All 4 people in our party raved about the quality of the food. From the calamari and stuffed mushrooms to all main meals, all was delicious!
Excellent Meal !
Our server, Mark, was spectacular. We had gone to Bella Costa for a special occasion and he made everyone (11 of us) feel at home and welcomed. He even remembered us from another time we were there for a different celebration. The food was fabulous and the portions generous. I hated to leave when it was time. That's how special we felt!
Always a delicious meal with fresh homemade pastas. Thank you Bella's for the consistency and the always friendly and delightful service.
The experience started off confusing with a jam-packed parking lot used for the KFC next door and a dive lottery place. But then I saw there was free Valet parking... The valet was very friendly and accommodating, which picked up my mood and concern.
At the door, we were greeted warmly, but seated near the bar, despite having a reservation (no "reserved" sign on the table as we noticed on other tables. This turned out to be one of the low-points of the night - see below.
The bar is reasonably well stocked (would have liked a few more high-end options, but they were also very friendly.
I would up sitting with my back to the bar. The person behind me sitting at the bar, despite his short stature, had his legs straight out pressed against the bar, pushing his chair back so everyone (mostly servers) who walked between us wound up hitting me in the back or head. Even the owner didn't say anything to him, despite speaking with him for quite a while - no doubt a regular.
From observing the traffic flow, I think one less table wouldn't impact their business and create more space between sitting customers so they could have perhaps a little more privacy and peace.
There was also a piano and drums - too loud, and lots of off notes. As a musician, I found it more intrusive than enjoyable.
The appetizer (Calamari with spicy peppers) was overcooked. I grant that it's hard to cook Calamari correctly, but either the oil hasn't been changed in a while, was way too hot, or it was just left in far too long. The peppers were tase, but the Calamari tasted like fried rubber bands.
The homemade pasta was al dente and excellent, but ruined by the acidic red sauce. The veal was pounded into submission, overcooked, and dry. The eggplant was better than average.
Pricing was OK, but I expected better food for the ambiance and price.
I overtipped, and while not looking for special recognition, would have appreciated at least a "thank-you". Thankfully, I got that from the Valet.
My wife and I went for dinner. We both enjoyed our food. We had appetizers, wine and dessert with our meal and felt the price was very reasonable.
Delicious food and great service. Very clean. I highly recommend it.
Great calamari. Broiled seafood moist ,tasty and plentiful
They have live piano music every night except Monday and Tuesday. Charming place.
Mixed review... Very crowded but w/a reservation only had to wait a few minutes for them to set up our table for 4. Layout was horrible, there was no place to stand out of the way of the servers /bussers that had to walk the length of the restaurant to the kitchen! Service was meh, food was excellent and price reasonable for portion size. Drinks a bit pricey. Enjoyed my leftovers the next day too!
We have been dining at Bella Costa for many years. We have never been disappointed. The food is high quality, inspired and delicious.
For our personal tastes we prefer a booth in the area of the bar. It makes a big difference as there is not a feeling of being in a crowded area.
Wonderful food great romantic setting
Bella Costa is very much a true, true Italian restaurant! The menu was innovative, very well prepared, and the service was actually able to intelligently advise us on the nuances of the pasta and the different plates we were considering.
Very much recommend it as an authentic neighborhood, Italian restaurant.
Food always fresh, well prepared and service excellent.
This is becoming one of our favorite restaurants. I make reservations and they always accommodating. Very crowded, but room for everyone. Waitress was great.
Bella Costa is a staple for our family. The staff is very friendly.
The food arrived lukewarm, flavor were weak and for the prices, very disappointing value. Many better choices nearby.
Another great evening. Seated immediately. Served bread and oil to start. Ordered from small plate menu, but plates quite large. Broiled seafood platter wonderful , chicken parm great as was the homemade pasta. Service was great
Food was delicious but service was slow and below average. Some things ordered never came to the table (my daughters salad was ordered but never came) ... some things came incomplete and needed to be asked for (forgot lobster on lobster risotto??) timing of first course was way off.... (my salad was served and completely eaten before soup and appetizer got to the table even though requested as one course) probably won't be back. Overall disappointed which is too bad since the food was great!
We went here for Sunday brunch. I had 6 people in my reservation. The host was very nice. The waiter seemed overwhelmed and not very organized. The food was decent. My biggest personal issues were:
1. They did not have any black tea (English Breakfast or Earl Grey). I am a tea drinker not a coffee drinker. Also their iced tea was horrible.
2. They were playing pandora with commercials. It would be great to pay for the service without commercials.
Loved my seafood dish. Even though it was a small plate I still took half home to enjoy the next day.
Mark was a great waiter and meal was great. We will be back.
The restaurant has a warm atmosphere, a noise level that allows quiet conversation and yummy traditional Italian favorites. Unfortunately the service was very slow and the server was not very attentive. We will go back for the food and hopefully better service.
Our waiter, Mark, was so kind and paid special attention to my mother and father in law who we were celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary. Food was fantastic and affordable.
Sat next to the kitchen which ended up being really noisy and busy. Food didn't seem like real Italian, homemade at all. Caesar salad had way too much dressing. Our server was good otherwise.
Consistently delicious, homemade pasta!! Bella Costa is our go to Italian restaurant for homemade recipes served by a friendly staff while we listen to live piano music. What can be better!!??
Thank you for a wonderful experience at Bella Costa as always! We also loved the music tonight!
Great! We always enjoy eating at Bella Costa!
Consistently good!! Very accommodating!!
Menu and food ate wonderful!
seated promptly even though we were early for our reservation...after very brief delay service was attentive and timely...waiter was well informed of selections...food quality was outstanding.
The food here is delicious, especially the desserts. Molly, our server, hit the perfect balance between unobtrusive and helpful. Tables are a bit close to one another, but on the whole this is a great Italian restaurant!
Excellent local Italian eatery. Very pleasant waitstaff who was engaging, humorous, and helpful, but not overbearing. Nice selection of salads, small plates, and entrees. Dessert tray boggles the mind.
i had a very expensive and disappointing experience here. this place has been around forever but you would never know that from the night I was there. the quality of the food was sub-par. we started off with fried calamari and while the rings were ok the tentacles were overdone. it was served with what I'm assuming was marinara sauce but was actually thin red water. the sauce had no flavor and tasted like it came from a can. dinner did not turn out any better. i had seafood fradiablo and it had no heat, tasted fishy, and was full of oil. lets just say that instead of red sauce, it was more like red oil that everything was sitting in., and when i say it was fishy.. i mean fishy in not a good way. the chicken part was bland and generic. desert was also lack luster and disappointing.
the only saving grace was the positive attitude of our server. i doubt id give it another try. at least the birthday boy ( who turned 75) enjoyed his fried seafood platter. looks like they are aiming to please the senior crowd (as the place was mostly people either close to or in retirement.
The food is always exceptional. The staff are very accommodating to special needs.
always good. waitress was wonderful. GO and have a great time.
Service was excellent. Food was very good. The owner came out to speak with the guests and was very sweet and personable. Would highly recommend!
I go to Bella Costa often. Usually with a group of friends. We have a great time and the food is delicious. This time, I went with my husband. As usual, the food was wonderful. We actually got the small plates for our meal and that was plenty for both of us. I enjoy the atmosphere and the piano player was great.
Nice little Italian restqurant. Good value. Had a table of 13 and our waitress was delightful - easy going, on top of everything, and didn't rush us out when we finished. We'll be back.
Wonderful food, attentive waitstaff
The live music brings the dining experience up a notch
Great fun, highly recommend
