Meeting grandfather and husband for dinner while they were in town for the night.
When we walked in, we were pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful, eclectic atmosphere. The decor was stunning, live music and the food was amazing. I wish we had a place like this on Long Island, NY because it would be packed! Highly recommend for friends get together and also business meals.
Great time and great music
When Beehive called to confirm my reservation the sommelier recommended a champagne (since I had mentioned it was my wedding anniversary on the reservation). His recommendation was perfect! We were seated immediately upon arrival. It was very busy, so the reservation was a must. A manager and the waiter wished us Happy Annivesary, which meant a lot. My husband had skirt steak and eggs and I had the brioche french toast with sausage and peach compote. Both meals were fantastic. We were adjacent to the stage, but it wasn't too loud- loved enjoying the jazz while we ate. We had a slice of strawberry cheesecake after our meal with coffee, and both were divine! Highly recommend!
The kitchen area needs to be covered by a curtain or something. Our table was right where the jazz band was but we were staring at the kitchen the entire time. It takes away from the atmosphere
Music was sensational. Woo Factor is awesome!!!
Awesome place. Food and service was great. Music was funky!
Awesome! Great menu. Oysters were delightful! Corn and pea salad amazing. Loved the duck. Maple bread pudding, like french toast. Nice wine list. Nice bourbon list. Excellent staff. Live music too!
I have been planning to go to the Beehive for so long. I finally made it to celebrate my sister's birthday and mine, since both are in July. It was amazing! The service from Alexa was great. She is charming, personable, knowledgeable, and attentive. This was five star service, and the manager also came out to ask about our experience.
The bacon wrapped shrimp were delicious. They came with a peach bbq sauce about which I forgot because they were grilled and had that char/smokey flavor that is so befitting a summer appetizer. I will try the sauce next time. The grilled skirt steak dish was slightly different from the online menu. I was so pleased! It was sliced and was in a shishito pepper chimichurri sauce. It was served over grilled mini-corn-on-the-cob which was flavored with a paprika butter. Yes, it was as incredible as it sounds. We sat outside and just enjoyed the entire experience. I had a great IPA too, though they definitely could expand the beer options to include more IPA's ( Just the Clown Shoes Clementine and Harpoon). I also tried my sister's "Fall-Off-The-Bone" ribs which were spectacular (on the Hors D'Oeuvres menu). The Hors D'Oeuvres we had (the shrimp and ribs) may seem a bit expensive for some when it comes to appetizers ($18 and $16) but they were just delectable. We didn't even talk about prices, as the menu items sounded incredible and the restaurant delivered. I can't wait to go back!
Ordered the quiche for myself and split the coffee cake with my fiancé and friend. Everything was so yummy! Inside has some great live music and outside has a very cute patio! Definitely recommend checking this place out.
The atmosphere is phenomenal.
One of our party has a medical condition which requires some dietary restrictions and our server Fabricio was incredibly helpful and attentive. We loved the food, atmosphere and service! Highly recommend!
I really wanted to like Beehive. It was recommended to me by a friend for the Jazz Brunch; however, my dining experience was very disappointing overall. I will say, service was incredibly accommodating with a friendly and sweet staff. I left smiling over the service, but unhappy with the meal at a price.
We came in with a reservation on a Sunday afternoon to relax, catch music and a brunch-y meal before heading out of town. The hostesses were so kind to handle our luggage and insisted that they do the lifting. It was sweltering hot outside. I ordered eggs, as did my dining partner. They were hardly cooked at all in either of our dishes (I had the Benedict and he the Shashuka.) I am not sure how anyone could enjoy such raw eggs. Everything was plated in an unappetizing way, to be honest. Since the weather had me feeling under the weather, and the waitress was so kind to happily suggest a veggie substitute to the meat options listed, I didn't send it back. However, I left spending almost $50 to have eaten the side salad it came with. We sat upstairs and it was difficult to hear the live jazz over the sounds of the other diners and restaurant bustle.
Great jazz music and an exciting menu. Only a few allergy- friendly options, however.
We had great service, listened to live jazz music, had a great selection of food, and the general aesthetic of this place is romantic, cozy, and almost New Orleans. The food is unique and a blend of multiple cultures (Moroccan, southern American, french, etc). This is a great place to take out of town guests. Go on Saturdays if you want less of a crowd. I believe Saturdays are live jazz and Sundays are live Blues.
Food was BOMB.
Really enjoyed the music and atmosphere. The menu selections could have been better and were very pricey ($25 for a simple salad). Did not like the table we were seated at as it was partially in the aisle even though we had reservations. Service was okay, not the best. Good place for drinks and music.
Our reservation was 11:15 and we were not seated until 11:35 20 minutes late. We watched multiple party's walk in and get seated right away. Then when we were brought to our table it was taken by another couple so we had too stand around for another couple minutes. The reason this was a problem we had a Red Sox game to catch and that's the reason I had a reservation in the first place.
Went to The Beehive for the Sunday Jazz Brunch. Always a great way to spend a Sunday morning/afternoon. There is always good music and the food is really good. The poutine is extra special. Don't forget to try one of their handcrafted cocktails, too.
There was a hair in my girlfriends food. Probably won’t go back anytime soon.
The flourless chocolate torte is AMAZING!!! My boyfriend and I enjoyed great food & wine while listening to live jazz on a Friday night. 5/5 stars :)
great ambience but almost would come for drinks not dinner; the food menu is expensive and not worth the price you pay for what you get. Very basic dishes. Also the tip calculation on the receipt is totally wrong don’t let it fool you!
Went to the beehive for a 3 year anniversary the other night. Live music was really nice and it felt like we were on a cruise ship. Curious about the neck of lamb we ordered though. There was nothing else on the menu that contained lamb so, needless to say, I wondered about the rest of the lamb for the entire evening. Great spot for lower back breezes as well.
My 13 yr old niece picked this restaurant and loved the food especially the Korean Fried Cauliflower.
Not as good as usual. Out of a lot items that should have been available on Father's Day.
You pay for the atmosphere, but it depends when you arrive. While we were there, the band only played one song and was on break the rest of the time. The brunch I’ve had better for way less at other places.
We had a really special Father's day meal at the Beehive at 11:45am. The waitstaff was wonderful with our kids, ages 7 and 9. Highly recommend!
We had brunch there and were serenaded by an incredibly trumbone/guitar/jazz quartet. It was incredibly enjoyable, amazing atmosphere. The food was very good; drinks were a bit pricey. I had the country friend steak, and I would highly recommend it. It was dumb luck though; they were out of strip steaks.
This place was the perfect spot for Father's day brunch. I had the signature egg dish, my son had the (amazing) quiche. Both were delicious. Our service was prompt and attentive. The bonus was the live jazz band! We'd recommend this restaurant to everyone.
We had a fantastic time
So glad we were able to get a reservation. Must book ahead of time! Every single dish we ordered was gold. From the duck, to the burger, salmon, etc, enjoyed every cocktail, and the live music was on point. Writing this review was a tough call... On one hand, I really want to give the Beehive the credit they deserve. But on the other, the more people that go, means it'll be harder to get a reservation.
We had our dinner on the patio, which relates to our experience of the noise level. Our server was very nice and helpful. I had the Duck au poivre and my wife had the salmon. Both were excellent.
Wonderful all around review. One negative...should not charge for bread if ordering an entree. A bit if a turn off and frugal attitude by restaurant. Odd too!
It was a wonderful evening at the beehive. Nice music and the meal was very tasty. Should I ever come back to Boston, I would go there again
Great server, second time I've had him, the drinks are off the charts and the foods good. Love the jazz atmosphere
Extremely Overpriced for average food. Waitress rushed us through out our time there. Expected us to know what we wanted to order for dinner after only a couple minutes of being seated. Probably won’t be back
We go to the Beehive for dinner before the Huntington Theatre performances at the Calderwood. The Beehive food is delicious, but the menu is quirky with unusual flavor combinations. Sometimes the dishes are a hit, sometimes a miss, but worth a try. The cocktails are inventive. The art changes up and is for sale so it is fun to see what is up each time you are there.
Good night out for business. Waitress could havee been more attentive. While still on starters she showed up with the mains.
Went for JAZZ BRUNCH. The band was lively and fun. If you're close to the band, might be hard to talk - but that's normal! Had a fancy cocktail and a great sausage dish. It was fantastic. Service was okay - waiter seemed a little harried. The bartender on the other hand was awesome, very attentive, made recommendations, fun people here. A great spot.
