   This was our first time to dine at Bella Vita. Initially we were very pleased with the atmosphere and menu choices. Our server was quick to respond to our table and take our drink order. The red sangria was excellent. Following the delivery of drinks, the server took our order for an appetizer and dinner entrees. We had a very short wait for our salad, which was excellent and immediately followed by our appetizer of fried calamari, topped with deep fried shreds of zucchini. It to was excellent. Then, the bottom fell out. We waited and waited for our entrees. The restaurant didn’t seem to be very busy and we kept thinking ours would be out soon. Along with that, our table was very close to the order input terminal, so our server was passing by our table several times. After approximately 35 minutes of waiting our server came over and told us she delivered our meals to the wrong table and was asking the kitchen to prepare fresh entrees for us. She left and immediately returned with our two entrees. They didn’t appear to be fresh as the pasta was clumped and the marinara sauce didn’t have that fresh shinny sheen to it. We ate part of our dinner and decided we had enough and were ready to leave. We make 2 - 3 trips to Sedona every year, but Bella Vita will not be part of our future trips. If an apology or an offer to comp part of the meal had been offered, we may have considered to give them another try in the future, but that was not the case.

   Disappointing Birthday Dinner Experience I made our reservation online and specifically noted that we were celebrating a birthday. While we did enjoy the ambiance of the restaurant, the overall experience was disappointing. The pizza was terrible—the crust tasted like it had been sitting in the freezer for far too long. On top of that, absolutely nothing was done to acknowledge my friend’s birthday. The waiter had no idea we were celebrating anything, and it was clear that the hostess who checked us in never passed the message along. This lack of communication and care was really disheartening. For a special occasion, we expected something much better. Unfortunately, we left disappointed.

   We just searched for an Italian restaurant in Sedona. We were pleasantly surprised with our find. The decor is so traditionally Italian but felt warm and inviting. Our server was so good and attentive. The menu is large but not too large. A nice variety of choices. I had the pollo parmigiana which had two nice size breasts and spaghetti with a good sauce. My friend had pasta primavera which had a variety of vegetables. We both enjoyed our meals.

   Food was not good. They claim it’s home made pasta. I’m Italian and if that’s their version of home made pasta, they should find a new pasta maker. My wife ate 1/4 of her pasta before giving up. Server didn’t even ask how it was when we said we were done and didn’t ask for a box to go.

   Elizabeth was an excellent server. She was so nice and professional and personable. We enjoyed chatting when she had time although she was very busy. Thank you Elizabeth! Janis, Sharyn, and Bruce

   Very disappointed with the quality of the food and the prices. It is listed as $30 and under on OpenTable, but even regular pasta is over $30. The Caesar salad was one of the worst I've ever tasted. Way over dressed and with bad dressing, not homemade as it allured to, which they charged $16 for. The soup tomato basil, was thick and sweet, edible, but not great, also $16. Because my boyfriend and I both ordered a pasta dish, which came with no veggies (each dish was over $30), we decided to order a side of veggies, which was the best thing we received. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

   We hadn’t been to Bella Vita in quite some time, didn’t remember much and didn’t know what to expect The environment is a little dark and Old World so I was a little skeptical at first. There were six of us, including our grandchildren (9 & 11).. But our experience tuned out to be terrific. The food was excellent and authentic. The portions were generous and our sometimes hard to please grandchildren found plenty of things to their liking. Our waitress Sadie was cheerful and attentive. All in all a very positive experience. Will repeat.
