The staff was very kind and attentive to our needs. They worked quite well within the limited time frame we had available just prior to attending a Broadway show. The food was delicious and well priced. There was plenty of room at the bar area if you didn't wish to be sat at a table. The location is prime as it was 2 blocks from ample parking garages and the shows. The only draw back is that the decor needs an overdue upgrade. It could easily be accomplished by recovering the ripped booths and chairs, pulling down wallpaper and adding a fresh coat of paint. The raw brick wall already adds a really nice cozy feel to the space.
Place was nice and comfortable. Waitstaff was excellent and attentive. The only thing was the food wasn’t good. Caesar salad was like some lettuce with some dressing. The main course was small but ok. The dessert was bland and cheap. Had one drink each. For $150 for 2 people I expected better food and decent portion.
This is the second time I’ve done here before seeing Broadway show. The service is impeccable, the food delicious and it is usually easy to get a table.
We went in on a Monday night before a show, and the restaurant was quiet and uncrowded. We were seated immediately. The service was attentive and friendly and we were served quickly. Good start!
The food was quite good and we were very satisfied with the overall experience. This is not amazing place that will change your life (good luck with that in the theater district!) but it is quite solid and a good value for the area and for a pre-theater meal. If you're looking for a nice meal in the northern half of the theater district, I recommend Bella Mia
I made reservations for 5:30 at 5:30 I showed up I got seated to my table and I had service right away the food was fantastic the waiters were fantastic you couldn't ask for anything better the food was cooked you couldn't ask for anything better than this we topped it off with dessert cheesecake and coffee we finished our meal and we walked over to the theater to enjoy a play but I must say one of the best restaurants I've been in in the last 14 years
La comida fue muy buena y el mesero que nos atendio fue muy atento. Celebramos año nuevo en este restaurante y sin duda valio la pena. A pesar que estaba lleno nos hicieron cupo por la reservacion que oreviamente habiamos realizados por este medio.
The lasagna was tasty, with an excellent marinara. But, it was seved cold.
Bella Mia took great care of us! We were going to an 8PM Theater show (Springsteen On Broadway!) and Bella Mia was perfect! The host (owner?) took great care of us, and we got to the show with plenty of time - it's just a 1/2 block from the Walter Kerr Theater. Thanks to Bella Mia!
The food was delicious. The pizza was good but the pastas that we ordered were even better. The only issue we had was that we never got a designated server so we had to flag down a random employee anytime we needed something. That being said, they took good care of us when we did flag them down and the food came out promptly which is a benefit for those people headed to Broadway shows.
6:15 reservations and a show at 8pm. After we were seated, it took 20 minutes for a waiter to come to our table to take a drink order. After we got our drinks, the waiter took our appetizer and salad order. We put our dinner order in at the same time because we were going to a show and figured it would save time. We got our appetizer and salad in a timely manner. 30 minutes later we had to ask the waiter to check on our meal as it was getting late. He came back with our meal and it was cold. Now it’s 7:35pm They offered to heat it up but we now had 15 minutes to get to our show so we asked for the check. A classy place would have comped the 2 drinks and appetizer and salad. Not here. $50 bill and off to the show starving. So disappointed!!!
After making a reservation weeks in advance we were told at the door that there would be a long wait due to unreservationed guests who were already seated. As we had theater tickets and had an hour window in which to eat any wait would cause issues. The reservation person did get us seated within 20 minutes but our waiter pretty much made us feel unwelcome. He was rude beyond words. He told us we were the ones wasting time by not ordering quickly but there was no way that we would be able to get an entrée under a half hour.We decided to simply get a caprese salad to speed things along after asking the people at the next table (which was practically in our laps) how long it took to get their meals and was told at least 45 minutes. The salad had no flavor and barely any balsamic on it at all. We were about to walk the check due to the total unattentiveness of the waiter, when he magically appeared. Needless to say we did NOT tip and would never think to visit this establishment again should we be in New York.
Food was ok but we had to wait 40 minutes for two dishes: salmon and pasta. We were late for our 6:30 pm appointment.
This was an after show dinner, middle of a Sunday afternoon. Restaurant was quiet, food delicious and service friendly and responsive. Pierro is always gracious and friendly—we look forward to our visits.
Very mediocre. The wine tasted watered down. The food was just edible, not very flavorful. Chose this restaurant because of its proximity to theatre. Would not go again.
Good Italian restaurant, food was delicious and service excellent. Found on OpenTable, was in the city for the Springsteen show. Very convenient to the entire theater district. Recommend highly.
We were warmly welcomed and enjoyed a delicious meal. Weather was awful so restaurant was quiet. Enjoyed our visit as always.
We ate at Bella Mia after a Broadway performance. One of our favorite menu items is Nonna's lasagne. I enjoy that item so much I find it hard to order anything else. Other members of our party enjoyed their orders equally as much. The restaurant is convenient to Broadway and, for the most part, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Definitely a find in a busy area.
The $ Branzino a sad salty plate of slop.
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous authentic Italian meal this evening. The wait staff was friendly, accommodating and right "off the boat". The Olive oil and Salmuni e Formaggi was to die for as were our meals (Orrechiette Pulglise and Capellini Primavera) I truly enjoyed my dinner and was extremely excited that I was able to have a conversation in Italian with real Italians!! Our only complaint is that the bread was not real Italian bread, but rather basic rolls. Oh...and the cappuccino was amazing!! Better then mine!!
Welcoming staff. Good Italian food, better than home cooking. Amiable atmosphere.
bella mia was closed. we ate at cara mia instead. ..............
The noise level was so quiet!! The service was non-existent. The food was invisible and tasteless. There was no ketchup on the tables The waitress was kind of a stiff. Oh wait.. the restaurant was out of business. So we went to Becco and that was delicious.
Restaurant is closed gone out of business. Open table needs to make users aware of this fact.
They closed their doors permanently. The place is becoming a different restaurant.
I made a reservation at this restaurant about a month ago. It has always been our favorite Italian restaurant in NYC. We went the night of our reservation and were amazed to find that the restaurant was closed and was being turned into a Cuban restaurant. I received no call or email to let me know this. Thankfully, we were able to find another place around the corner that had a table available since we were pressed for time having a show to attend that night.
I didn't like the wine choices and felt that the place was very outdated and the prices were too pricey. It was also a hot day and the air conditioner wasn't on.
Had the Fettuccine Verdi ~ delicious!! We'll definitely be back on our next trip to NYC!
Pietrasanta is a wonderful restaurant, due in part to its delicious food, and in part to its personalized service. The menu is diversified, with homemade pasta, and many other great choices. They have an excellent prix fixe menu for both lunch and dinner. The wait staff are pleasant and knowledgeable, and the owner, Pietro, is a delightfully charming man who makes the rounds, stopping by each table to make certain every customer is pleased with their meal. They are moving to larger quarters in May 2017, close by, with the same access to the Broadway theaters. Check it out. You won't be disappointed!
We were celebrating a birthday and went post theatre. We pretty much had restaurant to ourselves . The food and service was excellent . From appetizers to desserts! The staff was attentive and nice . Would definitely go back!
Good service and recommendations off the menu. Reasonable price for ala carte and price fix menu. Would go again before theater.
