The food was well prepared and tasty to say the least. Make sure you order something different so you can share. Filet mignon was impeccable. I can't wait to go again. Kudos! Oh and the dessert. yum!!

I went with a friend who is a trained chef and she said it was of the best restaurants she had ever been to(and she has been around)

This is such a unique restaurant and the food is delicious. It's a 12 seat restaurant in Harlem, situated in a 300 square foot space, but amazingly you don't feel like you're on top of each other (or the chefs!)... The food was terrific and it was great to be able to interact with the owners and support a local business. Definitely worth a visit!

It is a unique place in NYC. You are sitting in the kitchen and can watch how they prepare your dish from fresh ingredients. The food is awesome and the service is good. You will love it!

The evening was a great disappointment. The menu was interesting and the restaurant concept intriguing but the actual meal itself was underwhelming and not worth the $100 per person we paid.

In brief, the lobster claw in my lobster small dish had the cartilage still in it, which cut the inside of my mouth. The steak was over cooked and a bit grainy. On top of that the owner was defensive and insulting and we felt uncomfortable for much of the evening.

Having read the reviews on this restaurant – and looked through the owners' website – we were really looking forward to our evening. To say we left disappointed is actually an understatement.

Excited about the creative concept of Belle Harlem, with interesting menu, nice wine selection, limited seating and cozy interaction with owners and chefs. Disappointed with extremely small entree portions with even skimpier accompaniments. Dessert portion was also minuscule.

The price point of this Resturant is very high considering the location. The portion is very small and the food quality does not warrant the price either. Restaurant is very small and the kitchen is in the same room. My clothes smelled of grease when we left.

Very good food. Unique seating. sort of in the kitchen which we liked. We felt very respected although people only spoke to us as needed. Culture in the kitchen (alert, relaxed, respectful) radiated to the customers. focus on food and restrained compassion very clear. sorry this sounds so bad. "restrained compassion?" (snort!) pay no attention to me. come and enjoy it. in ref to below we don't' take pics of food just not used to it.

Best, most creative dinner I've had in some time. Darryl has a great mind for foods that go together, and his execution is nothing short of beautiful. The intimacy of the place and meticulous design offer a unique experience - and both the neighborhood and city are lucky to have Belle Harlem. Hats off.

I came to Belle Harlem for the first time this week and had the most wonderful dining experience. The owner is not just an outstanding chef but a great host and teacher. I will definitely be back again. Food to die for; wine selection great; service excellent.
Remember reservations are must.

Special place, all 12 visitors seats on the same table. The chef cook in front of you but he is very limited with the resource therefore they have limited menus.
Still the atmosphere is great and it is different experience.
Highly recommended if you are open for new things.

The staff were very patient with my party since we didn’t all show up on time. They were accommodating and yet clear that they needed for us to move on so they could seat the next reservation. I thought their approach was very polite, kind and respectful. Look forward to going back.

A gorgeous and intimate experience for those lucky enough to grab one of the 12 seats. The hands on owners of the restaurant are a gracious couple whom run a precision operation; dining here is suited for patrons whom can be mindful of the 1 1/2 hour service allocation to allow for other patrons to start their reservation on time.

Belle Harlem has inventive cuisine that's consistently delicious. The best part about Belle Harlem is that it is small and intimate - only 14 seats in the restaurant and a front line view of the chef as he cooks alongside his wife, who is the hostess. If feels like every dish is cooked just for you....because it is. There is always a special or two and the menu changes, so each visit is a new experience.

This is the only OpenTable review I've ever written, but I felt compelled to do so after tonight's meal. Everything about it was wonderful. The intimate space that you share with both the other patrons and the chefs, the unbelievable food, the chill music/vibe, the UNBELIEVABLE food, the interaction with Darryl (chef) and Melissa (his wife), and THE UNBELIEVABLE FOOD. You feel like family while you're there and after you leave. Top 3 dining experience of my life, no question--you guarantee yourselves a wonderful evening as soon as you book the reservation.

Do yourself a favor and go here before Belle Harlem earns a couple Michelin stars and it takes weeks/months to get a seat.

We had a marvellous time at Belle Harlem! The waiters were very informative and lovely, and it was a real experience just watching the two chefs in action! We can’t wait to come back next time to try the dishes we didnt order!

Intimate and cool dining experience. It is amazing how much this place is able to pack in to such a small space. Our group tried a bunch of small plates and had a great time. Everything was good, but none of it particularly memorable. The wine list is very limited and cocktails are not an option.
