It's always fun going to Beehive. Lots of great energy, terrific service and an eclectic menu. It never disappoints.

I'm a frequent visitor the the 'Hive and I absolutely love it. Went on Armenian Night and the food was just outstanding. I wish I could have sat a little closer to the music but as usual it was a great experience. Viva La Beehive!

Th "scene" is great but the restaurant is very loud and it may not be appropriate for a romantic dinner or a dinner with older parents.

Great jazz and blues in a funky Bohemian setting. Several bars and dining areas, some right at the stage and others farther away. Food is much better and more interesting than you would expect to find at a music club. Good and thoughtful wine list. Consistently great staff, whose service varies between the warmth and attentiveness of a good restaurant and, well, what you would expect at a busy music club. Saturday night was wild; I had to wait a long time for a table despite a dinner reservation, but then, waiting at this place is more fun than dining at most places. Sunday night was more easygoing, as befits a night of blues jams.

While visiting my daughter in Boston, she told me about the Beehive. Prior to her telling me I saw the chef, Rebecca, win Chopped on the Food Network so I was anxious to try it. Our first impression was with the bartender ( wish I had his name). He was friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. We had a drink at the bar and then shown to a table downstairs where a jazz band was playing. We looked at the menu online before going and were excited to try some things but the bartender told us his favorites so we tried them. The french toast was delicious as well as the short rib grilled cheese. Service was excellent as well as ambiance. I cannot wait to go back to Boston to go back to the Beehive!!!

I made a reservation Monday for Saturday. I requested a table with a view of the stage. They were not very accomadating, esp for a 6:30pm seating on Sat night. We sat right next to the door and the bar which is a horrible location for a party of 6. Not a good place for parties or if you would actually like to talk to any of the people in your party! Too bad because it looked like a cool place with a decent menu. Even the waiter got part of the order wrong because he couldnt hear us either! Very Pricey for what you get!

Great specialty cocktails. VERY tight seating. Expensive wine list doesn't seem to match up with paper napkins and brown paper table cover....carafes seem a better fit.

Without a doubt, one of the best pork dishes (Rack of pork with Brussels sprouts and prosciutto potatoes) I've ever had. Truly memorable. Everyone in my party raved about their dishes. Light jazz punctuated a great evening. The only thing I regret about our server is forgetting her name to put here. She was terrific; attentive, friendly and very food savvy.

Good family food. Good selection, not too high end. The service was fantastic and catered to our kids. Jazz banded included made it quite nice.

I definitely enjoyed my whole experience at The Beehive. I went for a dinner with my sister and her boyfriend and we had a great time! We had great, speedy service that was given with a smile and the live music was a great touch for ambiance. I particularly enjoyed that night's theme of music, Latin/Jazz with many instrumental solos. It was also great to see large groups mixed with families among the customers at the tables. Great job, Beehive! I'll definitely be returning for another great meal.

We have dined at the Beehive three times,a nd each time I am more and more in love with this restaurant. The staff is great fun, the scene is hip (especially for someone too middle-aged to consider themselves hip) and the selection of food is only rivaled by the wonderful music. 2 out of three times I have gone with my Pre-school aged child, and while there are specific menu items for children at brunch, there were enough items to "simplify" on the dinner to make the picky eater happy. I did not select this to be a "kid friendly" restaurant, you just need to know your kid, and don't expect a box of crayons and a coloring book... However, if your kid can handle music and a busy place, it is ideal. Mine loves the music and sitting neat bands

Food was fine, place a bit loud. What I don't understand - and this is not relevant to just Beehive - is why when I made a reservation over 2 weeks in advance, for a very early seating (5:30pm), and with the restaurant 3/4 empty, we are seated at the table right next to the kitchen?? We asked to be moved and were acccommodated, but why do restaurants do this?

Made a reso for 2 at 6:30PM, wanted to hear some live jazz while we had dinner. At the last minute we had a couple of friends join us, the hostess didn't have any tables for four but found us seats at the bar. Had a good time.

Food is decent but overpriced for what it is. The ambiance is intimate, shadowy and close. Good drink selection, good music, but unfortunately, the food is just not what I'd expect from their prices. It would be a good date spot I suppose if you weren't expecting great food and looking more for cocktails/atmosphere. Perhaps just drinks would be in order.

Drinks are outstanding, live entertainment is great, and it's a great atmosphere. However I've eaten here twice and have been underwhelmed by my meal and my boyfriends meal both times. This time i had the duck which was extremely fatty and difficult to cut/chew. My boyfriend had the skirt steak which he said was "okay" but the onion rings that came with it weren't very good. The flatbread pizza appetizer was very good though. Will definitely be back for drinks, apps, and music. I'd skip dinner though.

We loved the atmosphere when we walked in. Very different and fun. We were a party of 4 and we all ordered a different main course. My husband's piece of fish was on the small side but very good. The rest of us had very filling meals. Our waiter was great and very attentive. Wouldn't hesitate going back.

I expected Beehive to be more of a fun "scene" on a Tuesday at 8pm. The restaurant did not achieve good mood lighting and it was quiet even when the live jazz band started up. The food was sub-par but the varied menu may have been intriguing to someone with ecclectic tastes. I did LOVE the decor--whoever did Beehive's interior decorating is a creative genius!

Love the Beehive. The neighborhood offers so many choices that the Beehive has to do what it does (fabulous interior, friendly service, great live music) with skill and panache. If it's superb food you want, go next door to Hammersley's (and pay the price). If the prices even at the Beehive are too steep, walk a block east and eat at Picco. We are so incredibly lucky in this nabe to have so many fine choices, but there's no place in town as funky/lively/delightful as the Beehive.

Although it was RW, we had a great experience despite some of the negative reviews I'd read. First, our service was excellent. The staff was extremely friendly and quick to take our orders, deliver our food and fill our wine glasses but we were never rushed. The food was outstanding - possibly the best dinner we've enjoyed in Boston in a very long time. Although our table was on the small side, we were seated with a great view of the jazz band. The restaurant was not quiet but we knew what to expect: this is a place that is very energetic yet relaxed with excellent food and live music. If you want quiet and romantic, you could wait for outdoor seating. It was a perfect spot for a lively mid-week date with my husband.

Went here with friends from out of town for restaurant week. I've been wanting to try it for awhile and it did not disapoint! The food was delicious. I had the rib eye and it was cooked just how I like (medium rare) and was so tender. I appreciated that their rw menu included their entire normal menu with a few items marked up (totally reasonable).

Our server was super energetic and answered all questions and really knew the menu. She took time with us and it did not go unnoticed!

I will hopefully be back soon!!!

I really love the scene at the beehive. This was my second time eating there, and this time I went for restaurant with a group of 8. I remembered my meal being so much better the last time I went to beehive. My tuna was flaky and really overcooked - it was very disappointing. Also, I remembered the last time I was there they had such an emphasis on "local ingredients". Looking over the menu when I went there wasn't one mention of local ingredients... maybe it was just a restaurant week thing, but overall I was pretty disappointed.
