The staff did a fantastic job of handling our request for a table near the band despite the fact that some members of our party were late. We appreciate the good wait service at the table as well. The food was very good, but expanding the menu a bit would be nice. Will definitely visit again.
Beehive continues to impress. This was my second visit (dinner at downstairs bar, both occasions). Bartenders thus far have been extremely friendly, knowledgeable, helpful, informative and down to earth. I will keep going to Beehive as long as it exists. Your food is awesome. The only drawback to this restaurant comes down to prices. I think they could shave a couple dollars off the entrees and a buck or two off the drinks.
This is a wonderful establishment. Right from the door, you are entering another world. The decor is wonderful and the live music is great. The seasonal changing menu is always fresh, exciting and delicious. Jacob, was a pleasure to meet. Friendly and outgoing with out being intrusive, he is knowledgeable and a joy to speak with. This is a wonderful place anytime of day. We plan to go back very soon.
Outstanding brunch menu, fun atmosphere, nice to have live music
Terrible experience. I went with a friend from out of town and was so disappointed. Our waitress was initially trite, progressed to being flatly rude, finally essentially ignored us. I work in a service industry and was astonished by her behavior. I spoke with a manager who had nothing to say about it and suggested I call the next day. The atmosphere is fun, if you avoid the staff.
I took my husband and 12 year old daughter here for an early dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. My husband loves jazz and food and this turned out to be the right place. We were seated on the upper floor with a few to the stage. I had the morroccan lamb. The meat was tender, the spices not overwhelming but definitely there. Our daughter ordered off the regular menu but the waiter promised they could wipe up a grilled cheese if needed. She commented on the chunks of lobster in the lobster bisque. The music was a soulful trio with a singer that reminded us of Diana Krull. The only downside was that our great table was also in line for the door for it was a bit chilly at times. Go early. Appropriate for older children.
Food was great. Our server Christian was excelent and made our night ever better. Total package.
LOVE the decor.
We will be back!
The Best Brunch I have had in Boston! The Eggs Shukshanka are amazing!!! Great server!
The live music was really great, the cocktails were amazing and the poutine was to die for. This place really is a gem. Everything was absolutely delicious.
Each year my friends and I choose a different restaurant for our annual holiday ornament swap. We loved Beehive and will visit it again!
Great amazing food. Even though the menu items that I had scoped out weren't available, I still left satisfied. Rack of pork was well cooked and juicy. The Honey Highball was a great drink and was unique. Will definitely come back to enjoy the live music and enjoy more of their food and drinks.
Enjoyed eating inside for the first inside. I have been to Beehive and enjoyed in the warm weather the outside scene. This was very good on Sunday for brunch with the jazz musicians playing.
Very fun neighborhood place to go-- staff is very accommodating!
Very cool atmosphere, if a little cramped (we sat almost on top of the large group next to us). Would've been good to know that the Santa Brunch was happening the Sunday we went because it was certainly hectic (and probably had many more children than usual).
Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. They were out of beignets, so we'll have to go back for those!
We were seated an hour past our reservation, which I understand as it was very busy. However, our waiter then proceeded to rush us the entire meal since we were his last table for the night.
The service was poor. We were told that we would have 45 minutes left even we had just sat there not even an hour. The manager was quite impolite doing that. The food quality was alright--nothing special but rather too expensive. I never drank a pint of regular beer that cost 10 bucks before! I would strongly discouraged people to visit this restaurant.
Went for my daughter's 18th birthday, looking for sophisticated fun and the Beehive was a perfect choice! Live jazz was playing and hostess/wait staff were extremely friendly and attentive. Food was large tasty portions for a very reasonable price. Band was very good too!
Drinks were great and fun! The bartender was entertaining and our waitress was upbeat. We had the peroigies - definitely recommend and each had a burger. Good scene, I would go back.
The service was outstanding from the hostess to the servers. The food was flavorful, abundant and served hot. The noise level was a bit extreme for my 86 yr old mother but we loved the jazz and the energy of the place.
Brought a friend from France and she loved it. She kept telling me that I had chosen a great spot. No doubt Beehive (La Ruche) will be on her list next time she visits.
I LOVE the Beehive. This place was so eclectic and cool. The perogie's and mussles are a must must must! Not too expensive.
excellent food, great service!!! will go back for sure!!
love the food and the atmosphere. Would go again.
Great atmosphere. The music was awesome. The venue is perfect for a romantic evening or a last minute idea. The staff were friendly and professional.
Fun, Funky and Fabulous. The perfect mix of a local watering hole, a top tier restaurant and a smooth jazz lounge. Start at the bar with a cocktail and then dive into a menu as eclactic as the decor, mix in live music and you have the kind of evening which is a standard in New York and Chicago but a rarity in Boston. Arrive early, eat and drink hearty, go home happy.
Food was excelent service was outstanding our waitress Jen very knowledgeable about what was on the menu.
A special place. In a historic theater area, yet infused with youthful edge. Vibrant staff was welcoming and fun. Unique decor and outstanding menu.
Very crowded & noisy; tables too close together . . . fine for a bar scene, but not very relaxing for brunch. You can't hear the jazz combo unless you are seated very close to them because of the noise level. Food not worth the hassle.
Food was great and hosts were so helpful. We had to move our reservation because members of our party were running late. The hosts were very sweet about it, and sat us 1.5 hours later then our reservation was for. One rec would be to request sitting downstairs, didn't love the upstairs as much as I love downstairs.
For me the beehive is alll about the music.
Great find! Excellent meal, ambiance and service! Live jazz - but acoustics are so good that it doesn't block your conversation. Will definitely return often!
We were seated promptly upon our arrival. Our server was amazing and provided helpful suggestions based on what we were looking to experience on the menu. Our drinks were always fresh and/or refreshed ontime. The jazz band was very entertaining. Overall we had a very pleasant experience.
The waitstaff and management were very rude to us. What food we did have was of poor quality. Too bad....the band was great! We will never return to the Beehive. We had a terrible experience....it basically wrecked the rest of our night.
We are regular at Beehive and I cannot say enough how enjoyable eating at the Beehive is. We bring everyone we know there and they all have a great time. Between the super friendly staff, the great food and the live music, what is there not to love? My favorites there are the Moroccan cigars, the appetizers pizza and the baby back ribs.
What a great place, great food, ambience, music....
What a wonderful place my sister flew up from Sarasota Florida and we were looking for a place to go for Thanksgiving dinner we got 930 reservations had a just the most beautiful meal ever and listen to great jazz band I would recommend it to anyone
The atmosphere was very nice at the beginning as we arrived on the Thanksgiving evening. We were able to place an order (my husband and two our kids). We ordered some appetizers, soup, and the main course. However, all of those things were brought to us at once. I wanted to asked them to take at least the main course back, but husband didn't want to make a big deal out of it, not to spoil the evening. By the time we were done with the appetizers and soups, the hot meals were cold. I don't know whose fault is it.... my husband's or the restaurant... Probably, both.
The hostess was very personable and accommodating. We had arrived very early for our reservations and she surprised us by seating us early and in a wonderful spot by the stage. Our server was an absolute sweetheart. Two people in our party had special dietary restrictions/needs and he was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and realistic options. The physical space was lushly and eclectically decorated and comfortable. Drinks were a little pricy but very tasty.
Fun Jazz Thanksgiving at the Beehive! Great service, good food and music, great ambiance.
Friendly, kowledgable, attentive service!
