About Bella Monica
Bella Monica Cucina & Vino is a family-run trattoria with recipes handed down from our grandparents. Our menu features Neapolitan dishes like gourmet thin-crust pizzas called, Flatbreads, Pasta, Seafood, Chicken, Local Pork & Beef dishes. Our tomato sauce is made just like Nana's. It's so good that we sometimes eat it like soup! Without a doubt, we serve the best cannoli you will ever taste! Our wine list features all Italian, hard-to-find selections that are a perfect match for our Pasta & Flatbreads.
We showcase local art on the walls and play a great upbeat music mix. You can dine al fresco on our patio.

Sundays at our Nana’s house were special days. It began when we entered Nana’s house and the smell of the ‘gravy’ simmering on the stove would greet us at the door. Nana would fly out of the kitchen to pinch our cheeks, give us hugs, and lead us to the table full of food saying “mangia, mangia”. Sundays with Nana were days where everything seemed to stop for family and friends; everything except for pasta. Aunts, uncles and cousins would trickle into Nana’s house throughout the day to take their places at the table. The day never seemed to end as we would sit for hours sharing the food.

Bella Monica Ratings and Reviews
What a pleasant and delicious surprise! My daughter who lives in Raleigh highly recommended Bella Monica as the place to go for Italian food. I booked a dinner reservation for my husband's birthday. Our family had a wonderful time celebrating his special day together while enjoying the amazing appetizers, entrees and desserts.
Brittani completed the experience with her excellent service!
We’ve been here
Multiple times and everything was great in the
Past. I order the chick parm every time I come and the
Presentation was different this time. The chicken did not appear breaded and the entree had way too much sauce. My wife got the eggplant parm and was not satisfied either. I feel like the food quality has gone down since last time I came. Not sure we’re going to return
One of the rare restaurants that offers gluten-free bread with the meal, and takes gluten-free very seriously, with a whole separate menu and lots of options. High quality food and service, always delicious. You can't go wrong here for high quality Italian food and a wonderful gluten-free dining experience.
Food was great as always, but service was very off. Waited 20 mins after our reservation time for our table. No apology. No word from the hostess, and when we went to check if they had forgotten about us we were treated as an inconvenience. Several groups of people who arrived after us were taken first.
My wife and I had not been back to Bella Monica for a little while and are sorry we didn't go back earlier. If you want to go around dinner time and not eat outside, you must make a reservation. We have been trying to eat more plant-based and Bella Monica has no real vegan options and every vegetarian dish seems loaded with cheese. Nonetheless, I had the veggie lasagna and it was awesome. My wife had shrimp scampi and pasta and enjoyed it immensely. We also found a nice bottle of organic red wine (lower sulfites) and really liked it. I had the cannolies as they are probably the best in Raleigh.
From the service, to the wine, to the incredible food, Bella Monica never fails to remind me why they are the best Italian restaurant in town. Ben the host and the waitstaff is on top of everything and the quality of the food can’t be matched anywhere in Raleigh.
Bella Monica was fabulous! We had a conference scheduled for a Friday morning in Raleigh, so I booked lunch there for those at our firm attending the conference. The conference was canceled, but I made the executive decision that we should still go to Raleigh just to have lunch at Bella Monica. The eggplant rollatini special is AMAZING!!! The three of us each had a wonderful, beautifully prepared meal. It was wonderful!! AND it was worth the trip!! Thank you for another amazing meal!!
Bella is without-a-doubt our favorite Raleigh restaurant. The food is always amazing and the service is always just right. This visit was for a birthday celebration and the staff did a wonderful job with decorations and well wishes. On this trip the group had the chicken parm, the vegetable lasagna, a chopped salad, and a gluten-free sausage and gravy. All the dishes were delicious. We all shared a tiramisu and a cannoli and they were both superb. Also, don't be afraid of the house red. It is delicious and pairs up perfectly with their red sauce. We are looking forward to our next visit.
