Bellmónt Spanish Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
We visited the place for first time during Miami Spice, ambience is really nice and we were service by the owner which was very nice, the only problem was the food, specially the taste, being an Spanish restaurant the paella was far away from a good one, also the salmon need more taste and at the end the dessert was ok but not good either, flan de leche, hmmmm needs a lot of improvment, actually everything about food taste need a huge improvment.
The location is awesome, evethought they are under construction, service, decoration, is just the chef that needs to work in the taste.
We had seen the restaurant several times while dining at other restaurants in the area & were always wanting to check it out. We finally did & we were not disappointed. The food was excellent & the owner; Sergio & staff were very gracious & knowledgeable. Sergio recommended an excellent bottle of wine. Will definitely be going back.
We were there with another couple (4 in total). Arrived at 7pm, our reservation time and we had to wait like 20 min because they were not ready. They were setting up tables. The server was ok but did not made an effort to see how we were doing. Food took a while and the paellas were burned. Not crispy, burned. My friend couldn't eat it. My cochinito was bland. Wine was good. Our ticket was 448 dollars plus tip. We are not planning to return.
Highly recommended. I went for my birthday and our waitress who turned out to be the owner was extremely friendly and courteous. There was a live show/singer who interacted with the guests. Some of the food was a bit pricey but it tasted great!
Would come back anytime!
Very enjoyable. Good food. Very good entertainment.
Only flaw in our experience was the fly in the olive oil container. Actually was more the waiter being way too non-plussed about it, never even apologized for it.
Anyway we enjoyed the restaurant in spite and would return.
I went for Mother's Day with my family and the experience was horrible.
The service was very slow and unprofessional they took like 3 hours to bring their signature dish and it was over cooked. "Cochinillo", the "Paella" wasn't good either. The wine didn't have a good temperature "hot" the Sangria was straight out of a bottle from a liquor store. It was very disappointing and overrated. The only good thing about this place was the live music.
I have been there a few times. I am from out of town and try to go every time I'm here. The paella and Spanish hams are incredible. The proprietor, Sergio, is accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable. One of my favorites.
We chose Bellmont because it was near a theater we were attending and were in the mood for something different. We'd never had traditional Spanish cuisine. Turned out to be one of the best discoveries we've made in a long time.
We dined early, so I can't speak to the atmosphere later when the crowd is larger. Apparently, they have live entertainment on Fridays and "Flamenco Night" once a month, so I'm sure it gets pretty lively at times.
The hostess/owner/manager was very friendly and took the time to walk us through the extensive menu because we didn't know what many of the dishes were. There were something like 30 tapas options plus a full slate of entrees, many of which are prepared in a wood-fired oven. The house specialties are suckling pig and a traditional Spanish fish called hake. In addition, they offered beef, pork, seafood, paellas and one chicken dish in case nothing else appealed to you. They even had a couple of meats served on a hot lava rock so you could control the "doneness" right at the table.
I had seabass and my wife had a couple of the tapas. The food was prepared perfectly and tasted delicious. Every ingredient was light and fresh. The seasoning enhanced the foods instead of overpowering them.
The service was excellent on all levels. The dining room has a modern yet still elegant design with comfortable table arrangements.
There was not a single aspect of our dining experience that could have been improved. It was as close to perfect as you could reasonably hope for. We will definitely be dining there again.
4 tapas, 1 L of sangria, tip: $98.
The food was excellent. 7 pm no clients; by 8 pm only 2 more couples seating. I have no explanation why this place is not crowded since the food is the best among Spanish restaurants in CG, South Miami area.
The chairs are very comfortable.
Fantastic all around. Lovely room, friendly staff and amazing food. Very authentic Spanish food. Had the Iberico Mixte, a great assortment of ham, sausage, and loin with manchego. Delicious croquetas and piquillo peppers. Leg of lamb, pork loin and seafood paella were the main courses. The almond torte was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this restaurant.
We had a wonderful dinner and the service was excellent. The only sad thing is we came back the next day to have lunch and got there at 11:50 to find they were closed. The sign on the door said they were open at 11:30. We had to find another place to eat. If we are down in the Gables again we would certainly come back.
Great meal and wonderful ambiance. My first dish was lacking flavoring and spices (octopus). The solomillo steak was excellent and well-prepared. The hot plate is a great idea for cooking your meal to your liking. Overall, a good food experience but questionable on the loudness of the guitar and singer which could have been much better. Do one of two things, lower the volume or get a better singer. The service was great and we were attended throughout the evening. Space-wise, it is a little crowded but if it is not too busy, go for it.
This was a very strange experience. We arrived just at the time of our reservation but couldn't find parking so my partner went inside while I found a parking spot and although most tables were empty was told he would be seated when I arrived. When I got there we were ushered to a table and found that they assign tables as the reservations are made closer or farther from the stage (they have a flamenco show) and that is your table. Democratic enough and it became clear that this was it, one seating, one show, done!
The service was strange and slow. We got one menu when seated and had to flag down one of he waitresses who appeared to be more interested in entering information into their I- pads than on serving diners, to get the other one. The manager eventually came around and took our drink order and promised some bread which did not come for another twenty minutes. After a long while someone appeared to take our order and although everyone was nice enough they all seemed very rushed and out of breath. The food was so-so. The croquettes were more bechamel sauce than anything and rather tasteless and too browned. The manchego. anchovies and greens salad was pretty much inedible. My paella looked terrible when presented, like a burned plate of yellow rice with seafood but tasted OK. My partner's butterflied sea bass (lubina) was good as was the whisky tarte with turron ice cream for dessert. By the time we finished dinner the performers (who are very good by the way) had come and gone and the place was emptying out as was all of Miracle Mile. Apparently Coral Gables goes to bed early.
We tried Bellmónt with friends for the first time this Saturday evening... it was OUTSTANDING!!! The owners Sergio and Claudia were exceptional. They spent a significant amount of time with our table discussing the food and helping navigate the wine list. Their food, in particular the 5J's Jamon, croquetas, tortilla espanola, and patatas bravas were absolutely DELICIOUS. 5 stars across everything - a must try for business lunch or dinner - make sure to introduce yourself to the owners... they are just a great as the food!
The restaurant has a small and very attractive interior. Everyone is attentive, pleasant, eager to please and make you feel welcome. The menu is quite substantial and varied. We loved what we ordered and look forward to going back soon and trying more items. A definite local gem and a great find.
I was there for NYE and it was very crowded. The witers were running all over. However, the food was good in general although the bread was a bit burned. I had the Spanish suckling piglet and it was outstanding. The flamenco show was also very enjoyable and uplifting
I had high expectations of Bellmont and the entertainment. After our last few trips to Spain I was hopping to scratch an itch of good food flavors and ambience. Unfortunately the wait staff was pretty bad and we waited forever on food, drinks, refills. Dirty plates were left on our small table for 15-20 each course. It wasn't that busy to have such a pile up and slow service. The food was OK, seriously OK, nothing stood out in any dish. Charcuterie we ordered to start was boring, Paella flavorless except for salt the service awful. The entertainment was again OK, nothing to remember which is sad because I really wanted to LOVE this place. It would have been nice to have a little slice of Spain or Portugal near by.
