First visit...prior to theater. Delicious, and prompt service - even had time for dessert! :-)
We went for my husbands birthday. We called in a reservation and told the staff it was a special occasion. Our tables were directly in front of the stage. It was impossible to talk or hear each other. The music was fantastic! The food was very good, although we all would have like larger plates, the portions of food were larger then the plates they were on. Our food kept falling off into the table. Our waitress was great. Her name was Sarah and she was friendly and attentive. She answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. I wish we were seated away from the stage, but now we will know that for next time.
TL;DR Extremely dissatisfied with the service and food, so much so that I will not be returning.
Ill start off by saying that I loved this restaurant a year ago, and thinking it would be a perfect spot to take my girlfriend for our anniversary, couldn’t have been more surprised and disappointed.
Nothing personal against our waitress, but we were pretty POed: 1) she spilled our drinks on us and didn’t apologize for it, claiming “surface tension” was the problem 2) waitress didn’t check in on us after our food was delivered, especially since there were things to be desired with the food (we had to call her over through other employees a couple times) and it was barely even 6pm, nowhere near peak hours 3) the manager was unapologetic and made a poor attempt to console us, literally couldn’t even muster an apology for our dissatisfaction 4) I couldn’t explain to myself how this offensive reel of scantily clad, dancing women being projected onto the wall next to us made sense as a part of the restaurant’s decor - it was repulsive and tacky, the owners couldn’t find anything else that fits the apparently prohibition-esque style of the restuarant?? 5) and on top of everything, the food just wasn’t very good.
Also, what restaurant makes you pay for bread and butter as an appetizer??
My meal was 'okay' for the price. My food arrived cold and the wait staff was absent. He corrected the situation when he finally revisited the table well after my meal was served. I have been to Beehive many times and this was the first I was very disappointed with both the food and most importantly in the service industry, the customer experience. I will revisit but will not rush back anytime soon.
Music was disappointing... I was hoping for saxophone, bass etc. too strong on the elec keyboards.
Food was ok. Wish there were more traditional breakfast options on the brunch. Waitstaff wanted to turnover the table. We will give it another try.
I’ve made the reservation a month before and asked for a table close to the musisian, they put me on a corner next to the bar, way too far. :(
Music was great, food ok.
Wonderful! The service was excellent and the food was outstanding. Great vibe.
I was shocked and appalled at the conditions at the beehive. It was a cold January night and they sat my party right near their "curtains" downstairs. You're a successful restaurant in Boston, please invest the $100 to build doors so your customers aren't freezing while they eat your overpriced food. I have taken many family members, friends, dates, and coworkers here and I can say I will never take anyone here again or recommend it to anyone. Food was ok service was decent minus our waiter spilling marinara sauce all over my cousins white shirt.
The live music was great and the food was delicious. Only downside, the drinks were overpriced.
The Beehive is our favorite place for live music but the New Year’s here disappointed greatly! We were seated upstairs at the balcony even though we made a reservation back in November! It was freezing cold from the doors, far from the band and for a $400 two person dinner tab it’s a bad customer service to offer these seats. You can do better Beehive than squeeze out high price tags on bad tables for New Year’s Eve dinner!
