    Unfortunately, portions and quality of food have decreased since last visit. Live music dominates small bar space by being far too loud, unable to hear person or waiter next to you.

    I never write reviews, unless they are the good kind, but I want Bellamy's management to note this. Bellamy's used to be very good but they have slid downhill and I am rooting for them to bring themselves back to par! Last night our entrees showed up a mere 5 minutes after our appetizers so we didn't have time to even get half way through the apps. Both entrees were wrong. When we complained the server (who was really lovely) told me that I could send it back but it would take "forever" to get another dish because they were really busy. So I tried to eat it and it was the worst pasta dish I've ever had. Taste and texture just inedible. They ended up taking the dish off the check but still it was a disappointing experience for what is supposed to be a nice place. Please Bellamy's get it together again. You were good!

    This visit to Bellamy was poor. We were seated promptly but then sat there for 20 minutes without any of the wait staff seeming to notice us. Or notice that none of their fellow wait staff was taking care of our table. Lots of waitstaff bustling around, no one made eye contact. Hostess sat people after us and they all had wait staff attention immediately. We walked out. Spoke to one waitress as we left and she apologized saying the hostess had apparently not communicated table assignment to a wait person. The fact that none of the staff scanned the room as they are bustling around and noticed that a table does not have drinks or any other form of attention is unacceptable. We expect more from Bellamy. We have been there before.

    We love Bellamy’s! We come here for every birthday dinner for the family. The food is delicious and service is usually second to none! Last night was unusually crowded, but that’s great for a business! Service is usually superb, which is why we come back again and again, but last night everyone seemed stressed and our wait staff was non existent. Normally for a birthday we get dessert but none was offered this time. We will be back because we love it and hope it was just an off night.

    The ambience is very nice, however, the food has gone downhill. We used to love Bellamys. Haven’t been there in about a year and it seems it’s a different chef. My French onion soup was extremely salty and not a good flavor. The sea bass portion was minuscule and looked like mahi mahi. When I asked about it I was told it was White Sea bass farmed. It didn’t say that on the menu and it really looked and tasted like mahi mahi. My husbands rib eye was not tasty, and seemed like it was a sirloin steak vs ribeye. Disappointed with all the food except the appetizer of calamari. If we return it will only be for happy hour.

    We were lured into trying this spot for the happy hour they were advertising, but once we arrived we were told it only applied to the bar. When we asked to sit at the bar we were told it was “full”. Bar portion of the restaurant is very small. We decided to stay anyways and ended up ordering a handful of their appetizers and drinks. The food was delicious! Service was friendly, but a little slow. I think it may be due to the fact we were in the outside patio area with limited visibility. We all still had a great time, but it is a better place for dinner, not a great spot to grab a few drinks and apps. Wouldn’t recommend for their advertised “happy hour”.

    Good atmosphere! We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary this year there and previously two years ago! Our dinners were made to perfection! Our waiter, 'Orion' was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for somewhere nice to have an elegant dining experience in the Escondido area.

    Suggest your menu better describe the size of the appetizers. We ordered hummus and brussel sprouts and each was big enough for four people. Wouldn't have ordered if we knew the size. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive, however the server is obviously a smoker and he reeked of tobacco whenever he approached. We are non-smokers and the smell is very offensive. The food met expectations.

    Lovely restaurant and outstanding service. Brian was our waiter and couldn’t have been better. Nice interior decor, quiet, refreshingly tasteful and a little upscale. Nice to see most of the other diners a little dressed up as well. Not formal, I’m just thrilled they aren’t wearing flip flops with shorts and t-shirts (usually with a backwards baseball cap for the guys). 🤣 I had a Mexican Chocolate Old Fashioned, made with mezcal instead of bourbon. It was delicious! My boyfriend’s margarita was outstanding as well. We had the calamari appetizer and it was one of the best we’ve ever had. Texture was just right and the two dipping sauces (lemon aioli with banana peppers and hot cherry pepper sauce) it came with were both delicious. Caesar salad was good. I had the seabass for dinner, which was terrific, although the Parmesan risotto with it was a tad salty. My boyfriend’s filet was perfect…but the bordelaise sauce with it was too salty. He spoke to Brian and he made it right - the chef even came out and brought out a new batch of sauce that was perfect. I asked the waiter if the bartender might share the recipe for my cocktail, and the bartender himself came out and brought it to me! Also, when my boyfriend wanted a glass of wine later, Brian brought out three bottles of Cabernet and gave him a sample of each so he could decide. For dessert, we each ordered a scoop of gelato (very reasonable at $4 each, and delicious), and Brian gave us each an extra scoop as an apology for the salty bordelaise sauce. Fantastic service and attention and great food. We will be back. Thank you!

    Overall it was a good experience. The food was very good, as was the service. I wish they had a little more menu variety but what we had was well executed. The thing that turned us off, was that we ordered Martinis with olives, ( we didn't ask for extras ) which, to me, is pretty standard. The Martinis came with two olives each, and we were charged a total of $8.00 extra for olives! I couldn't believe it! Anywhere else they come with the drink. Going out to eat is expensive these days, which is why we don't do it very often anymore. Charges like this don't help the cause. Would I recommend Bellamy's to a friend? Maybe, maybe not, but I would certainly warn them about ridiculous add-ons like this.

    The food was a disappointment... The appetizer was too small, and the Cioppino was missing substance. 4 mussels, 4 clams, 2 shrimp and a small amount of broth. The bread was loaded with butter that tasted old. My wife's pork looked like fish and was not moist and was tough. I was very disappointed.

    Really nice dining experience. Food is excellent quality. Comfortable and professional level of service. Always ask about specials, they were very good. Wine list is limited, but quality is very good. Great place to go for a special occasion. Let them know in advance when you make your reservation.

    Excited to have found Bellamy's. Crispy Calamari was so delicious, the best I've ever eaten. Pork loin prepared in a way had never had before. My guest was equally pleased with his onion soup and halibut. Wait staff was extremely attentive yet not intrusive. Can't wait to go back. Bellamy's is definitely a treasure.

    I made a last-minute anniversary reservation on July 3rd and walked into a beautiful restaurant with a clearly busy staff. All of the 3 team members running FOH were incredibly kind and experienced in their craft. I loved every dish from the kitchen and can't stop thinking about the sea bass! Our dinner ran over what we had planned, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning!

    Loved the live Jazz music playing in the bar. Small menu; however, there is a variety and I tried several items and all were delicious!! The Cheese board, scallops, Shaved beets with Strawberry balsamic, chocolate cake and the affagato!! YUMMY!! Our server was so nice!! She took excellent care of us and was constantly checking on us!!     The service was exceptional. The food was not. The special--sea bass over "parmesan risotto--was not good. It was a dark meat piece of fish over Israeli couscous and peas. While some of our table had good entrees (the short ribs were a success), the appetizers were the best part of the meal. For the price, sadly not worth it.

    This is our go-to “nice night out” restaurant. The service is always amazing! Our waiter Fernando did not disappoint and he Made our anniversary so special! Thank you!
