Bella Trattoria Italiana
Wonderful neighborhood gem! Greeted with a warm welcome, impeccable service, and delicious food. We loved the relaxed atmosphere!
Not a good service we had to ask for the bread we got ignored while sitting down the calamari mixed was not good at all oily batter was falling apart
Not a good service just a waste of money
Very pricey. Very small dishes. the Ragu was very tasty, the other veg. pasta was tasteless
The food was outstanding from the spinach salad to the special pasta main course. Service staff was helpful with suggestions. They were attentive, but not intrusive.
Have to get back there for dinner based on our lunch experience in the bar area next to the restaurant. The pasta dishes we had were wonderful. The service was handled by one woman who managed to handle four tables before her help arrived, and neglected none. The chef sent out a bite of bruschetta on the House. Lovely lunch and hope to be back soon.
Casual atmosphere, excellent food and service!
The gnocchi was incredible. Such a great date spot, or an outing with friends.
Love this joint. Best gnocchi in San Francisco bar none. The Osteria is great too for something more casual.
Service was weak, the menu was okay. The food was good and the seafood was fresh.
Great food & atmosphere. The desserts were excellent as well!
Lovely staff and owner. Food very good, plentiful, and very tasty. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Wine a little pricey. Very good dining experience
This is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to eat in the city! The service is always great and the food is even better. The servers are always so nice and 2/3 of the time the chef prepares a small appetizer free of charge. Love this place!
Excellent!! Worth the Uber over to Pacific Heights for sure... Get the gnocchi!
The service was really good. They made sure to make the meal memorable and ensured we got to taste from many of their menu options. Their pasta was fresh and delicious, we had their Verdi gnocchi and linguine vongole. Both were delicious and had great flavor. Will be revisiting.
Friendly neighborhood spot with some immensely satisfying dishes (pork ragu, trout, tagliolini salmone) but others seemed ordinary (fritto misto, gnocchi). Service was awesome, and they can easily accommodate large groups.
So, better to go in a small group; so, you can stick to a couple of the better dishes. For those, the prices were very reasonable.
I loved this place. Went with 4 girl friends for a birthday celebration at lunch time- it was wonderful! Our waiter was perfect, friendly but not "too much". Recommended a fantastic wine to do with our meal. We had 5 different lunches including 1 gluten free pasta- and all were excellent. I had the meatballs (a starter) and it was big enough to be my entire meal. I tasted a few of my friends lunches and one better than the next. Only tried biscotti and afogato for dessert, but excellent too.
I have been there for dinner too- same menu- but lunch is much quieter!
We went here based on the reviews. We could not have been happier we took the quick ride from Union Square, it was well worth it. You can bring a date, a family (as we did), or a business meal. The service was perfect, attentive but not over overbearing. The food is beyond description. We've eaten out every meal while on vacation the past 5 days, and this was by far the best. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the meal. Great wine list as well. It comes across as a neighborhood place that excells in all aspects.
Happened to stumble upon this restaurant in an article about SF’s best homemade pasta. It did not disappoint. As a party of 3 we ordered the burrata appetizer, ceasar salad, the ragu, the gnocchi and a sausage pasta dish.
Everything was delicious! I would go back again and order the exact same meal. If i had to order only one item i would get the ragu everytime. Will be back to this restaurant next time i visit san fransisco.
First time here. The ambiance is sweet and romantic. Food was great. The waitstaff was so attentive refilling wine and water without asking. Will be coming back.
Whewwwwww whewwwww. Food and wines
Service was absolutely wonderful! The fried risotto balls were late coming to our table, so they gave them to us but would not charge us (and they were the highlight of a delicious meal!!). We shared a Tricolore Salad, the pork ragu with pasta, and the eggplant parmigiana; all were fantastic and we were glad we shared so that we could each taste the different dishes. We will definitely be back!
ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. Chose this place on a whim based on reviews & central location (between dining parties). Not only was everything wonderful — from food quality & value, to service, to ambiance & noise level — but when this “reunion dinner” lasted longer than expected, the manager very graciously offered us seats at the bar (and a small token of appreciation for our freeing up the table). We will all be back, and likely to introduce Bella Trattoria to other friends! Thank you for everything!
I made a reservation for a this restaurant and when we arrived there they sat us at the neighbor restaurant which looks more like a bar. I found this pretty deceptive.
Get the Ragu...and the panna cotta or tiramisu. Can't go wrong. The apps are delicious, too. Great restaurant.
Good food and great ambience. A great neighborhood place to eat.
This is a great neighborhood restaurant. All the food is delicious and the dress and atmosphere is casual.
Food was great and the service excellent. Everything came out hot and in a timely manner
This is a wonderful little place. We had terrific service and the food is delicioso!! Must go!
Some of the very best pasta in any neighborhood restaurant in the city. Pleasant, friendly, and knowledgeable service and a good wine list. Always a pleasant dining experience. Sometimes a bit too loud for our taste.
Meals are always well prepared and tasty, and service is always friendly and welcoming. Dependable all the way around!
They were understaffed in the kitchen, so the service was a little off, especially in the beginning, but they redeemed themselves with an unbelievably delicious meal and great wine recommendation! The gnocchi was the best I've had, pillow soft, well seasoned and gluten free! What?! yup! GF Italian that was actually delicious! I'll go back.
I had the Osso Bucco special....the very best I have ever had. Yes, I ate the whole meal.
We read the reviews online and went to the place, the name of the place was a bit different while the address was the same. We ordered meatballs and carbonara. The meat balls were a bit under and lacked flavour the carbonara also not flavourful.maybe we went when the main chefs were not there but a disappointing outing. The service and bread were great
This restaurant is a true "find". Four of us had a most enjoyable lunch last week. I can speak for all of us.... just amazing dishes. We all had a different pasta but first shared a large caesar salad and delicious bread which is served with sundried tomatoes in oil. So delightful! My spinach gnocchi mushroom dish was the absolute best I have ever eaten! Our server was David who took very good care of us. Water, bread, order taken, delivered, watchful but unobtrusive. Just a delightful experience with outstanding food. We highly recommend!
I come to Bella’s every time I’m in San Francisco. The food is always excellent, good service and reasonably priced. It has the feel of a neighborhood restaurant.
We had a party of four and all of us had pasta. It was great, as were the craft beers.
We visited Bella recently with my family visiting from overseas. Manuela made their dinner so welcoming. We really enjoyed the food, ambience, and (above all) the service. Two thumbs up to Manuela and Antonio.
The service was friendly and the food was good. We were surprised to learn that there is now an Osteria Bella next door where we were asked to wait. I initially thought it was an extension of Bella Trattoria but learned that it was two totally separate establishments with overlapping menus. The gnocchi is terrific as always.
