The food was delicious and the cocktails first rate, however the service was VERY VERY SLOW. Can’t understand why the service was not good when they weren’t very busy. Hoping they’ll improve on their service.

Really good food carefully prepared. Ordered the cheese platter. Minimum 4 people for this size! The beignets r marvelous. Salmon delicious and you don’t gave to get the mashed potatoes you can substitute for another side. Shrimp and grits perfect. The cocktails were yummy. Quibbles? Pimento used too much. In the cheese spread, in the grits, on some sandwiches. Website needs to be updated to match the cocktails. Oh, and they have dessert. Our server was terrific. The food came out spot on. Lovely gem!

This was our first time at Belle. It was their Valentines Day menu with several delicious choices for each course. They also had either a wine or liquor drink pairing for each course. I'd highly recommend it and I'm sure we'll be back again.

Everything was great.... except wine/champagne options are limited.

Very small but nicely appointed restaurant twith a small front door onto Main St., although it appears it can be accessed from the internal corrider of the hotel next door. The menu is very limited, but that appears to be by design, and what they have is well prepared. The wait for the food was fairly long, even though the restaurant was not full, about 40 minutes, but the meal when it arrived was obviously freshly prepared and was delicious. We do not mind waiting for food when it is not merely warmed up or previously made, and it allowed us to chat and enjoy the ambiance and the evening out. The price was extremely reasonable. There is no dessert menu, which ordinarily would be my only complaint, as something sweet is always a great end to a meal. It is very close to the Carpenter Theater and an excellent choice for a meal before a show. We will come again.

The food is always good

We were the only table for a long time. Service was mediocre, lacking in attention to details. Cocktails were the best thing, except when it was mentioned it wasn’t made the way it was listed they just kind of shrugged it off. Food -apps were delicious. Entrees not so much. Ordered shrimp and grits, shrimp were over cooked and super rubbery. Would not eat here again. Go for the drinks of the food.

Wonderful dinner and everyone loved their meal. I recommend the jambalaya. Walking distance to the Carpenter Theatre.

The staff was fantastic; bartender was great; the food was good; the timing was fine. The ambiance was not as up scale as it should be to match the food and service.

I think they were under-staffed that night. i waited 45 minutes to get my glass of wine. The food was excellent, though.

Food was well-seasoned with small portion sizes. Service could be all slightly improved. It took a while to get drinks. We would have ordered more, but it took too long.

Maybe they were short staffed unexpectedly that night but everything was slow, even a glass of wine took 20 mins. The hostess/server barely made eye contact but someone else came out to help her later and was better at acknowledging the insane wait. My food was fine but the other person’s was stone cold but no one was around to ask for help so she just didn’t finish it.

The atmosphere was nice, the issues started when the hostess said we could only order of the appetizer menu, and one more something to do that they weren’t serving anything else, also drinks were limited, very little food and not as described, would not god back or recommend to anyone

We enjoyed the pimento cheese beignets. I had the shrimp and grits. Loved it even though the grits were not traditional style. Was so good I didn’t care. My friend has the fish (salmon I believe) filet on sourdough bread sandwich. It was also very good. I would go back. Also really loved the fruity “southern” tea. Wish it came with refills, but definitely tasty drink.

This little restaurant was a great choice for a business lunch. It's quiet and calm enough to have conversation without squeezing too closely to other diners. Food selections and service were excellent and the location is convenient.

Bar was way too slow for an empty restaurant. A bartender in an empty restaurant should be turning drinks around fast. Restaurant lost out on additional drinks because of this and frustrated the diners (us). Food speed was OK.

Great service and food

It was the first time for the four of us. We were only one of about 4 tables so it was a quiet dining experience. We had three appetizers, cocktails and beer. We had three different entrees then dessert and coffee. The only complaint with any of the food was that the beignets were undercooked. Tasty but still doughy inside. Everything else was great.

Staff was very welcoming and accommodating. Be forewarned... there's no separation between the tables and bar area, and the bar is VERY LOUD! My wife says the burger was very good! I had the shrimp and grits; they were very good, too. A nice place to eat, but definitely not for date night...too loud at the bar.

Convenient for hotel guests staying at Hampton Inn - share same building. We dined at Belles each night during our three night stay.

Had a nice lunch visit. Conveniently located on GRTC and campus connector routes so I was able to ride in from Monroe Park campus. Service was great. I had the shrimp and grits, which tasted great. My grits were a little cold. They could expand the menu a bit more, but I would recommend this place. Service was very attentive.

Four of us had a delicious dinner at Belle. Don't miss the pimento beignets!! I could make a meal out of them alone. All of us loved them! My family's sandwiches and my salmon entree were great, but even better were all of the sides. Big, wavy, crispy fries, creamy mashed potatoes, delicious parmesan grits (and I'm not normally a grits fan), and outstanding pimento macaroni and cheese. We'll be back...soon!!

Lovely restaurant, small but a nice menu. We were there Saturday before memorial day for dinner so was not busy. Attentive wait staff and delicious food.

Although we did not love the location (it seemed to be part of the Hampton Inn Downtown) still the food was great and we will certainly go again!

Very loud group came in and made it hard to talk even across the table. Food was good and service was very good.

I went with a friend while we were there for All VA. It was a great treat! Food was wonderful, as were the cocktails. Get the pimento beignets!! They were amazing!

Fabulous cocktails, good food, and great service

First time there but would return. Small menu but was easily able to find something I liked. The outdoor area looked fun and cannot wait for warmer weather to try dining there.

We loved the food. Why haven't I had pimento cheese spread before? The restaurant was beautifully decorated, the adults loved their craft cocktails and everyone enjoyed their meals. I'd say the kitchen was a tad slow - I suppose good food takes time to make. We had the time to enjoy a slower paced meal so it didn't detract from our evening and the service was professional and not overbearing. I'd happily recommend Belle to a friend. Glad we found it during our visit to Richmond.

I love the food and the space. I've been there several times in the past few weeks. One area they need to up their game is service. Wait staff are nice but need to be more attentive to pacing and such.

My girlfriend and I enjoyed a delightful Valentine's Day dinner at Belle. Everything was amazing - We were immediately greeted and then seated; the waitress was amazingly attentive without being annoying; the food was delicious and cooked to order; and, the price of the meal was not over the top. We both ordered from the prix fixe menu and that included a complimentary bottle of champagne. This was not my first meal at Belle and it certainly will not be my last!
