We were there for Saturday brunch. All of our dishes were well crafted and delicious. Service was good but there were a few glitches that required second requests.

The host/manager was rude and dismissive. The food was the worst food I have had at a restaurant. The food was undercooked, under seasoned, and lacked creativity.

This is a very nice place but the food was a little overkill. I felt like every single dish we had was close, but too much. My favorite was the beet ravioli, a dish I had never had before but it was very good. Again, it was overdone by being doused in poppy seeds...maybe an entire tablespoon. The foie gras was ice cold and cut in huge, rich slices on top of tiny crositini. The steak was very mediocre. My boyfriend ordered a white fish covered inn prosciutto which we sent back for being raw. It was incredibly salty but he ate it and later got sick. The desserts were overbearing. I think the service and people are great, the menu just needs simplified.

Tasting three course lunch with wine pairings was full of flavor and artistically presented.

Love Bellanico and would recommend it to others. . We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing which we have had before. This is an outstanding value; the food is creative and the wines are usually delicious.

Recent visit for dinner on 2/13 missed the mark. Many of the options were high in fat and didn't include any vegetables. Smoked Trout Cannoli with sumac and horseradish was just too strong and had a bitter aftertaste. Burrata was bland and served with a tiny dab of jam. Prosciutto wrapped ono was dry and too salty even though the fish was served fairly rare.

Braised beef sugo and the cauliflower fritters were exceptional. Beet and ricotta ravioli was good but dry inside even though the butter sauce was generous.

Usually I enjoy all of the wines served on the pairing menu. This time I thought the Vermentino I Fiori to be really medicinal. I drank a little of it and told the server that I didn't like it. She didn't offer to replace it with another wine. This isn't typical of the accommodating and solicitous service that we usually receive at Bellanico.

Overall this is a great neighborhood restaurant with an innovative menu and terrific wine selection.

This small neighborhood secret offers food that rivals the most expensive restaurants in S.F. Knowledgable wait staff - constantly changing menu - and great all around dining experience.

I love this place. The food is always excellent and the service has improved a lot over the years. The red wines they offer are good, but I do wish they had a wider selection of white wine styles. I find their's very lean and very dry, primarily from Southern Europe, Sicily, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia. I know there are better wines from these regions with more fruit.

This is an old favorite of our family - we've been coming to Bellanico for about 10 years. We love the food, the ambiance and the wine. The service this time wasn't amazing - the snippy and disorganized girl at the front of the restaurant lacked the charm and professionalism that we usually find here. But that was a one-time issue - everything else was fantastic as always. The wines are yummy and interesting, and the food is just delicious. We'll be back!

The food at Bellanico is great -- really interesting. I had the malfatti and a salad and it was a great meal. However, the restaurant has its tables way too close together. When we go back, we will ask for one of the two central tables instead of sitting along the wall. Despite the traffic going by these tables, at least you won't be tooth to jowl with your neighbor!

A lovely neighborhood restaurant that rightly deserves its Michelin recommendation. Have been here a number of times. The Tasting Menu is fun and a good value, especially nice combined with the wine pairing. The service is usually excellent but the last time disappointing, long wait between some courses. Hopefully it was just an off night as we enjoy this restaurant very much.

Excellent authentic Sicilian cuisine. Wonderful housemade burrata and scrumptious pastas. Crusted meatballs were also delicious. Nice neighborhood vibe.

We went for restaurant week and the food was awesome as well as the service. We had a small appetizer followed by 2 courses and dessert all for $40. Great deal. Only down side was the tables are really close together.

We went for restaurant week. Food was great, I like the possibility to order from the regular menu as well. Italian wine list is great, we did a tasting flight.

Honestly we really wanted to like this place. Went for restaurant week and ordered the pre fixe menu with wine pairings...first course was very good, second okay, on the third the waitress completely forgot our wines and our dishes were given to us cold! Haven't had service that bad in quite awhile when the bill is over $100...not worth it.

We went for Oakland restaurant week and got the four course pre-fix menu with the wine pairings. We were late because of bay bridge traffic but they still sat us and we didn't feel rushed. The attention to detail with the pairings was great and the food presentation was excellent. The desserts were our favorite part! The waitress was also extremely attentive and fun. Unfortunately my friend's steak was served cold so she didn't enjoy her main dish.
