I had a 6:15 reservation, and my date was running a little late. When she finally arrived it was well after the reserved time, but the hostess sat us immediately anyway. After about 15 minutes our server still had not greeted us. I got the attention of another server and she took our drink order. 5 minutes later our drinks arrived with finally our server, she introduced herself and took our food order. She only came back to check on us 3times in 2hrs. ,but she found time for her other tables. Everything was great except our server!
The food and ambiance were great, but the service was poor.
Showed up on a whim as we explored the area and had a late lunch/early dinner on a Saturday evening. Not too busy inside but apparently the patio was packed. Food was incredible and the ambiance was great - but the service was very slow and not very welcoming.
This is a special place and one of our favorites. We love bring visitors here for the tasty cocktails, great oysters, awesome food. The lobster roll and salt and pepper squid are a must try!!!
I particularly liked the smaller plates. They were interesting and tasted. Unfortunately for me, they offered very few main dishes that are gluten free, a requirement. I thought the ambiance was a bit stark for the price point. I will certainly be back for more of the intros.
Delicious oysters and salmon. Highly recommended both.
Best egg rolls I've ever had in my life :-). First time there - nice oyster selection, loved the lobster style oysters from Prince Edward Island. The cauliflower was great. The ribs tasty, the spaghetti squash meh and the clams meh. But that's after having the best clams ever on Prince Edward Island last year. Overall very good experience.
Shrimp Sugo was way too spicy to eat and there was no warning/indication of it’s spiciness. Oysters and lobster roll were delicious.
Lively place in a 'happening' area with fantactic food, especially the oysters. Service was spot on! They even brough us a nice dessert for my daughter's birthday. Highly recommend!
Beetle cat has is a lovely restaurant however I must say some of the food fell flat to me aside from the tuna oysters and lobster I wasn’t too impressed with the food besides the three listed there wasn’t anything that I truly loved maybe I was getting the wrong thing things the chefs on a talent level are Phenomenal the calamari was perfectly cooked but was breaded in a way I just couldn’t feel a lot of the flavor profiles of dish were experimental which is fine however none of them truly stuck with me
Great food, great shared plates for a group
The "Collar" fish we got was all bone... was told hardly any bones and didn't get much fish off of it! Waiter was slow. But loved the inside
I always love Beetlecat. Food is great and service is super attentive! And I adore the Royal Hawaiian cocktail!
we thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the highland st. patio watching passersby. great people watching spot, and the service and food were fantastic.
Oh my word!!! Fun AND the food was awesome. Hello Lobster Roll!! Server Kevin was 5 star too.
The food was very good and the service was as well. This is a nice little spot with some unique cocktails and menu items.
Great brunch drink and food selection. Great service!
I’ve been to Beetlecat twice when visiting Atlanta and enjoyed it both times. The food is excellent — our table especially enjoyed the stew. the whole branzino, and th kale salad. The vibe of the place is great —a beautifully designed space, a little noisy but not deafening. Our service was friendly but slow — we waited more than 5 minutes for our drink order, for instance — but it wasn’t enough to ruin the experience.
I have eaten here many times and chose to bring some work colleagues from OOT. I felt as though we were served the leftovers from Valentines dinner. The oysters were good, but entrees were not.
The oysters from Maryland & Virginia were good. The lobster roll with salted chips were a great combination. The lobster portion size was just right.
The brunch and setting were great. I can't wait to experience dinner.
Have been multiple times to this place for drinks but not for a sit down meal.
Atmosphere: We sat in the den and love the vibe there.
Drinks/ Food: The donuts are awesome and we’ve also had awesome cocktails here on previous occasions.
The hash specialties are so so and the coffee was not great.
Service: could have been better. Not very attentive, order was not completely right and they didn’t do anything even though I had mentioned in reservation notes it was for a bday.
We would come back but they should work on the service piece
We came here for a birthday party and again were served by an attentive staff who treated us friendly in every way. We dined with 2 toddlers and the staff treated us like it was normal to have kids there! Will continue to go back there for good food and great service!
I would recommend Beetlecat to someone who likes Oysters but not for anything else.
Awesome meal and can't believe we had not tried this place until now. Really great flavors and not afraid to be spicy which is admirable. Started with the tuna tartar which had really unique flavor we had not had before in this dish in other places and we always order it wherever we go. Then had the shrimp sugo which was beyond delicious and super spicy which was surprising. We love spicy food and typically don't think anything is that spicy, but that dish had some heat and was amazing. I even took the rest of the sauce home in a little dressing container! Next was the lobster roll which my husband had. I took a tiny bite and it was way too rich for me, loaded with butter in the bread and then a heaping amount of something that looked like white butter on top - really excessive. Husband said it was good, but way to rich so won't get it again. Then we had the collar fish. Wow, awesome Asian flavors and tons of actual fish. We were so stuffed. The only downer was there were still lots of scales on the skin, so had to avoid that. That was the only negative keeping me from giving 5 stars as I had few bites of scales and had to spit out. Otherwise, will definitely be back.
Wonderful ambiance, not too dark or quiet. Was a great dining experience with a excellent management and wait staff. We ordered the Tuna Tartare, Blue Crab w egg noodles, and Mussels. The tuna was perfectly seasoned and served with delightfully seasoned crispy tuna skin. The mussels were delightful and served in a rich, succulent sauce with a side if toasty bread to mop it all up. Luckily the wait staff offered extra toast for broth, knowing that most people would ask! The blue crab pasta was packed with umami, the egg noodles were chewy and well coated in a decadent garlic sauce. The blue crab meat added a salty element remincent of the sea a balanced the overall richness of the dish. Located in Iman Park, Beetle Cat is a great destination for the start or end to your evening!
Great service and warm atmosphere. The food was very tasty and tangy. The drive was worth it.
Wonderful Valentine’s Day menu! Staff was so considerate especially with dietary/allergies.
Great Valentine’s date night with my wife. Service was outstanding and food was great.
Great Service staff was very friendly, I made reservations and the Host was very responsive
We went for brunch, loved our server! He was great about dropping by and making suggestions, also gave us a free donut! Their brunch menu was absolutely delicious, I'd suggest the hominy hash and ANY of their donuts. Amazing. Although I thought the mimosas were a bit pricey (I'm coming from DC where you can get bottomless for a good $)... paying $9 for one mimosa seemed too steep to me. Everything else was absolutely reasonable.
We went for the Sunday donut brunch. Donuts were perfect!!!! Eel Benedict not so much. I had expected a classic Benny topped with crispy smoked eel as a garnish but received a super large portion of eel then the egg and garnish. The eel was TOOOOO MUCH and the egg was over cooked.
Get the donuts and literally anything else but the Eel Benny,.
Definitely don't miss the really unique bar downstairs. It might be packed but its a blast!
Bettle cat never disappoints. The oyster happy hour was the perfect liver before dinner service.
Was not aware that this was a small plate restaurant.
That lobster roll! Sooo good. Tried dessert in this visit - the chocolate cake and the coconut pie did not disappoint.
I sent several guest from the Hotel Clermont over superbowl and they loved it.
Great service, tasty food, and friendly, fun atmosphere. We came for brunch, but will definitely be back to try dinner soon!
Disappointing. Red Lobster level quality at twice the price. I have no idea why this place is so highly rated. Service was OK though.
