Great job adopting the Covid precautions. We especially enjoy eating on the patio, and have been back many times. The way the patio is setup gives you a feeling of normalcy during the pandemic. Excellent food (great burgers!) and fancy space heaters.

Staff members - hostess + bartender + manager were sitting at the bar drinking and eating (with napkin in shirt as a bib) when we checked in. Food was sub par. My friend and I split the chicken avocado sandwich which was all bread, 2 small slices of avocado and no chicken. The fries were good. Decor was confused with the menu. Overpriced meets farmhouse.

Once again, Bel Campo provided an exceptionally delicious dining experience with outstanding service.

We ordered burgers and the lamb burger was good, really enjoyed the flavors. But the other 2 burgers were just ok and nothing special. If you want to try something other than a beef burger, this is your place. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive and professional—not overbearing. Shared Dessert—chocolate chip cookie and 2 scoops of ice cream—nice choice. Good ambience, tables spaced out well.

Had the belcampo burger. Absolutely delicious! Best tasting burger I've had in along time. The portion size is on the smaller side which I prefer and the in is brioche. Fries alittle disappointing. Not hot or crispy enough but since the burger was so good I forgave

We had just recently dined at this restaurant and could not wait to return. The staff is top notch and the food is culinarily amazing. You can never go wrong with the bone broth as a starter, accompaniment or main course. It is so rich and flavorful. Such clean flavors. Also a must try is the lamb burger. Well seasoned and simply dressed. It's like the perfect little black dress we girls need in our closet. Highly recommend.

The Manager and our Server at Belcampo went out to their way to accommodate our group, consisting of two households celebrating a family graduation, with two dogs, outside on their lovely, warm patio. We were cancelled with only 3 hours notice by the restaurant across the street, Paul Martin, and had to scramble in order to have our socially distanced celebration. Belcampo took very good care of us, we had plenty of time and space to celebrate, the steaks were fantastic and the drinks menu very complete; even a special menu for our pups! We highly recommend them!

This was my first in restaurant dining experience here. What a treat it was. I highly recommend the bone broth. So flavorful and the accompaning sauces add additional vibrancy. The deviled eggs were so full of flavor as well. I enjoyed the cobb salad with chicken. You can tell that every aspect of this menu and the items included are presented thoughtfully. Won't be the last time we come.

The food at Bel Campo is beyond compare. The quality of the meats, the freshness of the salads, and the food ideas with new additions to the menu and cocktails keeps it fun and exciting. Check out the new charcuterie platter! Andre the manager and his wait staff are personable, making you feel at home as if you're dining with friends. They care about the food AND the experience of dining with them. I'm so thrilled they're in San Mateo now.

We were seated 20 min after our reservation. Our food took much too long to arrive (particularly during a workday lunch) and the manager was terse and short Tempered, offering no apology for the slow service. To top it off, the $20 burgers were soggy and very disappointing. We ended up throwing most of the meal away—will definitely not return. We’ve dined several times in Marin and we were excited for this outpost but they are understaffed and if they can’t keep up now, I can’t imagine how poor the experience will be during “normal” times.

After a couple of takeout dinners from here (with mixed results), finally got to dine in and see if the food lives up to the hype.

The atmosphere is very utilitarian and noise echos a lot off the hard walls and floor. Service was attentive and timely.

We had the Steak Frites and a Prime NY steak with the whipped potatoes with grass fed butter. The Steak Frites was good but the NY was tough (even tho cooked to a perfect medium rare. The star of the night was the whipped potatoes which were AWESOME.

At $30-50 per plate, it’s not worth it. I can get a better steak, with 2 sides, for $10 less at an restaurant with a better ambiance down “Town” in San Carlos or in Downtown San Mateo. And if I’m craving a burger, the burger and shake shack across the plaza is where I’ll go.

We made reservations for 2 @ 6:30pm and arrived 5 mins early. We requested an inside table because it was a little cold outside. We were seated immediately. Hostess took us to the back (see pics). We were the only table there. No one came to take our drinks or food order. No one came by to say hello. At one point I raised my hand but still nothing. After 20 minutes, we walked back up to the hostess and asked if we could sit outside with everyone else since we hadn't been helped. She apologized and again seated us immediately. From there, everything was fine.

Steak and carrots were cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. Burger was a bit bland but the fries were delish.

Manager comp our drinks because of the mixup. He also gave us a broth tasting. Both broth were delicious but the chicken broth was phenomenal.

The ambiance was perfect for a cool crisp night.

Loved everything but the mishap at the beginning. Don't be the only table inside is our recommendation. I don't think the server knew we were there because the servers outside were fabulous.

My two adult sons and I enjoyed our meal and experience at Belcampo. I had the Thai Satay salad which was fresh and delicious. One of the sons had a lamb burger and the other had a Belcampo burger. We all shared the animal fat fries. All plates were empty. The service was excellent as well. They were very attentive and quick. I would repeat a visit and recommend this establishment.

Great venue. Huge. Quiet Monday night. I had the pork chop. No sides included. Just a pork chop on a plate for $34. A little disappointed and left a little hungry. Staff was super sweet. Afraid they will not last with expensive menu. Too many venues in the area with great food and cheaper prices. Throwing a vegi on the plate will bring me back.

Great service, hoping post Covid world will get them buzzing. Happy Hour is a good opportunity to try several starters & realistically priced drinks.

Restaurant is nice and spacious. Food is just okay. Our server took the order, served the food and disappeared. We weren’t sure if she took a lunch break after serving the food or was gone for the day. LOL! A couple of maybe their Managers took over but we’re too slow and never checked how the food was or what else we needed. It wasn’t busy though, only 3 tables booked at that time and the employees were just walking around.

I understand it’s still pandemic, but it’s very important to provide great customer service even with social distancing. The happy customers are your best salespeople.

The staff was so amazing and the food was phenomenal! Everything was hot tasty and fresh! The drinks were delish too!

Great outdoor spots, felt very safe and appropriately distanced. Will definitely look forward to going again!

Good place

It was a Monday night so the place was very quiet. I had a burger and friends had steak. Burger was good but nothing really outstanding. It may be due to covid but limited menu and really no appetizers to speak of. Service was good.

Menu selection was exciting - Lamb shawarma salad and butter cake desserts were tasty and different. Disappointed in chef's ability to cook a filet mignon at "medium-rare" - was overcooked on the outside and undercooked on the inside. Service was okay - server did not ask whether coffee was wanted with dessert ... a pet peeve of mine.

I am always challenged to find a restaurant with good food in San Mateo with a great atmosphere, so was thrilled to find Belcampo had such great food and atmosphere and offers very spacious indoor/outdoor seating. We ordered the kale Caesar- outstanding! Amazingly tender baby kale dressed perfectly in a house made dressing.
The chicken cutlet was cooked perfectly came with a yummy celery salad in a light vineagrette perfect compliment to the dish. Make sure to ask for a side of chimichurri to put on the chicken and you will be in heaven. The charred broccilini was excellent as well. Portion suzes Re very generous so dishes are great for sharing. They make great cocktails!!! Had a mexcal paloma with fresh grapefruit juice which was a 10! My only complaint would be they a very small wine list which definitely needs expanding.

We plan on coming back soon, HIGHLY recommend giving this restaurant a try and i am a real foodie, very picky about fresh ingredients and felt everything was very farm to table fresh and delicious!!

We came to have happy hour and hang out. The outdoor dining area is pretty spread out and at 5:30 there were not many people dining. If you are less comfortable being around people I recommend going on the early side of happy hour as the tables adjacent to you will not be filled. We got the lab souvlaki plate; the cauliflower rice we too were but other than that it was good

Service was mediocre. I believe the hostess made our cocktails. The martini glasses were not the normal size and shape.

Food was ok, not great. The french fries were excellent.

Food was delicious, but the service was discombobulated. Appetizers came out at the same time as the meal. Then had to ask about the fries which ended up arriving after we were done with our entrees. :(

Our server was amazing! I didn't get his name, but he was the charming black man with the attractive watch and bracelet.

We had a late afternoon meal and it was very quiet in and around the restaurant. We had a table outside which was well shaded and in the shadows of office buildings around us. The service, by a minimal crew, was very good and we go our food in short order. Our sandwiches were very tasty as was the beer. We will return here when he have more time to explore the menu. We travel from Sacramento about monthly so we will make a point of dining at Belcampo the next time down.

The outdoor space is great at Belcampo Hillsdale, and the food is great as always!

Everything we ordered was fantastic!! The bone broths are amazing! Loved our burger and those animal fat fries were absolutely delicious!! The bone broth bloody Mary was amazing also! Andre was fantastic! Can’t wait to visit again soon!!!

Food was so delicious!! Manager was very attentive and explained the menu well. Everything comes from their farm and is organic! Large patio with tables well spread out and following all COVID safety measures. We will be regulars!!
