Beehive Ratings and Reviews
We went for my husbands birthday. We called in a reservation and told the staff it was a special occasion. Our tables were directly in front of the stage. It was impossible to talk or hear each other. The music was fantastic! The food was very good, although we all would have like larger plates, the portions of food were larger then the plates they were on. Our food kept falling off into the table. Our waitress was great. Her name was Sarah and she was friendly and attentive. She answered all of our questions and gave great recommendations. I wish we were seated away from the stage, but now we will know that for next time.
TL;DR Extremely dissatisfied with the service and food, so much so that I will not be returning.
Ill start off by saying that I loved this restaurant a year ago, and thinking it would be a perfect spot to take my girlfriend for our anniversary, couldn’t have been more surprised and disappointed.
Nothing personal against our waitress, but we were pretty POed: 1) she spilled our drinks on us and didn’t apologize for it, claiming “surface tension” was the problem 2) waitress didn’t check in on us after our food was delivered, especially since there were things to be desired with the food (we had to call her over through other employees a couple times) and it was barely even 6pm, nowhere near peak hours 3) the manager was unapologetic and made a poor attempt to console us, literally couldn’t even muster an apology for our dissatisfaction 4) I couldn’t explain to myself how this offensive reel of scantily clad, dancing women being projected onto the wall next to us made sense as a part of the restaurant’s decor - it was repulsive and tacky, the owners couldn’t find anything else that fits the apparently prohibition-esque style of the restuarant?? 5) and on top of everything, the food just wasn’t very good.
Also, what restaurant makes you pay for bread and butter as an appetizer??
My meal was 'okay' for the price. My food arrived cold and the wait staff was absent. He corrected the situation when he finally revisited the table well after my meal was served. I have been to Beehive many times and this was the first I was very disappointed with both the food and most importantly in the service industry, the customer experience. I will revisit but will not rush back anytime soon.
I was shocked and appalled at the conditions at the beehive. It was a cold January night and they sat my party right near their "curtains" downstairs. You're a successful restaurant in Boston, please invest the $100 to build doors so your customers aren't freezing while they eat your overpriced food. I have taken many family members, friends, dates, and coworkers here and I can say I will never take anyone here again or recommend it to anyone. Food was ok service was decent minus our waiter spilling marinara sauce all over my cousins white shirt.
The Beehive is our favorite place for live music but the New Year’s here disappointed greatly! We were seated upstairs at the balcony even though we made a reservation back in November! It was freezing cold from the doors, far from the band and for a $400 two person dinner tab it’s a bad customer service to offer these seats. You can do better Beehive than squeeze out high price tags on bad tables for New Year’s Eve dinner!
This was my first time here and I truly loved the experience. We arrived here for an A-la-carte menu on NYE and were pleased with the amount of options that were available. I ordered the Atlantic Salmon and while the Salmon tasted a little "off", the rest of the delicious flavors in the dish made up or it.
Upon entering, we were greeted by friendly and professional hosts and were lead to our table rather quickly. I absolutely loved the ambiance and the music. It was a great romantic dinner spot and the music lived up to my expectations. I'd love to visit again when they have their regular menu out and would love to stay for a little longer (we stayed for about an hour and a half) next time. I'd highly recommend - just make sure you make a reservation!
Tables were super squished together and left us feeling uncomfortable. The wait staff never asked me if I wanted a beverage so I just stuck to water, even though I probably would have ordered one if given the opportunity. The food was delicious and it came out really fast but the servings were small, leaving us still hungry. The restaurant was a bit pricey but not worth it due to the lack of service and the uncomfortableness.
Have attended the Jazz brunch at Beehive twice. Our waitress on the second occasion was good, but the hostess and previous waiter were upright. Waiter disagreed without checking when my order was not sent out complete, he rushed our party, and was just generally not helpful. Several menu items are very
The food was disappointing. The jazz was awesome! The food came out cold and our server didn't seem that busy but didn't pay much attention to us. We waited for the bill for a very long time. The portion sizes are big, which makes up for the huge price tag, but not that good. I might go back, but probably not.
Our friends were quite late for our reservation. BeeHive staff kindly worked with us but were ruthless about getting us to leave at exactly to the minute when they said they would need our table (we were eight people). Of course I am furious with our friends but at other Boston restaurants at this price point, while imploring the guest to honor the meal ending time, they would never actually evict you!
As a result, I won’t be back any time soon. Too many other terrific restaurants to visit.
Got there right at 830, and checked in with the host. We were not seated until I went back up at 8:45 to ask when he expected our table to be ready. He had forgotten to seat us, but was able to accommodate after I asked about the delay.
As always, my husband and I had a great experience at the Beehive. Our waiter was attentive, the food was great, and the live music and overall ambiance put it over the top. The poutine was absolutely delicious. We left happy and well-fed! We'll be back soon!
First time at The Beehive and will definitely return. Met good friends and was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the live music. The menu is quite different but that was refreshing and the food was good. Staff and service were outstanding. This place is a gem.
the host was great but the table was small and awful(though there was enough larger tables, guess were lazy to clean it up), the live music was cool too. all tap beers were out of order, the food was overcooked, the waitress was nice at the beginning but then started to ask about "allset" cash change which is rude for restoraunt business, she has to bring the change and let me leave the tip and not decide for me what tip it should be, also she has to collect her tips after i am gone, this is basic etiquette. also circled the check in the tip suggestion place and wrote "thank you", i have a pic of that. totally unprofessional and rude, ruined our anniversary night. wont come back.
We picked the Beehive as we wanted a place to eat with nice live jazz. The food and service were very good. The music was not much of a factor - background at best, boring at worst. So, if you come here come for the food - not the music which is apparently not much of a focus for them
THE BEEHIVE IS LISTED AS ONE OF THE GREAT PLACES FOR LIVE MUSIC AND GOOD FOOD. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. THE BAND WAS AMAZING AND MY SON WAS TRULY IMPRESSED (HE IS VERY TALENTED AT MUSIC AS WELL AND WE WERE THERE VISITING BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC). THEY WERE THE ICING ON THE CAKE OF A GREAT MEAL AND AMAZING VISIT TO BERKLEE. MY SON IS SOLD AND HOPES TO VISIT BEEHIVE OFTEN WHILE ATTENDING BERKLEE. MY HOPE IS HE WILL GET THE CHANCE TO PLAY SOME THERE OR EVEN BETTER HAVE SOMEONE PLAY SOME OF HIS MUSIC THAT HE HAS AND WILL BE WRITING.
I had been to Beehive’s Jazz brunch, which is excellent. We wanted to try their dinner menu. Our reservation was too early, need to shoot for 7:30 or so. I ordered a garaham (so) Marsala veggie dish with paneer. Outstanding! Bread pudding was not the best I’ve had. My wife had their gelato, which was amazing. Overall, a few n place with great food.
FYI...A little chilly by the bar.
