View Private Dining DetailsWe’ve always enjoyed this place. It gets really hopping for weekend brunches but the servers maintain a calm, pleasant, and efficient mien. Dogs are allowed, which is nice. Reservations are a must, unless you want to hang out on the sidewalk for an hour waiting for a table. My only feedback to the kitchen would be that I don’t think my food has ever come out hot (I am one of those people who likes my food piping hot but most people might not even notice).
We had a dinner reservation and were a little pressed for time because of an engagement following dinner. The staff was very attentive and expedited our orders. Food was delicious! Place was noisy but we still liked the ambience. Looking forward to a return visit.
We like the wine list, beers and beverages a lot. The service is really super, but the menu is losing its luster a bit for us. We miss the sausages a lot.
The acoustics were terrible. Restaurant needs to do something about it. Had to shout across 2 persons table to get heard. Somewhat disappointed. Food very average at $$ prices. Won't mind paying these prices if food was a notch better.
Belga is one of my go-to’s when I’m in the Marina. Great for lunch (if you can grab a seat outside, even better) or meeting up for drinks after work. Has some unique options (I recommend the falafel) and service has always been excellent.
Thank you to the wonderful Belga team for making my best friends’ birthdays and an engagement celebration so special! The staff and amazing, the food was great and the wine was well worth it. This is my second time for a special occasion and I’ll definitely be back again.
The most outstanding aspect of our experience was the European vibe of the restaurant - floor to ceiling windows that open to the street, fireplace, wood floors and wallpaper. The food was fine, our table found the burgers salty but otherwise thought the food was good. Very well priced.
Belga is awesome, especially if its a gorgeous day and you can request the outdoor picnic tables (or snag one!). Fun for groups and great brunch & brunch drinks. Also dog friendly! <3
The service was poor, my latte arrived after I had finished eating my brunch. The food was good. Very loud, it was hard to have a conversation. Wouldn’t rush back.
Loved that they had Fieldwork sour beer on tap! Burger was burnt. Fries were just okay. Quite loud at 8:30-9:30pm with lots of people the bar area on a Saturday night. Quieted down after that as people left. I would go back for drinks but not food.
The food was tasty (excellent fries with multiple dipping sauces) the service was very good and the surroundings pleasant. I would go back again if it was convenient, but other than the fries there was nothing notable.
Belga's decor is very warm and inviting. The food was solid and decently priced. The whitbier mussels were group's favorite, and the hamburger was solid too. We finished off with beignets and waffles. The creme fraiche sauce with the beignets was the highlight. Will definitely be back.
We love coming to Belga. We are in town 2 weeks a month and Esther there at least once a week. Everyone is terrific! Especially Marianna and now Jessica.
Ames was our server and s he was great. We shared the mussels and a glass of wine. It was a fun restaurant for dinner.
Was not great - no personal attention and food was not very good - french fries were left over small pieces and salmon was not cooked well - no flavors
I absolutely love Belga. The service was kind and with a smile. The food was great (as always). My friend had her baby girl, and they were extremely accommodating.
Valentines Day special date high quality experience. Wonderful food and service. Nice music, but easy to converse. A nice romantic place to go. Have the flatbread!
The food at Belga is good. They do need to plan ahead a bit. They had given out of bread by six o'clock on Sunday night! It is such a great interior and the mussels delicious!
Great place to reunite with family. Food, service and menu were excellent.
Wonderful service in a beautiful setting with deliciously healthy food - made for a relaxing, Sunday brunch with friends!
We ordered the beer week beer pairing. Good idea but the beer was brought out at odd times - either way too early or late, not paired with the food. They were busy but then don’t offer food/beverage pairings. We also had liquid in our plates from eating and when we asked for new plates the one guy said it wasn’t his job and begrudgingly started to clear our entire table.
The ambiance is fun and good and it's a great place for a drink and appetizer but the food isn't good. Def don't go for dinner!
I was here for the SF Restaurant Week lunch special and it was a great way to introduce me to Belga. What a beautiful, comfortable and elegant space. My celery soup was complex. I do it an injustice to call it just "celery soup". The menu described it better. The chicken paillard was perfectly cooked on a grill and had a smokey and savory taste over perfectly tender kale and potatoes. I splurged to get the beignets -- best I've ever had with a wonderfully thick and tart cream on the side. I'd return any time.
Although the food was good, it took it more than 30 minutes for the appetizers to appear at the table in less than half empty restaurant. The waiter was more involved in the wrapping utensils in napkins than serving the table. Other waiters were no better, gathering in small groups in different spots and chatting. Our waiter forgot about one order and had to be reminded. He brought the bill that was not matching four items of happy hour menu price ($15 more). The restaurant also charges shameless "SF mandated" fee.
Fries for my mussels came late. 90% of the mussels still had beard and there were lots of broken shells. It was a pretty hideous dinner. Very disappointed.
Well that was a very good restaurant. I went there with my twins and my wife and two of my nieces. We had avocado toast, we had croak madame, we had a delicious snacks all. We had beer and coffee and it was great
Short ribs and chicken were delicious. Love the beer pairing experience, Belgian waffle dessert was crispy and light, simply delightful.
The SF Restuarnt Week luncheon was delicious; served with a small green salad and the main course, chicken paillard on a bed of spinach, and tomatoes with some juice. $15 prixe fixe.
Salad Nicoise was fresh and well presented. Well Worth the try.
Will go back and try brunch on the weekend. Good sample of beers and plenty of other items to accompany.
A good find.
Michael the bartender is amazing!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Belga is a happy newcomer to the neighborhood. They serve good Belgian cuisine, more resembling French food than Belgium's heavier fare. Chicken is fantastic, as is their really good value NY steak frites. Fries are the thicker variety (as in Belgium) but are served crisp and are delicious. We also loved the mashed pea/avocado toast as an appetizer. Belga is not "cheap," but it's a better than average in the 2 dollar sign category. We'll be back again and again!
The food was good - not great. We really enjoyed the steak frites. The biggest problem with Belga is how loud it was. That is the main reason I won't return.
So disappointed at the changes . . . I had been here three times before when it truly was a Belgian-inspired place with a great selection of Belgians on tap, and the food was Belgian/French and they had the oh-my-god Belgian beer float sampler (3 Belgian beers paired with 3 Humphrey Slocombe ice cream flavors . . . insanely good). Sadly, when we went on New Year's Day they had several IPAs on tap (like every other CA bar--BOO!!) but only a handful of Belgian beers, and no tripels for me. :( The waitress was nice but did not seem to know anything about Belgian beers. The food was okay, frites with 3 sauces are still there at least, but the menu is clearly going Mediterranean/mid-eastern now, with pita bread and hummus and the like. The hubby's duck sausage was good, as were the frites, but I was not impressed with the rest of the food, and I was positively depressed to hear that they had stopped doing the beer float sampler--that is what I came all the way out from Lafayette for!! So sad and not going back; will stick to Monk's Kettle and Trappist for my Belgians. P.S. Note to owners: the name of the place is BELGA! Bring Belgium back!
NYE dinner started off nicely. Good atmosphere. Waited for like 25 min to order. Late and missing starters, 1 soup came 20 min before other starters. Waiter kept forgetting stuff. Charged for stuff we didn’t receive. Manager promised a refund after the visit. Never got one.
Everything was great! Drinks and dinner was wonderful! We had friends in town visiting and everyone enjoyed Belga! Thank you
How boring. How I miss Cafe Des Amis. Weird ambiance and decor given how seemingly little they changed from CDA. Terrible service. Sub par food for sure. Waste of time for dinner. Brunch was actually good on a previous visit. Oh well.
Awesome food and magnificent service. Thanks!
Very quiet not many people there
Food was tasty
We had the lunch special and shared a salad
Soup was great
Bibb salad was unremarkable
Food was cold. My salmon wasn’t cooked “well done” like I ordered. Everything else was great.
love this restaurant, good food and very good service!!!
Third time at Belga, won’t be back. Service simply did not exist-took forever to order drinks and food. They were out of steak in a Wednesday night for the steak frites-one a small handful of entree’s. Several of us had the chicken and it was so salty none of us could eat it. By the time we could find an employee to report the issue we no longer cared. Absolutely terrible
