   We come here often but usually after 5pm so I wasn’t aware that they served brunch on Sundays until 3pm. But we’ve never had a bad experience so I figured it would be okay. It wasn’t. The service was subpar (although our server was kind she seemed stretched. She served the table next to us for 10 minutes before she came over to introduce herself as our server). The donut was good by the food wasn’t great. It just wasn’t what we were used to. One of the servers we see when we come after five stoped by the table and asked how we were doing and my husband commented “this isn’t the regular crew.” The server said “nope. This isn’t the A squad at all.” We’ll be back during our regular time but never again for brunch.

   The restaurant was not full, and the hostesses were turning people away. So, I made a reservation on open table on the spot and was seated 5 minutes later. I'm not sure why they were turning people away. The whole time there the place was not busy.

   Had a late reservation. The kitchen closed before we were finished ordering. The waiter did not tell us that the kitchen was closing. Not sure why we were giving a late reservation if the kitchen was closed.

   Food was very good. But serving fish and chips in a large bowl rather than on a plate seemed unnecessary, and made it a little awkward to eat comfortably.

   Juliana was an incredible server! We used to be regulars here pre-Covid and are pleased to say it’s still amazing now. Most restaurants have lost that quality of service so it was refreshing that our server was great. The food is always amazing here. We sampled several raw oysters, had the fish dip, enjoyed the lobster roll, whole branzino and collar dish. We typically don’t get desserts but, once again, our server sold us on the chocolate cake and key lime pie. She even told us about the upcoming donut brunches on the weekend. We will have to make time to come back for those.

    First time ever trying this place and loved the decor and the 1st floor, they sat us downstairs by they bar which on a Saturday has a dj and I couldn’t hear my date much but the food was delicious but I recommend sitting upstairs or do not go on a Saturday!

    The food here is very good and for this price point - which it is worth - i should not have my food come out before the cocktail and the main course come out before I’ve started my first course. I love the food here and our waiter was very pleasant but i won’t be coming back. Not a great experience.

    Good vibes and great food, the only complications we had was the slow service and orders being brought to our table four separate times that were not ours. Other than those few hiccups, everything was great!

    Came here tonight with my dad who was visiting out of town. The three starts are for the service. The food alone was a 5. When we arrived the hostess with the head scarf made my father and I wait to be seated despite reservations, while two other parties of white patrons were seated ahead of us on the on the main level. When it was our time to be seated she took us downstairs and sat us in the loud college-like bar with janky wooden tables despite my open table request asking for main dining room seating. Once we were seated downstairs it was so loud and patrons were yelling. Not our vibe to catch up so our kind waitress got us seated back upstairs. Hostess with headdress continued eyeing us and asked if we were there for a special occasion like we couldn’t regularly dine here and did not ask the other white patrons before us. Sucks we felt targeted by her but aside from that we enjoyed our food and waitress. Please note, they do not honor open table requests regarding seating so unsure why they ask you for your preference. Not sure if I’d recommend to black folks given our experience.

    Beetlecat is one of my favorite spots but I must say I was a little disappointed with the lobster roll today. It’s something I get often and today it just wasn’t up to par. Not as buttery as usual and more expensive then I remembered. Otherwise the rest of the food was good! Love the atmosphere of the restaurant.

    The oysters are phenomenal. Branzino was moist and crispy. Our server was on Friday Feb 26, 2023, worked the patio 2nd table near the end, very attentive, knowledgeable, and not pretentious. Excellent, she is petite, cannot remember her name. Kudos. My friend and I sat a long time and she never rushed us. I can say I truly like the dinner menu. I wasn't ever going back based on that donut brunch I had a couple of years ago. Glad I gave dinner opportunity. I will be back.

    We were there over 3 hours because of the very slow service. All we got was oysters and it took over an hour before we saw anything and it was only 1/3 of our order. They kept coming out one at a time. Terrible experience. Not even very crowded, and other tables seemed to be served before we were even though we were first to be seated and order

    We always have a great experience at Beetlecat. Food was fantastic! Service was a bit slow last night - but our waitress was on top of things. We did have a reservation and my only complaint is that usually we have to wait 15 minutes to be seated even when we have a rest. Otherwise, great night. We will be back!

    Had the tuna the beets for apps along with the Bow and Arrow melon. Lovely. Followed with the branzino . Service was great. I’m glad we dined downstairs. Much more laid back vibe. Cool bathrooms. I’ll be back.

    We descended into The Den for oysters and cocktails before heading to a show at the Variety Playhouse. Beetlecat's fresh oyster menu is excellent, but the baked oysters are even better! We had Beausoleils, South Lakes, and Blue Points on the half shell, and we ended up ordering two platters of the baked oysters because they were so delicious. We also tried the ceviche, which was intriguing but a little too much hot pepper for our taste. The Salty Dog was just the right combination of sour and salty. We will definitely be back.

    This restaurant was recommended to us by a local as we’re from out of town (Minneapolis). First, the ambiance is great! It’s cute. Second, the service was wonderful! Our waiter really knew his stuff. The reason for three stars: Price and quality. 40 dollars for mahi mahi isn’t a lot, but we would expect better prep (it was well done plus) and presentation (it came with paper thin radish and a couple of tomatoes. Overall meh. The famous lobster roll was good, but perhaps the menu should say it’s cold! I honestly had Po’boy at fish camp in the ponce mkt that way way better and 1/3 the price. Finally for good, the ceviche was excellent! Small! But very good. Drinks were ok. They had many bartenders so I’d have preferred handmade drinks not premade on tap. The price was right for those. The kettle one martini small for their price. I’m not saying you won’t enjoy the place but it’s a bit overpriced at this point and the sandwich thst made them famous was a disappointment

    The food wasn't that great. The baked oysters were burnt and I wasn't too crazy about the kimchi fried rice. Had no flavor really. I did enjoy the lobster roll, even though I would prefer it in a roll and not a bun. I've been years ago and loved it, not sure why this time wasn't hitting me the same.

    We just had an amazing meal at Beetlecat! We tried it for a second time and were blown away at how delicious everything was that we ordered. The salt and pepper squid was flavored perfectly and the fry bread was a favorite. TJ was so knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on. We can’t wait to go back and highly recommend to others.

    Tasty food. Cocktails were nice. Would have been better if made with fresh fruit juice and not canned. Seating was too close for comfort. Spread the small tables out about two feet and it would have been great.
