed. Chef Robert outshines, once again.
a fun evening with great food, the best service. we shall be back
I had indicated on my reservations that it was for a birthday and none of the staff at Bellota acknowledged the occasion.
Went there for SF Restaurant Week 2020 and had their 2 course lunch menu. It was a great introduction of what they serve and it made me want to go back and experience the regular menu.
Outstanding food, loved the pixos cart. Great drink selection. All in all a memorable evening
Everything was great. Except the hostess upon my entering, barely acknowledged me and did not communicate. She left me standing there as she focused on her ipad. I finally asked if I check in with her and she said yes. It was a weird way to be greeted/non greeted. Otherwise, had a great experience.
Superb service, excellent food and a beautiful ambience.
Great food in a beautiful space. Good drink selection and perfect menu to choose something small and light or a heavier meal
I love Bellota! This is a great choice if you're looking for a fancy restaurant that provides value for its prices-- we felt super well taken care of and loved sitting at the bar with view of the kitchen. The cooks were casually putting together amazing dishes in the wood fired oven. We got a mixture of appetizers-- including the gambas and cauliflower dish. The gin & tonics are not to be missed, as well. Will definitely be returning!!
The interior is wonderful and the service was great with a lively atmosphere and its location is perfect, but the food at the price point is at best 3 stars, spent $437 for the four of us. A good portion of the food simply did not have that true Spanish flavor and a bit bland. if one is looking for a Spanish Tapas restaurant I would either suggest Alegrias or Bask in San Francisco or even La Marcha Tapas in Berkeley is a better value for great Tapas.
The Ambiance was fantastic however the food really did not align. We got the in Season Crab Paella and it was bland to be honest. It was $60 and truly there was HARDLY any crab. Very pretty. We enjoyed the atmosphere but ehhh overall.
Short ribs were excellent.
It was my first time dining here, and everyone had a great time from service, food, ambiance, etc. Will definitely be coming back!
I got poisoned, careless service will have me sick for weeks.
Great food, dessert and drinks. Always the best!
Smug service. The meatballs were barely warm as were the aranccini. Appeared to have been sitting around waiting for someone to serve them. Very disappointed as I keep hoping for a an authentic Spanish experience.
The food was uninspired and lacking any taste.
Would definitely eat here again. One of the best dinners I've had in quite a while.
The food and atmosphere are both fantastic!
Overall great experience. Our party of 4 especially liked the octopus, cauliflower, braves, and, of course, the Bellota ham!
We dined at Bellota on Monday for my husband’s birthday celebration, and it was a pleasant dinner experience. The restaurant was able to accommodate our party of 11 last minute, which was greatly appreciated. The tapas and drinks were tasty. The paella was decent. Bellota has a lovely ambience and was decorated for the festive holiday season. Next time, I will try an entree on the dinner menu as I had a bite of the T-bone steak, which was very good. It is a fun venue for large groups or a date night. Thanks, Bellota!
Outstanding. The food, the wine and the service
