Bella Tuscany Ratings and Reviews
My third visit and even after informing the manager prior to the visit the horrible service we had the last time the server tried but no improvement. One dinner came out wrong, it was again a long wait and appetizers came out separate, no water refills, no clearing of dishes. I wish I could give it a better review, but this was the third time. I don't think I'll be going back, too many places close by to try it again. What a shame because the food is great.
We have eaten at Bella Tuscany several times each and every time has been very enjoyable. This time was not, our waiter Mike was horrible!! He got the order wrong and was very belittling to us. We asked for extra basil and he asked why we needed it.... why would a patron be asked that? This is the first time we have received an incorrect order as well as pizza burnt on the bottom. Service was very slow and the food was not up to par. We will go back due to all of the exceptional meals we have had at Bella hopefully our next experience will be much better than today.
This was only my second time here. First was just for drinks on the patio with a friend. Our server seemed very busy and never introduced himself or gave any recommendations. I am real big on this so it kind of disappointed me a little. We had a couple of drinks to start. I had Sangria, hubby just had a beer. Sangria was very good. The food is amazing! It did take a little while but the atmosphere is nice and we didn't mind the wait. I had the crab stuffed flounder and my hubby had the snapper. Both were delicious! For dessert we split a slice of cheesecake. They have Junior's Cheesecake from NY! If you've never had it it's a must! Only had one issue and that was that there were a couple of hairs rolled up in the napkin. Looked like eyebrow or eyelashes. Server didn't really seem to care, just took it away amd replaced it. Overall it was a great night and we will be back again.
We have dined there twice. Both times the food was great. The first time we had a server that just started and she did a great job. This past time the service was terrible. I'm not blaming the waiter. He was overwhelmed and running between two separate areas of the place. Both times I did not see any bus staff to clear the tables or refill the water. I don't know if this is the standard but there are too many places to eat not to have proper staffing. All three tables next to me had the same issue to the point that one diner got up to try and find someone. We waited over 50 minutes between appetizers and our dinner, besides that two of three meals came out and I had to wait over five minutes for my meal and only after the waiter looked over and realized it. Like I said the food and ambiance is great and they had a large crowd, but something needs to be done to add staff to address the items such as refilling water, clearing plates and making sure all dinners come out at the same time.
Bella Tuscany is one of our favorite restaurants, between my wife and I and all the friends we have taken with us over time we have tried most everything on the menu and many of the chef's specials. In general the food is outstanding and the service is great. Last Friday evening we went early and the place was surprisingly crowded. I certain it was crowd related but the service was slow and the food was not up to standard. My wife had the pasta with white clam sauce, the pasta noodles were clumped together like they had been overcooked. The fish on my Sicilian Snapper dish was also over cooked which just took away from the pleasure of what is normally a truly outstanding dish. This night will not keep us away from Bella Tuscany but another time like this might have us looking for Italian somewhere else.
I wrote a note to the staff through " open table" that is was a very special evening because my boyfriends parents were meeting mine and it was on Mother's Day. They got us a perfect round table in the back and the pictures on the walls were beautiful. Keith took great care of us and coincidentally that is my boyfriends last name! It's a sign! We will be back for sure. The food was some of the best I've had in town and I've lived in orlando for 25 years. You should have music 5 nights a week! It's surely a hidden gem.
I had to have the veal Frances yet, again - it is so very good. My husband ordered a fresh fish special: tilefish. The fish was very fresh, and was a generous portion. It was an unimaginative and questionable choice to serve it with cooked vegetables and rice generously sprinkled with truffle oil. While I adore truffle oil, I would not have put it on the rice, for that dish. Nonetheless, I am sure that lots of people enjoyed it, including my husband.
Our server Ben was excellent. Very welcoming and helpful with daily specials. The ambience of the restaurant is very warm and appealing starting with the hanging sculpture at the check in desk.
We like to try a couple different appetizers and split a main course. That always gives us room for dessert.
We started with fried calamari and fried oysters. To me, calamari is calamari, but this was properly cooked and they were coated in a light batter. The oysters were the hit for me! Very nice presentation of perfectly fried oysters and an incredible arugula salad to balance the dish and a peanut sauce to finish the oysters. I could have just ordered two more of these and I would have been good!
The main course we split was the lobster and artichoke risotto. We've had it there before. It is incredible. The first time I ordered it by myself and it was so rich and plentiful I had a nice take home container. This is one of the finest dishes I've ever eaten. It's Bill Gates rich! So creamy and the lobster tail was split and very tender.
For our dinner we had the Tea Forte ice tea service offered there. It's a must do if you like ice tea or Arnold Palmers because it is top shelf. Your ice tea is brewed at your table and you control the strength. Brilliant!
We wrapped up with Tiramisu and Cappuccino. Once again, we shared dessert. It was enough for both.
I would definitely put this on your "must try" list. You will not be disappointed!
We went there for the first time since we moved here last year. The food was great and a good value for the quality. The bread was light as a feather and served with olive oils and balsamic. The saltimboca was more then enough and served over angle hair. The only slight negative was the zucchini chips were a little too oily from frying but were good otherwise. I am going back with my mom next week.
Nice find. Thanks Opentable. We are staying down on Bonnet Creek in Orlando and everything we have found so far has been very expensive. I looked around for a nice Italian nearby and the reviews had us drive the 14km to Bella Tuscany.
Very nice people, good service and very substantial portions of tasty Italian food. Be warned - you need an appetite. Not a "kid" restaurant but the head waiter very kindly went and located a couple of bits of paper for us to keep the kids occupied until dinner showed up. Dinner was great.
If you are staying in Orlando, or more specifically somewhere near Disney, this is well worth the trip to Windermere.
Several members of our party needed wine advice and the wine steward was very helpful to them. The wine list is extensive. The food portions are generous. Everybody like their meal. I cannot say that the food was artfully prepared or interesting looking. But it was very good and lots of it. The service was sporadic at best, I think our server had too many tables to wait on.
