We had planned a girls’ night out and wanted to go somewhere on the east side of Lexington - preferably in the Richmond Road corridor. Bella Forno seemed to be a good choice. Unfortunately, none of us checked their website and thus we did not realize was that it was trivia night. The restaurant was packed - good for them. They seem to have a loyal following. But, if you were hoping for a pleasant meal, be advised. Do not go on Wednesday any time around 7:00 p.m. Our service was very slow. However, we all enjoyed our meals. We will go back - just not on a Wednesday.
Service was not at tentative, food excellent. Not sure why service was beliw
One of my favorites! They have delicious food and gluten-free options for their dishes that are equally as delicious. The service is always great. My family loves going there. We go there at least twice a month and are always pleased.
This place is lovely!
The staff was incredibly pleasant.
The fig bruschetta appetizer, house bread, pear salad, pizza and butterscotch pudding dessert were all amazing.
Quaint atmosphere with tasteful lighting.
We will definitely return.
Poached pear/arugula salad was outstanding!
Everything was very, very delicious.
Decor and ambiance was great.
We had a very sweet personable server, but the availability seemed as if perhaps a few servers were missing.
However, that is definitely to be overlooked by her wonderful attitude and the quality of the food.
Just okay pizza that costs more than it should. We had two different pizzas that were both lackluster--little sauce, not much seasoning, bland cheese. They weren't bad, but not worth going back for. Meatball appetizer was pretty good.
A great place for wood-fired Italian-style food! Good location and they take reservations too! We had excellent service from a friendly and appreciative staff.
We usually get the pizza here, which is very good. However, we thought we'd try the pastas instead this time. Turns out we should have stuck with the pizzas, as the pasta dishes were not nearly as good. I certainly will go back for the pizzas, but won't order their pastas again.
Our first time experience at Bella Forno was a good one and we look forward to returning. We both had the salad with grilled salmon and it was excellent. Next time I might ask for dressing on the side, since those preferences are so individual. My husband enjoyed his beer and I asked for a nonalcoholic beer, but they don't carry them. That would be the one thing I suggest they do. Many of my friends choose not to drink alcoholic beverages at any given time, but they enjoy an alternative to iced tea or soft drinks. The waiter was friendly & attentive. The pre-dinner loaf of bread with herb infused olive oil for dipping was the best, ever! Overall, we enjoyed our first visit very much.
I've been with a friend for lunch and the food was great! Jasmine was our server and she is a gem! The garlic knots were delicious. My husband and I came for dinner the following week and again the food and service was excellent. We also received a bonus...free panacotta for dessert. It was also very good. I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and family and plan on returning.
We really enjoyed the restaurant. We loved our chopped Caesar salads and all 4 pasta dishes were excellent. We want to go back and try the pizzas as they looked delicious. Nice little place with reasonable prices.
Great food, a must have is the Fig and Pig appetizer. It's almost a meal by itself.
Great food and amazing service give by Jacob. He provided professional service, friendly and very engaging. You won't be disappointed with the food and service from Bella Forno!
Our waiter was very well informed and Very interested in our experience!
Another great experience here. Salads, pizza and service were all excellent. The budino is ridiculously good..
music too loud and wrong type for this restaurant and its menu
food is so good, employees are so nice, comfy place to be
Bella Forno was an excellent choice. We had great service from Jacob and the food was outstanding. The gluten free pizza crust was delicious. And the salmon was cooked perfectly. We will be back again!
Service and all food ordered was excellent. Will definitely be returning.
Service was fantastic! Server was knowledgeable on wine and taught me some tricks and tips! Food was amazing as usual. One of my favorite places in town! Highly recommend!
Great appetizers and the Gorgonzola pasta was fantastic!
From the apps, to the salads to the Pizza's everything was fantastic! Next time I am in the area I will dine there again.
Good pizza and tasty meatloaf
Had a fun time with family/ grandchildren, a Wed., evening , trivea night . A fun evening with great food 🤗!
The food was great, I was disappointed that the menu didn't match what was on,the open table site. Because I think they took away a good small plate. But what we did have was great. I especially recommend the chocolate torte.
We were unsure of where to eat that evening and saw the review on another site and thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed. We were seated immediately and greeted by our waiter soon thereafter. We ordered the meatball app which was pretty good and if there was a weak point in the meal this may have been it. My first bite tasted pretty "Heat and serve" as far as the meatball goes. taking my next stab with some fresh basil definitely helped things and I readily gobbled up the rest of it. We ordered the magherita pizza and it was delicious. The sauce was no doubt fresh and the crust was perfect! We were also treated as first-time guests to a complimentary dessert of panna cotta which was amazing. The service was prompt and polite and there prices were very reasonable. There were two specials that we didn't bite on that evening but had it not been pretty hot outside I have have tried the pan seared scallops and on a bed of linguine with white wine butter sauce. Sounded great, just a lot at that time.
This was our first time dining here. The pizza was delicious! The service was excellent and the restaurant was really clean.
We unknowingly went on trivia night, so, it was a lot more crowded and noisier than we are used to. But, food is always outstanding! Still one of our favorite places in Lexington!
This was our first time at Bella Forno. We had tried to get there once before but couldn’t find it. It used to be under the name “Crusts” and that is still the name on the building. Confusing to the new customer.
That said, we thoroughly enjoyed both the food and service. My companion had a Mergherita (Sp.?) pizza which was not surprisingly like the same from the Smashing Tomato, owned by the same people. It was excellent.
I ventured out from my comfort zone and ordered the Italian Meatloaf. Best choice by far. The texture was smooth, the flavor remarkably like Mama Dispirito’s meatballs from the recipe at Rocco’s in NYC as featured on HBO. The sauce drizzled over the meat and mashed potatoes was sweet and a perfect accompaniment to the dish.
The final touch was the free dessert they present to all first time patrons. Just yummy!
Came in for a date with my wife. Our server was excellent. Very professional and knowledgeable, and although the service was attentive we not rushed at all. My wife had scallops and rates it excellent. I had a pizza with sausage, arrabbiata sauce and balsamic reduction. Crust outstanding. The pairing of the arrabbiata with the balsamic was a bit too much. Salty spiciness dense tomato from sauce with the sweet balsamic and I lost the crust a bit. Better to pair with a basic tomato and lose the balsamic IMO. But a very good pizza, certainly worthy. The bruschetta with Tuscan beans was excellent.
Wish they served liquor! Awesome food. Service needs work but wasnt
This is just another outstanding review of an outstanding restaurant. We have been
many times and have never had less than outstanding.
We are huge fans of Bella Forno! Outstanding food, something new to try every time and consistently delicious! One of our local favorites!
Food was excellent, very attentive service, and quiet enough to talk
Food was excellent - the quality is much better now, and the selection better - this was an excellent change. Same quality as their other restaurants now, and a welcome addition!! We will be back!
I preferred the old menu. The new menu is predominantly pizza and pasta and appears less creative than the earlier menu and specials.
Our Mothers Day dining experience was great! My pizza was cooked to perfection, but I’ll skip the chicken wings next time: far too fatty. I’m adding CRUST to my regular eating-out list.
Chicken and waffles were AMAZING!! They were unique and delicious!!
Our service was outstanding. It was obvious the staff was short-handed, which made things difficult for them especially on Mother's Day, yet we were served with great respect and careful attention.
Food and service are always excellent! Great spot for date night or family dinners! Highly recommend!
