My wife and I went here for a date night on a Friday night. Had a 7:30 reservation and arrived shortly after, had to wait about 5-10 minutes for our table to be ready but though that was reasonable considering we were a few minutes late. We were sat next to the window which was great as we had amazing views throughout dinner and were treated to a beautiful sunset. Service was great, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Food was delicious! We have been here a few times and have never left disappointed. Great little spot in a beautiful little town!
It was great! Genesis, our server, made us feel special the entire evening! Will be back again soon.
I knew when we walked in that we were going to love the restaurant. It has a cool vibe and interior, with a great view of the water at the back of the restaurant. We had the Teriyaki Skirt Steak and the Filet Mignon, shared a Caesar salad and desserts (bread pudding and a sundae). Fantastic meals all the way around. The bread and the the tapenade were amazing and I could have made a meal out of that and the delicious "Siena Spa Water" cocktail I had - perfect for a hot day! The Teriyaki Skirt Steak was super tender and flavorful, served with mashed potatoes and some veggies. The filet was delicious as well. We'll definitely go back and would recommend to anyone!
My husband heard about this place from a friend. (I was skeptical!) We normally dine out in Berkeley, Oakland or San Francisco. Prefer really good food (fresh, organic, local in a casual setting) over ambiance or service. I was pleasantly surprised at how good everything tasted. Service was excellent, and we really enjoyed talking to our server, Kristen. She was fun, professional and attentive. Menu was similar to a really good Original Joe’s type menu. Caesar salad dressing was very good (no artificial flavors and tasted house-made with top ingredients). My complaint is that if they can’t offer wild salmon, they could offer Scottish farmed salmon instead of the Atlantic (a bad choice for farmed salmon). Love that they bread their own fried calamari and have a great aioli- type dipping sauce. Really appreciated that they honored our (reserved ) table request for a “good” window table (we were celebrating a friend’s milestone birthday). We didn’t at all mind waiting longer for it.
The sunset views were lovely...
Everything was perfect, except we sat at the bar for a few drinks before dinner and our bartender couldn't mix a margarita. Very sour.
Amazing ambiance! The service was expedient and very client centered. The food was outstanding and the whole experience left me wanting more! Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Bella is consistently good. Really like the outdoor patio. The Benicia weather was perfect for outside dining. Bella is my go to for all occasions. So thankful they came to Benicia.
Made reservations for a birthday dinner, asked for outside, next to the window with a view of the water. No table was available anywhere near the water. My friend hit her head on an umbrella hanging too low on the way to the table. Took forever to get our drinks, then when our appetizer was served, some of the food flung off the plate. Our server seemed either too busy or just highly distracted. Everyone was very nice, but not the level of service that we expected from Bella Siena!
Wow, what a great experience at Bella Siena! If you have not gone, you must go! I definitely recommend this restaurant as it is delicious and reasonably priced for the quality of food and service. I especially appreciated the service and want to give a shout out to the hostess. I wish I caught her name but I did not. The first thing she said to my spouse and I was Happy Anniversary! and asked us how many years we were celebrating. This was very refreshing as I have made countless reservations for special occasions (birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, big events, etc.) and also note the occasion on the reservation, yet this was the first time it was actually acknowledged! They also reserved the best possible seat for 2 with a great view so I was blown away by their attention to detail and truly making our experience the best it could be. I hope management can see this review and give lots of praise to your hostesses as they go above and beyond to provide excellent service. The food was excellent and a great value too. I had the filet mignon which was heavenly and melted in my mouth and my significant other had the pasta which was also delicious. Our server was attentive and very quick. Overall, I have no negative feedback and only positive and will always remember this experience. Looking forward to next time and my mouth is already salivating thinking of that filet mignon! 😋
Two Very Satisfied Customers
Beautiful place, we sat outside and the food was delicious. From the Carpaccio to the Mushroom Risotto with shrimp.. But the star of the show was the cabbage salad with a warm bacon dressing-a definite must!!!
Brie was our waitress and she was phenomenal.
We have always had excellent, fresh food at Bella Siena. The views of the water are great. One of our favorite places to eat with friends.
Great service and great food
Every time we dine at Bella Siena we have great service and delicious food with a wonderful view of the Carquinez Bridge and the shoreline. The best restaurant in town all around.
Our service was impeccable and our waitress was awesome! She knew her menu and her specials, didn't rush us and was helpful and polite! The food was outstanding! We will be back! -Rachelle Travalini
Great food & wonderful service!
We have eaten at Bella Siena on five occasions now. Every time has been wonderful food and service. We had Ike as our waiter again and enjoyed his attentive service. This restaurant is becoming our go to restaurant in western Solano County. The lamb tenderloin was phenomenal in taste, tenderness, seasoning and amble amount.
Bravo Bella Siena
We had such a good time. The food was amazing! Appetizers, main course, dessert and cocktails. Will not disappoint. Definitely a must try and return place for sure! We will becoming back with the entire family next time.
Great location on the water. Bar service was just OK, but wait staff, food and ambiance were remarkable.
The food was delicious. Corkage fee was $15 so that was good too. Once the restaurant filled up (around 7:15), it got very loud but that won’t stop us from coming again.
Food is overpriced and small portions.. wine list a small wine is way overpriced … The service was good servers are nice and friendly the bathroom didn’t have any toilet paper they don’t check the bathrooms I’ve been to this restaurant just go there because it’s convenient I live in the area
This was my 6th visit to your place. Each time to bring someone new to celebrate their birthday and to experience your excellent restaurant.
The girl that helped us was super super nice! Great service. The food was OKAY! I been there before and the food was good but this last time food was too salty but over all cool place.
Always great service - food - and water view!!! Sure beats Sailor Jacks next door. Choose this place for any occasion. Enjoyed 4th of July so much here we came back again tonight.
Yes with the caveat that it’s VERY noisy. The service was okay. Not sure we will go back as we were leaving there was a couple on the patio eating lunch with their dog in a chair at the table. The dog was not wearing the “service” vest. We don’t believe that a restaurant is the place for the family pet.
Very nice patio with wind break right on the Benicia waterfront. Great place to watch the fireworks.
My mushroom ravioli was excellent. I also highly recommend the crab cakes, Caesar salad and berry crisp
Even though it was extremely busy service was good, though I had to ask for water refills
Parking is easy in the area and Free. Benecia is a lovely town and I recommend a still up First Street
A very nice dining experience. We had a table overlooking the bay, and saw a beautiful sunset! The food was very good, especially the pastas. Our waiter was very prompt and cordial. We will return!
We were very impressed with our first visit for lunch. We’ll definitely return for the great food, nice service, and beautiful view. Great for a date, family event, and friends.
Beautiful place on water. Outside seating as well. Food was great.
Great place! The food has consistently been excellent! This is the first time we had cocktails instead of wine - fantastic!!! Try the Bella-tini , did I mention excellent service as well.
Our waiter was prompt and engaging. When we needed water they were there without being asked. Plus great views, especially at sunset
We were truly pleased with our lunch.
It was wonderful!!
I have to say... the best Italian food I have had in a long while.
The service was perfect and the view amazing.
Can’t wait to go back!!
We always love this restaurant!!!! The best in Benicia.
We sat on the patio and watched the sun set as we are. The salad was rather mediocre but all the main dishes we excellent.
Regular dining customer- great place!!
Another great night at Bella. Food is outstanding. Drinks are great. Service is great. Hostesses are wonderful and know there customers after a few visits.
The food is fantastic. But this place is too popular and thus very busy. Reservations are effectively required but also, almost meaningless. Be prepared to wait! But their great bar makes that bearable while
waiting for the great food.
We’ve loved this place from the get go. But sadly, so have thousands of others. Hence the lack of five stars. Just too crowded, too busy and too difficult to get into to make worth more than the occasional splurge.
Tonight, I had the swordfish special over polenta with chard. It was exquisite and the Napa cabbage salad I had was damn good as well. The crab cakes appetizer were all they should be. And the bread pudding desert wad the best I’ve had. This ain’t no Ilive Garden.
But the wait, the crowds and the noise level are not a match to the fine fare.
My suggestion: Go by reservation only, institute a dress code and let people dine in an atmosphere equal to the cuisine. The view alone adds 20% to the value. You’ll still max out your available space and make good margins. But you’ll be in it for the long run and resistant to the next economic downturn. i.e. make your customers come up to the levels of your offerings. And forget about the riff raff that falls out. Your servers will make better overall tips anyway more in line with the white linen table cloth service they provide.
And to those that would like to try this place and enjoy the fine ambiance in the meantime, just make a reservation for after 20:00 or go at lunch and try out all the great food while enjoying s fine repast.
The service was spot-on this time! It hasn't always been the best so we really appreciated the attention of our server. The food has always been outstanding; nobody in our party was disappointed with their meal! So happy that Benicia finally has a restaurant of this caliber!
We live in Vallejo and this was our third visit to Bella Siena.
Your food was and is terrific!
We were a table of two and were seated next to three men.....they were loud and their
language was very poor. They belonged in a place which would welcome offensive people
on a Friday evening letting off steam.
PEACE, Ken and Vic
We been here several times this last time we were rushed through our dinner we were with four people we had three orders before we even finished our orders or dinner came and we were rushed out and didn’t like that
Great food and venue and service. Wish it was not so expensive to go out to eat!
