Beehive Ratings and Reviews
Not the type to leave a bad review but I would not recommend this place at all. The women at the front door made a joke that pertained to race, the waitress seemed annoyed and impatient when the menu isn’t clear cut at all, I felt rushed and towards the end of the night it gets very bar like definitely not what I wanted. Manager is nice drinks are strong are about the nice things I have to say about this place. Worst dining experience I’ve ever had.
Went for Saturday brunch, the host told us we needed a reservation or we could be added to a cancelation list, or sit at the bar. We were not added to the cancelation list but we went outside and looked on opentable and we were able to get a reservation for 4 people at 12 (it was about 11:50 when we reserved it). Went back in and we were seated right away with our new reservation. Thanks opentable!
We have gone to the Sunday Jazz brunch before and it was great. I booked on OpenTable knowing that it would be crowded. It has lost it charm and vibe. They seem to fall into the high volume trap -- they are popular but now its speed of execution. the food is not "done" or complete...the server was honest on recommendations on what to order. I was the only one that didn't take his recommendation -- was a mistake. They had a band but they seemed to be on break for the hour + we were there. Too bad!!
We arrived a bit early but were seated right away. The service from the time we entered until the time we left was excellent. The menu was quite varied and multiple styles. I had the vegetable curry and my wife had the chicken and both were excellent. There is a jice wine list and beer on tap is very good. We shared the bread pudding for desert. There may be other items on the desert list but as soon as I hear bread pudding, I don't pay attention to any other items. The Live Jazz starts early on Friday night so that was a pleasant surprise. We are looking forward to returning to try their Sunday Brunch. I would strongly recommend this restaurant.
Beehive has a funky decor and ambiance, which sometimes is a good sign and sometimes not. The food is fabulous. I would go back again and again! On Thursday night there was live jazz, not so loud that it interfered with conversation and quite good musically. Great place to have dinner before a show at BCA.
Don't go here! I want it all to myself! Seriously, we've found it difficult to get a table at Beehive and always leave wishing we went more often. Great atmosphere. Great service. Delicious and creative drinks and food. The jazz was wonderful. Hope to, again, soon.
Not kid friendly at all. Showed up for birthday dinner and once the host at the front door saw we had 2 kids in tow he called into his walkie talkie to move our 6 top upstairs. It was 5:30, place was empty. Told him we came here to be on main floor and came early hoping to be close to stage. Guy shrugged and made us wait while they created the 6 top upstairs by the entrance. Really not the type or service I was expecting from a place like this. I need to also mention that our server was top notch, very professional and did his job very well! The same cannot be said of the host at the front door.
The place looks awesome. If you are looking for a nice place with live music this is probably it. I thought the food was expensive for the quality. Wasn’t impressed with at all. My husband like his burger. I order the salmon and didn’t think much of it. Our server was really nice and friendly. Music was great too, but it’s super loud left with a soar throat. Lol but overall experience was good! Recommend.
The food was delectable, the za'atar chicken tasty and moist. The kale and beet salad was interesting and saltier than expected. I enjoyed it--my date didn't. The it was nice that the jazz was quiet enough to talk over but I had assumed prior to going there that the music would be better.
Been here many times after over the years. Mostly ate at the bar and occasionally at a table. Food is decent but nothing special. An old reliable when you are not looking for a gourmet meal nor a hefty check but is close to the theater. Friendly staff; ideal decor for a Halloween meal.
So disappointed, the food has gone downhill to the point where we can no longer go there despite the fact that we generally enjoy the music. For brunch, 3 of us ordered the "huge dinner salad" with salmon ($21). The salad was described as greens with beans, avocado and candied walnuts. What we each got was a medium sized bowl of greens, a few thin slices of avocado with brown spots around the edge of the bowl and literally two or three crumbs of walnuts, not candied walnuts (not even the equivalent of one walnut half). No beans. It almost looked silly, a bowl of lettuce with nothing else. I missed the good old days of large, freshly prepared servings of interesting food.
We were looking for a place for brunch and saw reviews for Beehive and thought we'd check it out. What a find! Unobtrusive but excellent jazz music played in the background while we got to enjoy some outstanding dishes. High praise to the short rib Benedict (though I would have liked the English muffin a bit crispier) and the salmon cake with poached egg on top. The potatoes with the Benedict were amazing. Excellent Bloody Mary's and bubbly drinks. No room for dessert. Service was helpful and attentive.
The only other comment was that the bathrooms while nicely graffitied, could have been a bit cleaner.
Limited menu but the ambiance more than makes up for it. A great place to celebrate a special occasion. But don’t go if you are looking for a quite table in the corner for a romantic dinner. It is a very lively place and even though it was only my first time there it is definitely one of my favorite places now.
I came for brunch with 2 of my friends and we all had never been to Beehive before. The food was incredible. The service was awesome. The live music was so calming and such a nice touch. We got seated upstairs but there was a projector showing the live music on the wall for the people upstairs who couldn't see it. I have already recommended this place to 3 of my friends at work.
