My husband and I went there this evening for the first time for our date night. This was one of the most outstanding dining experiences that either of us has ever had. The food was amazing, the wine selection was wonderful and the service impeccable The owners were so warm and gracious that they made you feel like you were dining at the home of old friends. Get to the restaurant as fast as you can. I am going to make our next reservation as soon as I am done writing this review.

By far one of the best culinary experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the food to the staff to the warm ambience, the owners of Belle have created a dining experience not to be missed.

Belle Harlem exceeded my expectations. Aside from the set up (small initimate place. You get to watch the chef cook!) The hostess was extremely nice and was always making sure my husband and I were enjoying our night. We even had small conversations. The chef was exceptional! The food was so delicious! I loved the place. Will definitely go again and I definitely recommend it!!

What a unique experience. You’re essentially invited into Darryl and Melissa’s kitchen. An intimate setting with only 12 seats at a communal table. We sat with a few folks who had been to Belle before and we had a lively conversation about what to order. Basically - order everything. The risotto and the chicken and waffles were our favorites but we ended with the lamb chop which was rich and flavorful. Everything was delicious. But the highlight is getting to break bread with the owners - lovely people who enjoy chatting with their guests and making them feel right at home. We cannot wait to return - my only regret is writing a review is that so many people will catch on that I won’t get one of the 12 seats!

This restaurant is TINY. 12 seats around a communal counter, with chefs working on the other side! The food is wonderful, inventive without being fussy.Absolutely delicious.Greens grown in their own roof-top garden.
The service is great, very attentive and personal, and quick.Desserts are amazing.
The only downside is that the seating is on stools with no back, not the most comfortable.

This is without a doubt my favorite Harlem Restaurant and I can say without reservation one of my favorite restaurant experiences ever. I love the up close and personal attention given by the owners. The food is absolutely five star and the wine selection is superb. The price points are high but ironically that fact adds to the Belle Harlem's specialness. This is not your everyday run of the mill establishment. It is a unique experience and therefore worth the costs.

Love love love Belle Harlem.

It’s a small space but manages to be comfortable and intimate, not cramped.

The service is wonderful and friendly since you are engaging with the owners and chefs who know the menu and wines intimately and are clearly invested in you enjoying the meal.

The food is amazing. Not a lot of choice but when you realize that the chefs are putting together this magic in a smaller kitchen with fewer kitchen appliances than you have (ie no oven) you’ll be in a awe of the talent and inspiration.

In sum, Belle Harlem feels like the dining room and menu you wish you could create in your own home but don’t quite have the talent to make it happen. Good thing they do.

Really enjoyed Belle Harlem. The food was AMAZING and they offer great service. The candied bacon alone makes the mac and cheese spring rolls worth a try and both of our entrees (lamb chops and lobster salad) were delicious. Will definitely be back.

Everything here is brilliant. From the chef to the server to the owners Darryl and Melissa who are sweet and very inviting. The place is all encompassing, combining a large dining room table with a kitchen. The size never becomes an issue as the warmth of the kitchen merges with the warmth of the ambience and soon enough, a delicious meal and paired wine is set in front of you and you get lost in the couple's vision.

This restaurant has gotten wonderful reviews. Unfortunately this was not our experience. We were greeted at the door curfly it’s a very small restaurant with very few choices. There are no salads to begin, no vegetarian dishes, and no ability to be flexible. The food was fine. The service lacked and I would not return again

This is such a unique restaurant and the food is delicious. It's a 12 seat restaurant in Harlem, situated in a 300 square foot space, but amazingly you don't feel like you're on top of each other (or the chefs!)... The food was terrific and it was great to be able to interact with the owners and support a local business. Definitely worth a visit!

The evening was a great disappointment. The menu was interesting and the restaurant concept intriguing but the actual meal itself was underwhelming and not worth the $100 per person we paid.

In brief, the lobster claw in my lobster small dish had the cartilage still in it, which cut the inside of my mouth. The steak was over cooked and a bit grainy. On top of that the owner was defensive and insulting and we felt uncomfortable for much of the evening.

Having read the reviews on this restaurant – and looked through the owners' website – we were really looking forward to our evening. To say we left disappointed is actually an understatement.

Excited about the creative concept of Belle Harlem, with interesting menu, nice wine selection, limited seating and cozy interaction with owners and chefs. Disappointed with extremely small entree portions with even skimpier accompaniments. Dessert portion was also minuscule.

The price point of this Resturant is very high considering the location. The portion is very small and the food quality does not warrant the price either. Restaurant is very small and the kitchen is in the same room. My clothes smelled of grease when we left.

Very good food. Unique seating. sort of in the kitchen which we liked. We felt very respected although people only spoke to us as needed. Culture in the kitchen (alert, relaxed, respectful) radiated to the customers. focus on food and restrained compassion very clear. sorry this sounds so bad. "restrained compassion?" (snort!) pay no attention to me. come and enjoy it. in ref to below we don't' take pics of food just not used to it.
